Hi,! Ive been reading on here for help and what not since SC4 came out, dont think iv hardly ever posted tho... sorry, big reader, not a big typer... but something occured to me while reading this post. I fell victim to the sims titles as well... The sims was good because it was new and they only ever came out with an expansion every now and then (you could enjoy the game a bit before relizing it sucks and you need to spend more money on it), comparitivly, it was a reasonably good game all by itself without the expansions... when the sims 2 came out, the churned out expansions so fast, i dont even know what theyer up to now... is sims 2: exotic toilets out yet? it should be.. well, the sims 2 really sucked all by itself, you had to download alot of content and buy alot of expansions before it got playable (IMO)... i think this is the way SCS has gone.. (thanks EA, support capitalisim!) I think this game was released rushed probably because they plan on dropping out like, who knows, a dozen expansions in the next two years, that seems to be how EA is doing all these games now, they have a whole game in mind but only relese fractions of it every so often, that way we spend more.. its not a bad bussiness plan... but i really think that in another year, it will be a better game if even just waiting on EA. Im willing to bet money that the reason it kinda stinks now is because they have 3 or more expansions in the making. Not to mention, theyve made a whole lot more money off the sims titles in recent years and so are targeting that audiance with this recent addition. But look at SC4, its transport system (vinilla version) sucked untill rush hour came out, sadly they abbandoned it after that (i was really hoping for another expansion, at the time, so i could throw more money at EA ) Ya, it looks abit cartoonish, but i really think the graphics are nice anyhow, i wish they would have appeared more to scale, and perhaps not had such silly names (creepy barn? *****? am i 5?) it has a lot of good points i had hoped could have been in SC4, i think its lacking the IRC growing, it was cool to go look what your city grew today, but i end up ploping most my city anyway. Anyway, back to the point - i dont think ill be wasting my money on this game just yet.... But i have a good feeling that the reason it seems EA let us down is that they havnt finished releasing the game, wait for them to doal (sp?) it out to us.... It might get better, then it might be worth buying and even modding.
