The late 70s were a period of urban design where boredom with boxes had begun to set in, but the whimsy of postmodernism had yet to take hold. Skyscrapers were still boxy, but architects were feeling more liberated to play with the forms, the facades, and the massing. IDS2 captures that here with the Silberturm, with its rounded edges, external elevator cores, and interstitial spaces. But what really makes this BAT shine, literally, is the texturing. The metallic finish and window treatment are such that there diffuse reflections off the metal, as it you were seeing it in real life. Too many BATs treat just the street-facing facade and leave the side walls dull and featureless, with bland or poor-quality textures. IDS2 certainly did not do that here! The modding, lighting and lotting are also well done. At 4x4, growable-only users may actually see this naturally sprout in their Downtown cores. A terrific addition to the game, well-suited for a variety or urban cores. 5/5!

Ugly? Perhaps. But this is a model that keeps the game feeling modern and fresh, and it's useful in that it helps fill the midrise "gap". We are blessed with skyscrapers a-plenty. But an urban core is filled out by midrises like this. And for a 20+ year old game, a big effort is required to keep it feeling contemporary. This is a very useful building and I am grateful. It's well-textured, modeled, and modded. 5/5.

The 1980s was a time of less architectural restraint. The culture was bigger, bolder, brasher. And Helmut Jahn was the man for the moment. Like the yuppies with the BMWs and layered hairstyles, his buildings sought attention and got it, perfect for an age where image was everything. IDS2 has captured that aspiring, optimistic era beautifully. The glass shimmers, the bold geometric lines stand out, and the salmon and silver accents stand out among the blue glass texture. It is beautifully modeled, sumptuously nightlit, tastefully lotted, and appropriately molded. Few things from the 1980s would be called a "treasure", but this is emblematic of its era - dazzling, self-assured, postmodernism on the rise. IDS2's work is likewise a treasure, one that we all get to enjoy in our cities. 5/5.

One of the BEST creations made in recent times. There are not enough words to thank you for such a valuable gift. Thank you so much, Kelis. Thank you for everything you've contributed to Chicago and to the Community!!!!

The modeling is well-done, the textures are excellent, and the BAT is appropriately modded. But that nightlighting is simply exquisite. A lot of players are reluctant to play their cities in the nighttime setting - they're worried about DarkNite vs MaxisNite (personally, I think the sheer variety of BAT textures out there have mitigated some of the stark DN/MN contrast), buildings with inadequate "spotlight" style lighting, or simply no night lights at all. But a model like this shows that's really missing out on a critical aesthetic component of the game. The quieter background noise and the cricket sound in rural areas, the little headlights and taillights of automata, and truly phenomenal night-lighting such as that on Cockatoo's AIG Tower here. This is wonderful, this is a treat for the eyes. It brings sparkle to a 20+ year old game. Bravo! 5/5!

Je voudrais quelques macarons et un cafe au lait s'il vous plait - what do you mean you don't know French, this is a patisserie isn't it? Small and unassuming, but the details make this CS$$ bat shine - the brickwork, the lighting, the pergola-covered seating area. Well textured and appropriately modded for growable BAT fans. 5/5!

A Simpsons gag about Gehry projects has him crumpling up a sheet of paper and using it as the basis of his design. While one of the most important architects of his generation, his work is rather complex, abstract, dramatic and finished in gleaming materials. It is not easy to model. IDS2 has done a faithful recreation of one of the more restrained Gehry projects. The textures are superb, with a metallic quality. The modeling is faithful - some players may want to re-lot as a 2x2 given the flaring lines of the model and risk of "bleeding" in W2W environments. The modding is appropriate. A unique work and a fitting homage to one of the world's late, great architects. 5/5.

I want to praise you @Koonam. You worked hard on this and asked constructive questions of other BATters and molders, and you made countless fixes and revisions to get this wonderful BAT published. Your persistence and diligence is admirable. Additionally, this was not an easy choice of project. The modeling is complex as Beaux Arts buildings are. But you worked at it, you applied thoughtful textures, and the nightlighting is excellent. Bravo! The community is lucky to have you. 5/5!

Gude (Frankfurt dialect for "Hello") I'm living near Frankfurt and i know these building very well. I see it often when i'm cycling nearby. The Tower is located near the old European Central Bank Tower, nearby is the HSBC Deutschland @ Skyper Building Complex, the Gallileo Building, the Gallusanlage Park and the very "well known" Kaiserstraße. The main tenant of is actually Deutsche Bahn AG (DB) (German Railways). It grows very well and is detailed like the original. Thanks a lot.

Texture painting too? Oh my, you've just managed to make an astounding mod even more incredible. Absolutely fantastic work.

