Discussion about City Tile Size
jcinsj replied to alex macnamara's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
They will never increase the size of the city tiles or even give you the option. This game eats up bandwidth and computer memory like crazy. If you double or triple the size of the city it will only make matters worse. As it is there are insufficient servers to handle the people playing the game now. And I don't see them quadrupling capacity now.- 1,284 Replies

great. at the mercy of EA until they get the server functioning correctly. we paid too much money for this game. I bet I don't even like it because it has no single player mode. There will always be issues related to their server or my IP and when I sit down to play that is what I like to do. I've been on the game for a total of 10 minutes since it's release. I can't even figure out how to save my work so I can return to it later. It crash before I can even build anything. This is like a very bad Disneyland ride where you wait in line forever only to experience the thrill for 2 minutes.

SimCity 2013 Beta Reviews - Any new reviews should be posted here!

Well I spent $60 on a game I can't play. Has to be a first. Did EA rip me off? Of course, just like the rest of the world my play time is at peak hours. I'm not going to be playing this game at 3AM. So, am I allowed to access the European servers? When I try all the game tiles save I can't load a game. When I try to access an American server, it says, its busy and counts down a clock of 20 minutes. Thing is after the 20 minutes, it start the count down over again. Really stupid. Really a waste of money. If I can't get on the servers tomorrow, I am going to demand my $60 back. I think my expectations were that this game would allow for single-player use. I don't see it. From what 5 minutes I was on-line before I got bumped off, it looks a hell of a lot like Cities XL 11 only at one point they had to drop the "servers" as people got sick of not being able to find the city they wanted. So far I'm extremely disappointed that I paid so much and that I can't get on a server to play. Or even that when I try to create my own city it says "city not available". Very unhappy SimCity fan here. I've been playing the game since the first version, which is over 15 years and think this one sucks. -
SimCity has stopped working
jcinsj replied to regionlong's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I think the number of people on the SimCity servers is so huge that not everyone who bought can play. I played for a few minutes and crashed too. No I get a message saying all servers are full. This always on line is BS -

I upset because I can't get on. Servers busy you have to wait 20 minutes to play. I want to play off line. -
so far these posts make the new version sound so disappointing. maxis, please, i will not purchase another sim societies or cities xl 2011/2012 type simulator again. they were just a stupid waste of my time. i was hoping that a new sc5(reboot, whatever) version would expand on the great SimCity concept. smaller city maps? ridiculous. they were too small in sc4. i'm going to wait a few months to purchase this time. until i know its something i'll enjoy. if sc5 is a failure, i'm afraid it will be the nail in the coffin of the franchise. curse you ea. bring back will wright.
