    About the skywalk; 

    I decided to model it separately since I believe I hit the limit of vertices. Yes there are some parts to be reduced, but I dont think it's going make a great change like 10k less vertices. So skywalk will be modeled separately, think it as sorta modular station :P

    I will finish remaining one platform then start to merge components, uv mapping, then slicing it to pieces in order load it up to CS, also LOD making. 

    So much time spent, and it's far from released.

    Daaaamn that's awesome! It looks just like! :D And as for the skywalk, that's fine! Having a little customization is always great! Do you think I could a have a look at the model? I just really want to see it in person!

    Hey, just bringing this thread back because there's been no activity in a while. What's going on with Union Station? Haven't heard  from @R3V0 in a while.

    Game's "integrated" Sub Building Enabler is technically broken as we speak, I couldn't implement blender models into the game. The model itself is too complex for ingame SBE to handle it. I had much more options before honestly. 

    The main hall has to be separated in 2 parts, then there's trainshed which will be in two parts in order to keep quality high. The thing is train tracks has to be connected the very first section, which means they will be outside the grid. In that case, i have to "guess" where those tracks will be but. So I'm working on blender to keep model ready for possible transfer to CS, when the game has a proper SBE.

    Progress update: 

     

    I returned working on Toronto Union, I am also recording the process to release later on. So far, I UV mapped the station. I will partially merge according to the separation. I am planning each section to be 8x8 tiles so that it can fit via subbuildings.

    Not sure about the color palette I used, I didn't use any photoreal image (except the interior facade top and main entrances) but I i get a feeling the color is not exactly the same)

    Interior facade has the updated color while the exterior top side has the old one. Gonna update it along the way.

    @R3V0 - Looking amazing! The stone does look a little green to my eye, but it's pretty close. Any chance we could get a variant with a simpler "Union Station" signage? I know it's from Toronto, but when I place it in my city, it doesn't make sense for it to be built by the Toronto Terminals company for Canadian railroads!

    What's wrong with having a Canadian station in your city ? Booo.

    Jokes aside, it's technically possible. The front section will be a sub building, so in theory, I can reload on asset manager with different face-lift. I'm assuming the "integrated" sub building manager will handle that, the entire station will be composed of 10 subbuilding segments.

    I am so excited for this - even more so than Metro Overhaul! I have been waiting for this for so long, and @R3V0 just took up the project and is doing such a great job! Once again, (because I really don't know how else to thank you) amazing job REVO, and keep up the great work! 

    This is the best Christmas present ever, even if it's after Christmas! :3

    Progress Update:

    Main building, relatively the most difficult part is finished I think. Each face literally took a day to arrange, especially those side entrances were the difficult ones, 700 faces to place, individually. 

    Now, I am still not sure about the color, I just dont like it. I prefer old greenish color I used on most of the complex. 

    Any feedback is appreciated, since I have problems with colors (I'm kinda colorblind, I rarely distinguish red and green)

    On the last image, you will see three tints of base color; in top the first one (which will be fixed, on left the one i prefer and on the right, the new mix I tried)

    It's all too green. Just eyedrop some values and compare the hue to pictures of the real thing.

    The real thing is kind of beige - the hue is red/orange/yellow but yours are hovering around yellow/green.

    And I'm guessing yours is going to be way too bright as well.

    Meanwhile, progress update: 

    Atrium and platforms are done. Work to be done before separation and LOD mapping 

    * Moap covers

    * Other half of the station

    * Entrances and Tunnels 

    * Windows on the rooftop will be separate plop assets

    * Front side facelifting

    * Making of unique assets (flags, cables on top side, since  workshop doesn't have cable routing as asset 

    The whole complex will be 13-14 subbuildings.

    I will also work on a system, that one platform can be used for 2 trains simultaneously; meaning stop points will not be on center but on close to the edges of the platforms, so you can have 2 stop locations on 1 platform, in order to place end stops for opposite directions. With that, in theory, you can 23 train stops in one single station, which is crazy. I might modify and separate last 3 platforms and make them serve as MOM.

    Looks great, you got the textures on point! If I remember correctly, there is actually a TTC subway stop somewhere in the main building, so you might be able to make that work with MOM.

    TTC stop is sort of separate out front... barely connected. I'm not sure its super crucial to combine in this asset as one thing. Might make sense for the UP express track (The one closest to the main building I think) to be metro. Looking great so far I can't wait! This is such a complex project I can't believe you're taking it on!

    @Jamonbread It's not really separate, it's more like another entrance. I think it is sort-of crucial because a big station like this should definitely have connections other than road. As for the UP tracks, that would be pretty nice since you could have a dedicated platform specifically for a train to the airport. I don't think that anyone has made a Union - Pearson train asset on the Steam Workshop though...