Gleaming skyscrapers get much of the attention in SimCity, but for true variety, you need additions to the "boring" as well. Houses and small apartment buildings, modest commercial businesses, and of course industrial lots, which are often overlooked. However, they're the backbone of cities, especially growing ones. Try and create a region without them and you'll stunt your community's growth. Here we have a wonderfully modeled I-HT addition from Simmer2, who is a delight to have back at Simtropolis. It's well textured, appropriately nightlit and well modded. It is not a center of attention, but it adds variety to industrial areas, serves an underserved niche in BATs, and makes playing the game simply more interesting. Variety is the spice of life, and it adds zest to SC4 too. Simmer2 has given us a tasty spice to use as we garnish our cities with quality custom BATs. Thank you Simmer2! 5/5!

Beautifully done! I love the style, and now that you've found your way with BAT4Blender, you absolutely must make more gems like this... right?

I agree with @simmering, there is almost nothing to add after @brancra's review. I only find such sophisticated words when I need to describe a whisky I just had ... Anyway, I wanted to give well deserved five stars for this wonderful creation ...

There is very little to add to @brancra's excellent review. I would like to draw attention to the brilliant design of the roof. Flat roofs like this, with very few structural elements can easily look monotonous and artificial. This one is the very opposite: The tiles look all different, their shades vary slightly and the roof is weatherworn and very realistic. It is a work of great attention to detail. A real treasure indeed!

A beautifully designed BAT with tremendous attention to detail. The top floor and roof are stunning. What makes it standout even more is the elegant night-lighting which is sublime.

@Kel9509 You're probably right. Since I don't play the simulation very often, I'm not sure how to properly assess the amount of work required. I'll let PIM-X decide for me. I want to create an agricultural lot to better understand IR Field and Prop Family. Before releasing it, I'll ask a few experienced players to test it so I can avoid making the same mistake. Don't be surprised if you receive a PM from me.

This is an EXCELLENT lot, Honolulu. Absolutely fantastic. It will go well in almost all cities' industrial sections. I am so glad your well-deserved lotting efforts have inspired you to upload! I hope to see more! (I would personally bump up the jobs to at least double, but that's just my preference)

Never thanked you properly for this one - but I really appreciate every single item here and you've done the sc4 world a good service by bringing these props into the game. Indispensable!

thank you for this beautiful building the previous reviews say it better than I can so I can at least say that the grow lot grows well and the plop with jobs works too an excellent addition to SC4

Aboveground cemeteries, voodoo spells, vampires and 300 years of history and mystery - New Orleans has earned its reputation as one of the most haunted cities in the United States. These are charming, well-modeled and textured mid-wealth homes appropriately modded to the Chicago tileset, suitable for any older cityscape. L'on laisse les bons temps rouler, y'all.

Hey!! They look fabulous! Can't wait to see what kind of development we're able to do with FA terraced houses! Will be a much more realistic game Thanks!

Jawdropping, this mod basically makes MMPs, T21s and much custom lotting redundant. Sure, they might still be a part of my workflow, but the number of times I've stopped during play, to mod or alter some annoying detail that's now gonna be solved by 'plop that there'. It's frankly bonkers to think we can do this City Skylines level stuff in SimCity 4! I have yet only simply tried it out, however I already know that this will indispensable for the scene creators out there. We can now deploy anything almost anywhere, its not simply a case of another method of doing things, but also its essentially a workaround for a lot of things you couldn't easily, if at all, do previously. Can't thank you enough for making this work.

Love the new HD props, especially the transformer boxes! I've been making an effort to include transformer boxes on a lot of my own lots because those things are everywhere, at least around where I live. Might have to switch to using these crisp detailed ones

Anonymous modeler eh? Based on how the glass and material shine, I put my guess on our dear Chinese batter or the recently retired batter. But still, thank you so much for putting all the lot together neatly!

Filler may not be a thriller, but it's the bulk of cities in real life, and the cities in SimCity 4 (at least, the ones that aren't all plopped). This building fills a convenient niche - we have a number of lovely early 20th century 1x2 and 1x3 buildings available for download, but 1960s-1980s filler tends to go ignored - after all, it wasn't our finest moment architecturally, when cost cutting came into fashion, and decor was abhorred. More important, we have a well-modeled, nicely textured, sumptuously lighted BAT here, the kind that really add bulk to a city like potatoes or noodles to a soup or stew - they aren't the selling point, but they provided a thickness, a density, and a hearty meal for our stomachs, just as we want our cities to be filled. The covered ground-level parking is a nice mid 20th-century touch. A welcome addition to our urban landscapes. 5/5!
