Tileset_mod including industrial lots
ardecila replied to Kwakelaar's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
No, I don't think you can associate Industry with tilesets. However, you can disable the Maxis industry altogether, if that is what you choose. You have to go through all the exemplars and change the Parent Cohort to 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000. Then the game will no longer recognize the exemplars as industrial. However, I don't think you want to do this, as not much industry has actually been BATted to replace the Maxis buildings. -
nvm - Tropod musta posted at the same time I did.

I believe Gary tried to post this picture, but the link was cut off: http://www.fondationlecorbusier.asso.fr/images/realisations/Unite%20d'habitation%20-%20Marseille.jpg

LOL, TMS - I once did a Harris Teeter. It was a crappy BAT by SG's standards, but I had the sign font right. It was based on the one in downtown Charleston, SC, which looks like an old converted warehouse.

Cause If so why do I only have On slope ones for the Road Network?quote> Only Rail, Road, and Ped-Skybridge have OnSlope puzzle pieces. I believe smoncrie is still trying to get avenue and one-way versions out.

Wow! That looks cool, GoaSkin! Nice job, AkenbergerJoe! Any plans to make one like the real Gleisdrieck, for Rail Puzzle Pieces?

Could someone make a good variety of marsh plants - bulrushes, cattails, reeds? You could make them as a whole-tile model, like the SG crops, and make a prop family so they look realistic. I'd do it myself, but I'm terrible at organic modelling.

I like the modd very much, gizmo. It does slow down my computer a bit, but the cinematics are pretty cool. I look forward to seeing some innovative uses of this modd in CJs. In fact, I might have a use for it up my sleeve...

JEC - I see the issue with the elevations. I don't mind waiting for awhile. Thanks. As for making two trains - I believe it's possible. It becomes a little more technical, though. Just give the S3D model, PNG icon, and Exemplar a new TGI address. Right-click the file and choose generate new Instance. Then take this number and give it to the other files. Finally, change the properties in the Exemplar so that they point to the new Instances. I told you it was technical. I've started a modd that will make this much easier. It adds a third kind of heavy rail - Intercity Service. That way, trains like TGV and ICE can be seperate from commute trains. They can even be linked to different types of stations!

Yeah - this is the building I'm talking about. It looks pretty good, and nearly finished.

Turning Lanes - Feedback and Testing

Swamper - have you tried offsetting the props? Keeping them on the tile that they represent, but displaying the props 16m overboard? -
Which property/ies allow to plop god mode trees in a lot

Oh, forgot to say one thing - the LotConfig (the Exemplar that actually contains the lot technical stuff, prop placement, etc.). It has a backup version of the Occupant Size that it makes when you put the building on the lot. The easiest way to fix this is to go into LE and change the building, then save and exit. Open LE again and change the building back. Save it and you're done. -
JEC - would you mind rotating that little building next to the terminal, and releasing it seperately? I like it very much. thanks.

You don't lose any features when you run it with the BAT. All it does is add an export rollout and change the color of the window. However, the BAT renderer does not recognize certain features that gmax offers, like the Light Include/Exclude list and Bump Maps. It doesn't matter which version you build it in, the renderer will not display them.

It's not bad. The textures are slightly busy, though. If you have Photoshop, try lowering the contrast a little bit. It's actually quite realistic. Not many people want to make box-buildings like that, but they're needed.

No, the Reader *can* generate random IIDs, if you wish. You can just as easily give your items an IID that you choose. It's not THAT time-consuming. iLive programmed a handy feature called the TGI editor, which is a window in which you can change the TGIs of multiple files at once. Another thing, guys - your exemplar can have the same IID as your S3D, since they gave different GIDs to set them apart.

I'm not exactly sure what I'm joining, but why not? Count me in!

I use my own IID range, which I use across all areas of modding. Keeps things simple for me. Format: 0xAFnnttuu nn - Project Number. Example - Chicago EL-Rail Project tt - Filetype. I have a list on my computer that associates each common filetype (Exemplar, FSH, S3D, LText, etc.) with an identifier. This list also record my Project Numbers. uu - Unique instance within each filetype.

Date: 5/30/2005 12:47:26 PM Author: Lapse Wow, great CJ you've got here. Too bad you wont/can't continue it. But I'm looking forward to your new one. Maybe this has been asked and answered earlier, but what grass thingie do you use? I saw on some pictures that there's some kind of grass between your houses, and it doesn't look like the 'Open Grass' (or what it's called) which costs like 15 each month that's in the game from the start. Is it on the stex or.. ?quote> The texture is actually in the game, although you don't see it too often. You can get a grass lot with the texture on it in the Marrast Embankment Set.
