  1. Chung's Chinese Food

Can't have enough Chinese restaurants in town.
  2. I've never seen this before. I would love to see a picture of it.
  3. Interesting variety. Good luck and look forward to how it ends.
  4. Yes, nice to see more W2W buildings.
  5. Problems installing SC4

See if it will install in safe mode.
  6. Armor pack

Do they still require software mode?
  7. Yeah!! More stuff for SPAM!!! Many thanks from the farmers of my regions!
  8. Hi Moose. You can't have enough customers so I dropped the name of your place at http://www.overclock.net/ . Let me look at the menu and see what I will have. Your place has a nice and warm feeling to it. It almost feels like I'm at my home sitting in my office.
  9. Avenues - Questions

In the cities I've been playing lately I have been concentrating on using OWR. This does great for keeping congestion away for awhile. I plan ahead of time where I will lay down an avenue if I intend to do so. Prior to doing this I always in end up having congestion problems and having to do major restructuring. Had to demolish lots and make my sims move. While it has negative impact it is only short-lived.
  10. Free Grass Park Mod

Started on working a tile using desert terrain. Of course, I ended up putting a lot of grass tiles in my res areas. I was just getting ready to open up LE to create something like this, but decided to search first. Good thing since it looks like it was already done! Thanks!
  11. Mark the buildings you want to keep as historical. This will allow you to keep your neighborhoods as you want them to.
  12. Do a search for the Mayhem Device on the STEX. I will see if I can find the linky for you. EDIT: Here it is. You can place it next to your reactor if you want to use that as your backdrop. If you want to show a terrorist attack you can use any backdrop you wish. Enjoy!
  13. Sim City 4 on steam...

I guess the one nice thing you can probably say about the Steam version is that you don't need to have your CD in the tray. [Edit: Removed subject not permitted.] I prefer having my own media.
  14. Urban vs Rural

Ahh, I wasn't too far off then. Not a bad view at all. I'm originally from the Bronx and the wifey is from Oakdale area. Having said that and getting back to the topic, I like living within 30 minutes of a city. So, suburbia for me. I like working in a major city and going home away from the hustle and the bustle. But I don't want to be too far away from the hustle and the bustle. I just need a daily respite from it. LOL.
  15. Urban vs Rural

This shot somewhere between Lawrence and Valley Stream?
  16. Variable Message Sign Pack

Awesome idea! Just what every modern city needs!AMBERT ALERT: DOWNLOAD THIS ONE!!
  17. What video card and drivers are you using? What operating system? Is it 32 or 64 bit? You say that it feels like its running 10FPS. What is it actually running at? You can download FRAPS (google it) or I think there may be a built-in cheat (ctrl+x, type FPS). The latter seem to never work for me. At level 3 my large city tile of over 1 million inhabitants garners me 20-30FPS. I have 1GB Radeon 4870, e6400 oveclocked to 3.2GHz, 4GB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit with the swap file being managed by the Windows. While not blazing fast it works well for me. One would think that the age of SC4 and the improvements in our hardware would make this game perform that much better. One would think but the truth doesn't prove it to be so.
  18. Waste Managment Househould Trash Drop Off.

    Great idea! Tx.
  19. Terrain Types

Ah, thanks allot! That is exactly the type of thing I was looking for! It looks like there is a problem with downloading it from ST at the moment. You can get it from the German SC4 site: http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=311 Many of my cities use different police cars, trams, and trains. SUM helps me keep my sanity. Hope it works well for your use. Enjoy! You can also find more info about it here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=1478.0 Of course there is also have a support thread for SUM here on ST. The first few pages talks about the earlier versions. I sent a PM to Vandy (STEX moderator)so hopefully that will be fixed soon. UPDATE: 5/2 It looks like its pointing to the right file now.
  20. Terrain Types

Use Startup Manager and you can assign different terrains to your regions or cities. It's really easy! This is what I do.
  21. I didn't know this exist and I have been known to bestow my cities with NP. They will be much happier now that there will be a response team who will be dedicated to the task of keeping them safe. Thanks so much.
  22. (HELP) My region

Well, I used to think that, but in the nine years I've been playing the game, my results have shown otherwise. It used to work that way before Rush Hour, but apparently not any more because I get successful, profitable cities doing it my way. But why would the density zoned matter when there are only three wealth groups and each wealth group can live in each density? Does the game have some kind of mechanic where each wealth group prefers a certain density? This is an interesting discussion. I would love to hear others opinion on this.
  23. SC4TF on Windows7

For TerraFormer, try reinstalling it. SC4Mapper is another story. It would take more effort than I want to use it on the 64 bit version of Win 7 so I moved over to SC4TF. I did get it to run using XP Mode though. You can do that if your version of Win 7 comes with XP Mode. I think Ultimate, Pro and Enterprise does. IRC, Wounagaine lost the source code for SC4Mapper so we wont be seeing this updated anytime soon.
  24. Just for kicks try this. Load up Startup Manager and go to Configuration>SimCity 4 Options> Check "window mode." Right underneath you will see a box that is titled "SimCity 4 shortcut." It will take you to the properties of your SC4 Shortcut. This is what Startup Manager will use when it starts. Add "CustomResolution:enabled" and "-r1920x1080" to the end of the "Target" field. While this isn't a direct fix it may be a workaround until you can find the answer to the behavior you are experiencing.
