Lol. Nice photoshopping. I don't know if anyone has brought this up defore, but is the below scenario maxis or is it caused by some download?

Yeah, that happens when you install a water mod or something like that. You need to enter and "save and exit to region" with each city before the graphics for it update on the region view. In fact, the same is true about any graphical change. If you start a city from scratch, in one sitting build it up to a large size, save, and then quit the game or exit to the region with a seperate command, it'll still be blank in your region view. Only "save and exit to region" and "save and quit" cause the region view to be updated.

A much more drastic example of this came back in September of 2003 with the release of Rush Hour. Pre-expansion, there was no map option in the region view, just the aerial photo view. As such, after installing Rush Hour, you'd have to enter and "save and exit to region" each city before the map for it would display properly. And that meant photo ops like this:

I know I posted that very picture in this very thread back when it was new, but since this forum deletes pictures and attachments over three years old, it's gone now. So there it is again.1.gif

Hello all,

Since the SC4 General Discussion forum is getting awfully crowded with stickies, I'm going to dislodge this bit of fluff and let it waft in the breeze with the rest of the common threads.

Here's a graphics glitch.  When they were building the parking lot for the library, they went too far.

Okay ... I've played Sim City 4 many times ... never seen this.  I am using the NAM.  Don't remember which setting exactly.  Here's some marathan pedestrians.  Look how far they are walking to work.

Marathan Pedestrians ... walking a long way to work.

"That is far"... Pfft. I go that distance roughly twice each day, to and from school... no bus service where I am. Lazy striker idiots. And I'm not even fit!

Love this thread though, spend probably too much time lurking around...
