Long time since my last post. Just started playing again so here is two shots to show that im still alive of a new "desert" city (very much a WIP):

Yeah i think the map were to "static" for me. And the lack of water was something I didnt like aswell.

So here's the new build. A more mountainous map which is a bit more challenge than the flat one.

Havnt gotten so far, just plopped down the main station and the first few "rows" of buildings.

Still a WIP!

It's going to be interesting to see this one develop with such a hilly terrain!

Here's hoping this build inspires you more. Sometimes our creativity just fails to get fired up and certain project lose momentum. Sometimes returning to an abandoned project after a period away lets us see things with a fresh eye and new perspective. Might be worth a revisit further down the track!

A good point mutton noir, although i change quite alot of assets when switching map, which means all old maps will be quite "destroyed" if i go back

Love the port area, and perfect use of that curved airport terminal as the cruise ship hub.. I was wondering how I could use it, now I have some inspiration.

Hey!

Been home the last week and so i've actually had some time to play!

One of the marinas with the harbor in the background;

 

The hilly landscape creates quite a challenge....

...especially when you want to place down larger buildings!

The three-level station (two if you dont count the by-pass track)

 

Quite dirty and nasty looking industry!

New city with a new focus point; history!

The build (atleast the old part of town) will be with the focus on historically buildings.

 

There will be quite alot of canals aswell as some terrain heigh difference.

Hai!

Progress has been made!

Part of the town where hills meat the canals. Quite a few old historical buildings here!:

 

By far the largest building in the city so far. Quite beautiful!

 

The ugly tramway is hidden under ground thank god! :-D

 

Speaking of ugly; the railyard.  Just a small bit completed so far:

Not much activity these days on this site it seems, but I will continue to post here for a while more atleast.

The central station is complete! (much of it is below the ground level)

I like your station. The rail layout looks very realistic, especially with the small shrubs between the tracks!

Only problem I see with your new project is that there are so many styles mixed. It looks like every single block is from a different era.

Yeah you are right, I've mixed all the different European styles together haha. I find it abit boring just using one style. I wanted to only go with the Paris ones, but the variation was a little bit to limited for me.

Hey!

Going to start with a few overview shots. The main additions are that I've added a more modern part of the city (not done yet) aswell as a football stadium.

 

So this is the modern part of the city, which is located on the other side of the river. Not much room to build on, which means you will have to go higher:-)

 

The newly added stadium;

 

A mix of old and new;

 

Plenty of beaches around!;

 

The main station on the left and a small cargo/industrial station to the right;

 

Thats if for now, im currently building an small airport which i think will look quite nice.
