I'm certainly in favor of having the bulbs and banner change for each holiday that uses them. Would be a lot of fun I think.

After the extended Christmas lights duration, we've now taken them down. I can confirm the supply of spare bulbs has been entirely depleted, which means there'd have been no way for us to continue replacing the broken bulbs, due to the usual suspects who kept breaking them.   (You know who you are!)

We'll try to remember to put them up again a week before Carnival, but it'll help if you could post here a few days earlier as a reminder.

Also, what colours should they be? We'll have to check with our suppliers, but they can very likely come in whatever other colours you'd like.

Wait... what!? It was Keyser Söze...    It had to be! I saw him creeping around. And there's no way I could have broken that many...

Sunflower Yellow, Competition Red, Caribbean Blue, Smokey Pink, Ogre Green, Aircraft White, Simtropolian Mauve, Dollar Green, Racing Yellow and European Blue.

Sorry for the delay.
Although the carnival party has been postponed to April, the carnival holiday continues on the same date: 01/03. Let me remember before. 
Look, at Carnival there are MANY colors, I think your supplier will have a hard time getting them all... 

If possible, I suggest the following:
yellow, orange, red, green, pink, white, blue

If the supplier doesn't have those colors, no problem. Carnival embraces any color!

Sounds great!

I can now confirm the order has been placed with our supplier, and they should arrive well in time before 1st March for the start of Carnival. We've also back-ordered a bulk supply for the few weeks afterwards, given there'll likely be a significant demand for replacing all the broken bulbs again.

There's a wee bit of confusion for when the lamps should be strung up here at ST. The original dates were to be 25 Feb to 5 March, then you made a post saying the holiday continues on 1 March (even tho the party is postponed until 20 April thru 30 April).

So, with all those dates in mind, when should the lights go up here at ST and how long should they stay?

The lights should have gone up at the beginning of February, as Mardi Gras is about a month and a half long holiday. It is usually the weeks leading up to, and ending at midnight, on Fat Tuesday(March 1). Ash Wednesday, and the 40 days of Lent follow, so the dates change every year.

For the cities that have made Mardi Gras a business(Rio, New Orleans, Venice and Key West), it is almost a 365 day holiday.

You've only got 3 days!

Here the big official parade, as well as the street carnival blocks (ie: mega agglomerations), are scheduled for the end of April, but as the holidays (recess days) remain, many people will celebrate.

And I will be able to visit Simtropolis more often  just to read topics...

Refresh the page, check which color starts on the left side, and that is the color you are allowed to break. How long does it take to clear them all?

I appreciate the existence of this thread request and discussion. Some days I break them all some days I avoid them, did actually break specific ones the other day to just have blue and yellow lights because of current events but then the colors changed on some, anyway I'd appreciate them being randomly put up for random reasons like holidays events etc. but maybe not 365 days a year so they are 'special'

Alas, since the usual suspects continued to break them at a similar rate as previously, we only ordered in sufficient supplies covering to today. Based on the December analysis, this was for 60,000 per day and so the remaining 22,839 light bulbs would only last a few more hours before the supply was totally depleted.

They'll be back at some point, maybe in a new colour scheme (and even before next Christmas).

It's great to see that the lamps are back.  What I'd really like to see are broken light bulb stats per user to see who is the most damaging person on this site. 

(Personally, I don't break them in a deliberate way. The nature takes its course. )

I love these, though it amused me when I couldn't work out where the little 'tinkling' noises were coming from. My bad for having so many tabs open at once.
My new game has been to see how long it would take me to eliminate all the bulbs if I can only tinkle one colour. It is a long game.

i feel like there should be a random chance of a bulb or two already being busted every time it's loaded; like, say 1% or 0.1% chance, just to make things interesting, lol
