I have created a spreadsheet that lists STEX file downloads. It has the name of the download, the creator, what type of file, the dependencies, and the link to the download page. The first column is left open so you can check it if you've downloaded that particular one. I have a long way to go before being completed, but if anyone is interested in having a copy of it upon it's completion, then let me know how to upload it for everyone to use, that is if anyone would be interested. For all I know someone has already done this, but I enjoy doing it. I may need a few pointers on what to call certain downloads, so any input is welcomed. Thank you.

Whoa...!  Thank you....!   This looks like a monumental task, and quite useful, too.

Hi Cathy,

Do you have a similar catalogue about the PLEX (included the non-PEGasus uploads too, like Craig, Murimk, Paeng etc...)? I have a list, I guess it came from you, though not sure. I'm rebuilding the Pegasus part of the PLEX on my HDD currently (half ready) again, though it ends around 2012-ish (on the main PLEX category board) and webarchive only gives me the uploads lists per category up until the end of 2010 and sept 2012 in the case of the SPAM, but I can see differences between 2010-2012 in the main board. I think I'm able to recover like 99% of the contents (related to Pegasus), also Project ZIPping them (this mostly done) and probably updating all the 400+ readme files too (I'm not 100% sure about it, but there is a chance).
Anyway my problem is, that I see more content on Webarchive than in the list. For example the list originally didn't contain the The Terrain Kit (7in1) or others which are missing after 2009. Though the SPAM stuffs are more or less covered by the catalogue, but there are random missing data.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tibi

Yes pretty certain that was me and while the 27 omnibus articles were a merge of all the sites I'd indexed .... I'll have to check tonight but i think i still have all the separate lists on the new computer's harddrive as i would have transferred everything from the old computer.

Will sent you a PM later ..... think I might add it into the club as well cos quite a few of Paeng's files are still over there.

Hi Ledzepnut, this is excellent diligent work. *:golly:

Your project is a very useful addition for organizing access to files. Please do attach the spreadsheet(s) you create, because index lists like this are very helpful. *:yes:

We were concerned your post and the replies would get lost and buried in the Working On thread, so we've parsed them out to their own topic here.

I have a kind of working spreadsheet for my organization projects where I follow my progress with colour codes. I'm halfway through on Paeng's PLEX contents, soon I'm gonna have a complete list about 50+-ish individual uploads which were available on PLEX, but never got transfered to STEX. Thanks for @catty-cb, @CaptCity and @gwada971 for the continuous help.

@Cyclone Boom
Bit of a different matter, but is it possible to make file replacements on server level (more or less at once) instead of reuploading everything one by one? I mean I'm done wit the the PEG Project ZIP and organization (though need to go through on the readmes and do some fixes and re-direct the dependency links), but I'm wondering if it was possible to replace the current files with the updates without having them reuploaded one-by-one? (we are talking about 400+ uploads) Though, I'm having some other ideas regarding the PEG collection, but that's gonna be a different conversation.

@Tyberius06

Glad to hear your Project ZIP has been progressing nicely. Getting the missing 50 PEG files restored will be great too. *:)

While it is probably technically possible for Cori and I to setup a method for batch updating, the trouble is all the preliminary work needed would be similar (if not more) than manually uploading them as new versions. Each STEX file has hash strings added to their names on the server. These are what prevent duplicate named files conflicting with existing ones. Then they'd need querying in the database to find the exact names per zip. Additionally, the files are stored in folders for the month and year when they were uploaded (e.g. monthly_2022_01), and so unfortunately it's not like we can simply toss files into a folder and have them recognized. Then there'd be the file sizes too, which are stored in another database field. They'd need updating based on the size of each of the 400 (or however many) files.

So while it is something we wish could be done simply, it alas would be a substantial task. Of course, if figuring out such a method, any subsequent times such a batch process is needed would be quicker. But it's difficult to say whether it might take us weeks or months is the dilemma (or even might not be possible at all).

As such, we believe the manual uploading would be much more accurately assured and less time consuming overall.

If you'd like assistance with that, we can ask the staff (or other member volunteers) to help you with the task.

Let us know if so when the time comes.

Here is the Pegasus spreadsheet I created.

Thanks. We've downloaded it. *:)

I believe what you've made is more for us common peeps to locate files rather than assisting Tibi's ongoing reorganization of files.

I'm almost finished creating a spreadsheet for OnlyPlace4 files,

I look forward to this since I believe I've downloaded all of their work and this will serve as a crosscheck.

Ofc, if you have any difficulty, just let us know what you'd like it changed to and we can do the title edit.

I'm someone who loves my PC organized, or I go crazy, so I've created another spreadsheet with Simmer2 content with the dependencies. I know there are going to be many mistakes as well as things that I've missed. Please let me know so I can update it as needed. I hope this helps people with organization of downloads and plugins, it certainly helps me.

I want to thank Nick for his outstanding work. I love the Railroad and Industrial Lots, as well as many of the other lots.

It may be a good idea to change the name of this thread, as I will be uploading more spreadsheets of other content in the near future, that is if people download and use it. Thank all of you that commented in this thread, I appreciate it.

What a nice spreadsheet you made.

Thank you!
