Welcome to Zenebach, a beautiful alpine city nestled in the heart of Neu Westfalen

Population: 525,711

Zenebach is the capital of the state of Zeddenick, and the third largest city in Neu Westfalen. A city of just over half a million inhabitants, it lies along the western spine of Neu Westfalen's alpine divide. located along the southern bank of Lake Evehalden, Zenebach has long been a magnet for international tourists.

You may remember Voss Arena from the 2014 AINVision held in the city, this 15,000 seat arena is also a newer addition to the city having been completed in 2010. The adjacent marina has existed since the city's founding in 1882 and serves as the largest mooring on the large alpine lake. Several smaller marinas have since sprung-up around the lake's inlet, reflecting a growth in the popularity of boating and water pursuits in the region.

The old Germanic bridge still crosses the river that feeds the lake. It is a popular spot for tourists to take photos and 'selfies'.

Zenebach's city park is a significant area of greenery that serves as a relaxation/break spot for the busy employees of the surrounding downtown area. Underneath it lies the large parking complex of the Alverna Spire.

Central park is a sprawling area surrounding a large natural lake, it also functions as a barrier between the noisy city center and the residential buildings on the opposite side. The city's main library can found just below it.

A bridge spans the entrance to the lake inlet. The large forest acts as a wind-break between the (sometimes very cold) lake breezes and the inner-city. Likewise the sheltered beaches it creates become excellent summer bathing spots.

That's it for now, I hope you like Zenebach. *:)

I can easily see a quality leap between this city and the one you showed on the first entry! Zenebach really shows your SC4 evolution, great job!

Very good work! May I recommend more close ups? You have a lot to show, don't be scared of using the second zoom level more often :-)

Wow. This city is so cool and has given me so much inspiration! I love the marinas, Downtown and seasonal trees just to name a few points! Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see what else you share. :)

Superb stuff, some really nice buildings in there and a great job using the water and marina to make it all even more interesting. Thumbs up from me!

I absolutely love the layout and clean look of your cities; I basically echo many other's sentiments. However, it just looks so... lifeless. I see about 6 cars on the road - and in a city as large as that, there should be a lot more. Plop down some traffic generators to add cars to the streets and some sims to your parks and sidewalks (either MMP or crowd lots), and you'll have a ten from me.

Oh blast, why have you forsaken me Photobucket! I'll really have to remember to jpg my images in the future, I normally use png's cause they're better quality. I'll try uploading them again with another hosting site. EDIT: re-uploaded to another site, will work now. :]

  • TekindusT - Thank you. Yes I've definitely gotten better since my last two, even though at the time I thought I had reached my pinnacle. I'm not sure I can go much better than this but I'm certainly gonna try.
  • v701 - Believe me, my first cities a few years ago were absolute rubbish - Maxis stuff everywhere. Even though perfection may not exist, I will still keep reaching for it (in-vain). :P
  • Kim Sunwoo & Ln X - Thanks, I could maybe use a few more. Although personally I'm not a huge fan of them since you don't get to see much.
  • Schulmanator - Thanks Cat-dude :P It took me a year (on-and-off) to finish this one.
  • 47pl - Glad you noticed. A lot of trial and error went into making the water areas, as I just don't think the fake water looks right for rivers.
  • 1131989 - Just the look I was going for, thanks heaps. :)
  • Wallibuk - I mostly kept it European. However the nation Zenebach is set in (Neu Westfalen) is a former south-Pacific colony (like New Zealand, but German), so it should have a little bit of other influences.
  • michae95l - That's great to hear. Happy to inspire others with my cities. :)
  • MilitantRadical - Thank you. I love doing modern cities, the hardest part is getting the waterfront looking right. Once that's done it's just a matter of keeping the building scale, style and colours correct, and of course, adding enough green space (but not too much).
  • jmsepe - Thanks jm, I will of course keep posting here as long as I'm still playing the game.
  • Map Guy - Thanks dude. This is easily the nicest city I've ever made, really happy with the way the waterfront turned out.
  • Prophet42 - A green city is a healthy city, and a nicer place to live :P You should see the pollution-map, it barely registers.
  • MrGovernor - I'm glad you managed to find some anyway, thanks for the 10 :)
  • nos.17 - Yeah I tried to get cars in the shots, but couldn't seem to get a lot (I assure you it's a 'real' functioning city though). Can you recommend a specific traffic generator? I'm not too familiar with them.

Looks like a very pleasant place to live in!! Love how you've integrated the new and the old.

Will follow your journal :)

Awesome, dude.
As for the "traffic generator so called plan" to add more cars, maybe you should just consider installing the NAM_automata_plugin_radical24,..it adds more cars and more persistent automata to make your roads a lil bit crowded and realistic. But it will also eat your system a bit unfortunately.

Nice city, love the style! But were did you find those beautiful water embankments? I mean those you can see at the same picture as the Germanic Bridge.

Akerbeltz - Thanks, hopefully it won't take me a year to update this year.

Rikujo - I see, I'll look into it.

andisart - Thanks for the awesome building, it's beautiful and I've always wanted to use it in one of my cities. It was very tricky giving such a building an appropriate surrounding.

Callesson - It's the Stanley park sea wall set - Link :)
