Jasoncw: 1km in Simcity 4 is 64 tiles 1000m divided by 64 = 15.625 Unless of course 1km is a rounded down from a slightly different number in which case you are right.
-
1 square = 15.625 m 1 small city tile = 1km x 1km = 1 km squared 1 medium city tile = 2km x 2km = 4km squared 1 large city tile = 4km x 4km = 16 km squared 1km = 0.62 miles 1 mile = 1.6 km 12 miles = 1.6 x 12 = 19.2 12 square miles = 19.2 square km So to create a town which is 12 square miles, you need an area which is 20 square km. Bearing in mind the city tile sizes at the top of the post, 20 square km is the equivalent of a region which is 4 x 5 small city tiles.

Can't install Rush Hour?!
charactersnotpermitted replied to spicytimothy's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I had the exact same problem and error message but it was for simcity_3.dat The problem was caused by the fact that my disk weas faulty, due to marks, scratches etc. I managed to repair my disk using toothpaste. Just rubbed toothpaste all over the disk in circular motions, washed it off with warm water, dried it, put it back in the laptop and it worked fine. I dont know why it works, but i've used it on many cds, pc games ,xbox games etc. -
