I am sorry I have not been able to update, I have been swamped with schoolwork and skiing. During the summer, I will start showcasing another city in the Lower Hudson Republic, Portsmouth. Expect another massive seaport! P.S. If you type into Google Images "vandy shipping" two of the pictures that come up are from this CJ.

It could be that the stations have just not been in place long enough to take effect. If not, I believe this is a known bug, but I can't recall the thread about the discussion of it.

Nice transportation system!
-
This looks like a promising CJ!
-
You could also use the cheat "fightthepower". This is entered by pressing control+x, and does not need the Extra Cheats .dll. EDIT: Whoops, I didn't explain what this does. This eliminates the need for power consumption in the city.

Those are some very nice vanilla towns you have there! I like the picture of the highway with the oh so gently sloping hill. -

Nice power plant and coal unloading area. -
A neat idea, Sniper296! Too bad it didn't really work, though.

Even if it isn't functional, it still looks mighty fine! -
In response to your first question, it could be that the commercial is not the right wealth level for the poor people. That, or there is a more direct route to the work district. Sims will take the route that has the least distance, not that has the highest speeds. If you want them to use the highway alone, make it so that is the only route to the jobs. To your second question, commercial zones like traffic because in reality, that would generate sales. Sometimes Sims do travel somewhere beyond, but even driving in the commercial zones they will still drive by at least some of the buildings, generating high commercial demand desirability.

They have a losing season for God's sakes! What is the NFC West coming to! I am a Steelers fan myself (woot woot) but I feel like other teams deserved this spot more than the Seahawks. For example, the Tampa Bay Bucs, a ten win team who audaciously beat the Saints. But alas, 'tis not how the playoffs work.

You can use the PEG CDK series. I use a mixture of the 2x lots, the 3x lots, and the 5x lots. Also good is Paeng's Modular Freight Yard System (MFY).

I agree, that is a nice looking water pump, but the base should match the blank terrain around it.
-
In contrast to the nice and shiny canals everyone seems to be showing, I present the canal system in the industrial area of my newest seaport project. ( Still a WIP, I'm afraid) Wooden docks and small barges. Some warehouses at the junction. The freight yard. And... the overview of it all. PEG would be proud... I used the CDK, the CSK, and the MFY.

A swing bridge passing over a canal in the industrial zone.

Most of my cities involve a large, complex seaport. They also have large, tall downtowns, and occasionally some suburbs.

Very nice looking forums and public spaces there!

I have never seen an ancient CJ before! Nice imagination and great detail! -
Some good eye-candy canal sets include Oppie's canal set, BSC brick canals, PEG's Channel Stream Kit (CSK).
