  1. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

To add to the conversation the NAM is always in Beta, there is always more to add! As for the pre release, this gives users a chance to find issues which would have not been found by the NAM team itself. We make no apologies for that. We are trying to be open and transparent and I think most users would agree that the NAM after the longest developmental cycle would need some thorough testing before we present an Official release. In terms of staffing the NAM team has very few active members and is also inhibited in the way that we are going down the path of flexing the content. Something very few know how to do at the highest level. So it is going to be a rough ride for the foreseeable future due to the staffing constraints. So please give us some grace. We are trying our best. -eggman121
  2. Questions about NAM installation

Hello Dreadnought. Basically the NAM brings more than a traffic simulator. The NAM has a set of new and enhanced networks to make realistic highway interchanges, A new rail type called the Real Railway and the NWM or Network Widening Mod for new types of road infrastructure among others. The Real Highway Mod is basically a more expandable version of the highway network based on the hidden network that was not put into the vanilla release of the game (It can only be activated with the NAM) and you can make realistic highways from 2 lanes to 10 lanes. The Real Highway has no prefabricated interchanges but with the large array of ramps and curves you can design your own realistic highway interchanges. So I would give it a go in a blank region if you are new to the Real Highway. In the NAM 33 PR the Real Highway has been significantly enhanced by the introduction of overrideable smooth curves which will make their way into other areas of the NAM. As for checking boxes you can do a custom install and install the networks you want to use. Just try a custom install and see what network you would like. With the networks there are descriptions when you hover your mouse over the check box and see if you want to install that network. If you need any more clarification I am more than willing to help -eggman121
  3. NAM installed, do I need to use the TSCT?

You are correct! There should actually be an icon on your desktop for editing the TSCT or the Traffic simulator. There should be some documentation as well. I would read the documentation which can be found in the installation files. More info here: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23829-nam-traffic-subsystem/ The package is included in the NAM 32 or NAM 33 pre release so no need for a separate download. For the record I am a NAM Team member an will help whenever I am lurking around on simtropolis -eggman121
  4. DesignerCity : City Building game app

Wow this is neat! Just Installed it on my ASUS eee pad and it works with no hitches at all Only played it for a short while but I am impressed. Keen to see where you go with this. Hopefully finally a city building game that can be played on a tablet without all the DRM that are in other games... Hopefully! Will users be able to make custom content for this game? -eggman121
  5. NAM General Support

All the NAM components are in the Network Addon Mod folder. I would recommend a clean install of the NAM. The latest version is NAM 32. If you can't find them they may not be installed on your installation. Try a custom install (Where you can choose the plugins that are wanted/needed) and see if that puts the required plugins back in. -eggman121
  6. You could always try a different graphics driver. Thats how I fixed my problem on my Windows 8 laptop. I just downgraded the driver and the glitching went away. You will have to switch off shadows though.
  7. NAM General Support

Those are the legacy transitions for the RHW 6S. The FLEX Onsope transtions will override to the correct type if you place them down. There is an L1 and L2 version. As far as your question is concerned the Elevated RHW 6S has had a slight geometry change since NAM 31. The onslopes in your picture are the old Puzzle Piece Onslope transtions. -eggman121
  8. Help Choosing a New Laptop

In addition I would avoid laptops with the Intel graphics HD 4000 If you can. I made that mistake! As for copies of SC4 there are plenty of vendors selling it digitally and there are sometimes on special for US $5.00 so keep an eye on that. Someone usually picks up on the sales and makes a post about it on one or more of the various SC4 fansites.
  9. NAM: Development

With NAM32 you can use the Drag Road Viaducts or DRVs in the NAM32 installation to create more condensed interchanges like this one here. There will be no prefabs for the RHW ever! There are many reasons for this which include: -They are inflexible. -The limit for any puzzle piece is 16x16 tiles which is quite restrictive. Many interchanges require more than this -There would be an overwhelming amount of requests for different types of interchanges -The models are quite hard to create. -The RHW has and will always be modular. No exceptions! -Upcoming content will make it easier to make large interchanges more condensed. There is a lot of exciting stuff on the way for the RHW which will make more complex setups easier. Even now there are an enormous amount of interchanges that can be created with NAM32 which don't require that much space. Just look on the "Show us your Intersections" Thread at SC4Devotion Here -eggman121
  10. Any one using RRW?

My catenaries may take a while. They are quite hard to calculate and make. Also I have to make sure that the props don't conflict with anything. There is still a bit to sort out but I will continue to work on them when time permits -eggman121

Extra Pylon Mod v1.0 Drag Road Viaducts This mod aims to give extra support to the new Drag Road Viaducts (DRV's) When you draw a certain network under the viaducts into the pylons the pylons will move either side to maintain support. This is purely a cosmetic mod and will not change anything else in the game! All questions can be directed to this thread on SC4Devotion here or by leaving a comment below. Networks included: RHW Orthogonal L0 for L1 7.5m Viaduct and L2 15m Viaducts NWM Orthogonal L0 for L1 7.5m Viaducts Only!
