It looks beautiful Thank you for adding those small fixes That was exactly what I meant While the two rectangular terraces weren't there around 1900 (I don't really remember when they were added them [before there was a soil heap in the centre of the star-shaped terrace and wide steps leading to the entrance]) I don't really mind them. See the photo: All I wanted was a copper version This one you made is nice but I think is a little too golden... I think it was rather something like that: ... I still can't believe we will have a proper Statue of Liberty finally...

Yes, now it looks grand My only tiny little bit of criticism would be to the pedestal (I know I'm being a pain in... You don't even need to adress it, I just feel obliged somehow to point it out because I studied it at some point ) The main entrance: it looks squished somehow... You also ommited the big "circles" on each side of it. The area below the four pillars: there is too much space above the sunken rectangle, look at my model for reference. That would be it, the rest is really not important, I doubt anybody will notice differences so there's no point is sweating over them. Again, you did wonderful job, the Statue and pedestal look beautiful. And the nightlights are of course brilliantly done. I just need to ask, would you mind doing older version?

Great interview I have the same problem when playing the game, I always find something that is essential to build my dream-city but is still yet to be done
-
SimCoug - haha thanks! Aaron Graham - Thank you Vlasky - You know where they're from now And thank you I'm glad you enjoyed my interview Small update on Hotel Penn. It looks like they plastered and painted the base of the building at some point but the original stone facades should still be there. I decided to make the base as it appeared originally.

Hello guys, welcome to my "International Atelier" ^^ Some of you may know me from NYBT forum where I show my works related to New York City. In this thread I want to show you my other BATs and projects, both from America and Europe Currently I'm working on: Palazzo Chiericati from Vicenza: and Palais Garnier from Paris: There is also my Columbian Exposition Recreation Project: and my newest work, my own design of memorial for Washington D.C: (only visualisation here, because there's still much left to do)

Yes, that's why I think the perfect solution would be to make game in 2.5D like SC4 but with bigger resolution Very simplified in some cases, you can get away with simplifying the Doric order and maybe even Ionic but even remotely simple Corinthian capital takes about ~1500 poly. For SC4 a corinthian capital only takes 100-200, because the resolution isn't capable of showing anything more than that. If it was going to be shown closeup in a movie or if it was 3d scanned it would be millions. I don't think a corinthian column would have more than a palm tree, and yet we're allowed to halve palm trees in the game. It's also getting to be less practical to increase the resolution of prerendered graphics. Even for SC4 which is low resolution our plugins folders are already getting too big, adding a true zoom 6 render would almost quadruple the size, and you still wouldn't be able to zoom in as much and see as much detail as in C:S. And C:S's graphics can be improved with better hardware while SC4's don't (and unfortunately nowadays they actually get worse with better hardware ). Yes, yes, I know it can be done with 100-200 poly, I was talking about normal model that doesn't look bad from up close But let's not get carried away with millions, scan - yes because of all the "imperfections" but really good "new" models gave up to 200 000 poly Well...maybe you're right, I was always convinced that prerendered graphics are better than 3D graphic (in case of city building games) because they don't require so much ... computer performance? (sorry, not really my cup of tea ^^"). But it looks like I need to rethink my views on that. Soo... if my Leaning Tower takes over 4 mln poly now... how many polygons should it take for C:S?

Hotwheeler - It's front elevation of Hotel Pennsylvania tonyr - Thanks Vlasky - We'll see, I don't want to end-up with gray building ;D Aaron Graham - Glad you like it cmdp123789 - Yes, I'm trying to finish some of my bigger buildings Hanson784 - Thanks (and I love the song ;D) I needed a break from big buildings so I thought I'll play a little with ornaments: Unfortunately most of them won't be visible even on HD render: But that's ok, I enjoy working on them anyway Don't worry, I will post some update on Hotel Penn soon

The famous Leaning Tower of Pisa was constructed in three stages between 1173 and 1372. In 1178 the tower began to sink because of unstable soil and insufficient foundation. The construction resumed in 1272 and to compensate for the tilt, the stories above second floor were built taller on one side. Because of this the tower is actually curved. Seventh floor was completed in 1319 and the bell-floor in 1372. The last bell was installed in 1655. In 1990 and 2008 large amounts of soil had to be removed from underneath the raised end to straighten the tower and prevent it from collapsing. Today, the Leaning Tower is one of the Italy's most famous landmarks. Building type: Landmark Lot size: 2x2 Dependencies: SimFox Day n Nite Modd (For DarkNite Version only) This BAT was created to celebrate the STEX's 100,000,000th download. I thank the administrators and moderators of Simtropolis for their dedication in maintaining this great site. Enjoy!- 22 Comments

Well, I always model everything to actual size (ok, maybe except windows, and even that only in terms of depth) so it's nothing new to me. Besides - modeling everything as it appears in real life always seemed easier to me than exaggerate some parts to make the better visible in game. The polycount on the other hand is a nightmare for me. I never had to watch it too closely and now I can easily go up to 15-20 million before max will slow down. It's also much easier for me to model some details than paint a texture. And in some instances texture won't do the trick, corinthian capital being one of them for example. And what's the point of watching something from up close if there's nothing to look at? That's why I'm not really convinced with the idea of city-builder in 3D. BUT. I still think C:S is a good game from what I've seen. Ok, enough with my babble Northern Trust Bank looks great Jason I have my eyes set on another branch, you may even know it
