which means it requires a re-write of the gridbalance.lua... as follows:

Oh, forgive me, for I not know what I was saying. I have no clue how involved your mod is, or what it takes on your end. Don't make it to hard on your self.

Looking at it again, it looks as if it is already done. Am I right?

It is, I just wanted someone to double-check my math... make sure I didn't mess something up in the translation from pure math to LUA code, the way I did with the loadbalance.lua. (pure math just lives in my head... LUA needs specifics! :^Þ )

Sorry to bother you if this is nothing. It just caught my eye as different from the rest. Its the "either" part that strike me as different. Just tell me its nothing and I am good.

    RobertaME_PrerequisitesHELP.jpg.e8734ed7fb45bbf20441e78240d91ef1.jpg

"Either" means either of the two supported 112 MW Fission reactors, either Coastal or Inland. So long as you have one or the other, you can build the Giant Fission Plant. It's unique among Fission plants in that it can provide Peak load usage. (I made up some gobbledygook to justify it in the definitions, otherwise it would be useless) At 800,000 MWh/month, the only use it could possibly serve would be to export it around the region, which means it's classed as Peak Load. (it basically makes power unimportant, which is why it has a $1,000,000 build cost and soaks up 1.2 million m³ of water)

Unless someone here thinks that a single city could use over 1,300,000 MWh per month... in which case I can revert it to Base Load only...

    Speak up now! :^Þ

Perhaps one day we can include a Tesla Power Storage Facility in that lineup.

Only if "one day" is "as soon as you post it to the STEX"! That is a BEAUTIFUL set and I already have the background work done to include power banking lots. All I have to do is calculate the load that this battery array represents in MWh and I can have it integrated into my mod in a few minutes! (assuming I every get things stable... just when I had things going good, I had to go and set myself back a few days by adding features)

Looks GREAT! Can't wait to try it out!

A name? Well, we have the SPAM, the NAM, the CAM...

How about the PAM? Power-grid Add-on Module

The main project I sort of tentatively labeled "Project LAMA: Load Allocation and grid Management Add-on" but that sounds kinda corny!

If anyone has any ideas that are better than Project LAMA or PAM, speak up.

I'll make a Poll after the Alpha release and see what people like. ;^)

Wow! Thanks for everyone's input! I have my favorites, but I'll set them aside and put them all in the poll soon.

On the up-side, the pre-alpha tests are going well. I had hoped to have a first release ready for today, but tomorrow will have to do. ;^)

I THINK I have most of the wrinkles ironed out, but we'll see what the rest of you all do to break it! :^Þ

    @RobertaME @Kloudkicker

If you can hang on another 24 hours I have a solution for those missing pieces. I'm about to release the props shown here along my new Tesla Power pack lots. Use the Tesla upload as a dependency (along the others you already have) then in the future when I'm ready to release SM2 Mega Prop Pack Vol 5 I will include a cleanitol file to clean my recently released lots of all the props in order to have a single pack. At that time I will notify you and the only thing you have to do is to change one link on your dependency list.

If you are ok with it then I will pack them. If not then I will hold them until I release my next mega pack.

    Let me know

What I can do is integrate the lot into my mod. I couldn't HOPE to make lots as well as you or @Kloudkicker (or any of a number of lotters here)

Figuring out proper MWh values to convert will take time, but in the end it'll enhance Intermediate power plants so that they can provide Peak Load power. Probably won't make the Alpha release, but I should have them fully integrated by the time I do the full release.

    You sir, are AWESOME!

After plopping one of the substation relots on uneven ground, I noticed the longer fence lines don't like it to well. I am going to use the shorter ones. No biggy.ShowingOff.jpg.4cfd2c15cbf0023917c24776476f0a83.jpg

See anything strange in the picture?

    232 kWh per power pack, it looks like there is 4 Powerpacks for each inverter. let's see.....4pack x 10 inverters per section x 4 section = 160 Powerpack.......x232 kWh = 37.12 MWh....

each inverter can support up to 10 Powerpacks, just fyi. don't know what the green boxes are, they are not a part of the Powerpack.

I see what appears to be a Transit Enabled Street lot up the street, with a 25 kVA transformer!

If that is what it looks like, that is SO awesome! All I would need then is a 50 kVA TE lot like it and that's all the transformer lots I need to fill out the options!

    Thank you, kind stranger! LOL!

To those not in the know... (i.e. everyone here but @Skyroguen and I) we know each other IRL. He has first-hand knowledge about these units, (if he wants to say HOW he has that knowledge, I'll leave that to him) so I trust his data enough that I won't bother checking his sources. 37 MWh it is for the big lot, so 18 MWh for the next smaller, 7 MWh for the next step down, and 3 MWh for the 1x1 lot.

Edit: now all I need to figure is cost, jobs, etc.

@Skyroguen hello. Nice to meet you. Glad you can join.*:8)

You might not want to look at my recent project, overhauling some substations. Probably will make you cringe. But it looks more "alive" now, I think.

It looks good for a WIP!

@Skyroguen and I have been playing SC4 for years. We had almost finished building our airport when The Great Hard Drive Crash of 2019 happened and we lost the region files. :,^(

Oh well. Now we'll be able to start over with BETTER stuff!

@CorinaMarie, I was wondering if you had some time to help out a little. I was explaining the Parent Cohorts used in the WSSNCOPFL to @RobertaME. She is interested in maybe going a similar path with a batch of new lots we are making for her new mod.  RobertaME would like a copy to look over and I wanted to see what your thoughts are? Since it is not released yet, I figured its best to ask you how to go about this.

    Thank you, Kloudkicker

    @Kloudkicker

That'd be cool to implement. Send her a copy of the latest version via PM.

It'll prolly be apparent how it works when peeking in Reader. As you'll both know, just be sure to use unique IIDs.

Not to distract away from the excellent progress in this thread from @RobertaME and all involved...

But just a FYI for anyone wondering what Cori's Cohort Controller method entails, see our thread here for more info.

Ctrl+F in browser for The Controller Cohort File and it'll jump you down to see the techy details. *;)
