  1. terrain mod bug

    It is weird because in the past it always stayed the same color. And I am sure that cpt_italia which i downloaded isn't seasonal....
  2. have you recently installed A LOT of plugins? If so the game could take a few minutes to load. I remembered before i decided to clean up my plugins folders i had nearly 8 gig of plugins. Simcity took 15minutes to start up. all of the time it stays on the black screen. And as you said alt tabbing would cause my pc to freeze
  3. terrain mod bug

    So recently i bought simcity4 again (my disk broke after all those years of service and i had bought a new pc) after seeing what a debacle simcity2013 turned out to be. I installed all my plugins from scratch and downloaded my old favorite terrain mod: cpt_italia At first things looked good after i created a new region and painted the whole thing with trees in god mode things where good. However upon making the first city in mayor mode i encountered a problem: as you can see the ground in hometown changed coulour/texture. This happened in mayor mode. I have tried and debug this thing but i can not find any conflicting plugins. Also i made sure only to have 1 terrain mod installed. anybody care to weigh in and try to help me fix this. All help would be greatly appreciated here some more screenshots: what i want it to be: what it currently is in mayor mode: (not wanted) i saw an increase in the texture with the white dots not sure if this helps you

    what terrain mod are you using? I used to have the same one but my pc got screwed and now every city i start is different from my original color scheme
  6. Starting up again

    maybe as important as taxes is your education. providing full education across the board is a no go when you want realism. when you have elementary/highschool/college.... i mean the works. you will end up with super smart sims across all wealth classe which in turn maximizes demand for i-ht, co$$ and co$$$. try not to overdo your education. let some sims be stupid.this way you will keep he lower wealth levels of commercial and industrial.
  7. highway ramp questions

    what i do is just make logical places to connect. at every larger town in the region + larger towns get more than 1 exit. but never closer than about 1km apart. which translates to about 60 tiles. closer to me seems unrealistic and i always try to use accel/decel lanes which in turn take quit a couple of tiles. so in between exits i minimally got 70 tiles. but remember it has to look good to you! so go with whatever is good for you. try 'anchoring' the intersection between the mis and the road with road tiles this way it won't get lower. it's about as descriptive i can be without axeactly knowing what you mean. hope to have helped.

  15. Massive R$$$ unemployment

    how are your residents distibuted over R$$$ R$$ and R$? I had similar problems back when i started playing the gam. I would build cities and supply em with all amentities and schooling thus eventually making it very desirable for R$$$. Then they would move in and aforementioned dilapidation and unemployment happened. I also had very little tiles used on the entier region. My current playing style however uses massive amounts of R$$ and espacially R$as is the fact in real life. Realism driven i set out with this new game-playing style. Ifound out that every problem disappeared. The large numbers of R$ are willing to work about anywhere and almost never give me any unemplyoment issues. these large although mostly low density areas of R$$ and R$ seem to drive the economy making place for R$$$. However only about 10% of my population of the region at any time is R$$$. I even go as far as to tax em out of some cities. R$$ can develop mostly anywhere however i do tend to make R$ only cities too. So in the end after lots of years of playing i now view everything more 'realistically'. I downloaded a lot of plugins to visually make it better, and at the same time tried to distribute the R$, R$$, R$$$ as in real life meaning 10%r$$$(this is even a bit much) and then 40
