100 year old crap that should have been bulldozed loooooong ago.  No harmony, just a wicked collection of clashing colors, styles, porches, overhangs, and rooflines that make no sense.

Much better to tear them out and replace them with a parking lot & a wal-mart.

im hoping thats sarcasm. I think those are cool. Some of them could use a new paint scheme though.

The world does not need anymore Wal-marts. These are usually hideous boxes at the back of a parking lot bigger than a few football fields. Two images from home.comcast.net/~mrkent_com/walmart/

Walmart Store #2865

Spokane, Washington

Ugly! Also check out this one. The image was too large to show here. Hideous stuff... I'd much rather see those old houses, even though some desperately need a new colour scheme.

Yeah, those Walmart buildings truly are hideous. But you gotta give it to them, atleast all the average plump Middle-class suburbanites who drive there in their huge SUVs gets some excercise hiking across those massive parking-lots.

I think the Olympic Stadium is kind of nice... WAY to expensive though, isn't Montreal still paying for it? lol.

Another ugly one... The American Embassy in Ottawa Canada. Yuck. No offence to Americans, but this is not a nice embassy.

medium

The building itself is just... meh... not very nice, but not hideous either... Looks like a prison. What is hideous is those stupid "temporary" baricades around it that have been there since slightly after 9/11. I can't recall if they are less ugly now, but they are still there in some form, blocking a whole lane of traffic on the two main roads that go past this monstrosity on either side.

This monstrosity is Trinity Car Park in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England.

I live quite close to it. It was used in the film 'Get Carter' and is a listed building.

I gives me a headache everytime I drive past it.

I agree with this one! I pass by that building a lot, the thing's a fortress!

any building that actually makes you feel uneasy when you walk past it probably isn't very good.

I wish I had thought of those words myself because I agree entirely.

Seriously, I can't stand these old shopping malls! People should go to nicer ones with swanky entrances.

Maximum image is 800 x 600 - MM

On behalf of the United States of America I would like to personally apologize to the people of Ottawa for any emotional harm and/or blindness caused by the disturbing ugliness of our federal prison er, embassy.

I would tolerate it without all the fences, road barriers, spikes, security outposts, cameras, and bomb proof windows.

Oh well thanks for the apology, at least we have three great museums in the area to make up for it.

All those piece of crap shopping plazas need to be destroyed, What a Waste of Space, it makes me so angry that they build these HUGE plazas on all 1 story stuff, when they could conserve space and build more than one story...

I hate that crap

I don't think anyone's posted this:

767.JPG

In addition to the fact that it is ugly, the short story (as I know it) is: Construction began on a hotel that was halfway between Fairbanks and Anchorage, AK.  Constuction was never completed.  Some say the fire marshalls put an end to it, while others say that road improvements made the drive easier, and nobody needed a hotel in the middle of a (now) relatively short drive.

Well, if you're actually serious, maybe we should get rid of all the other old art we have along with all those "hideous old buildings"?

I mean, who needs famous works of art by Leonardo da Vinci, Michalangelo, Picasso, Mozart or Beethoven, when it's all outdated anyways?

By the way, i'm being sarcastic, for those who don't realize.

I think it's called MCWFC. i don'tr think they will build that monster because its height and place. People there fear that another earthquake will hit the city and that's the reason why Mexico City doesnot have tall buildings.quote>

Mexico City HAS tall buildings 29.gif... not really really tall ... but hey, 225 meters high in seismic ground is something, isn't it? 44.gif

And that Insurgentes Building is horrible, hopefully they'll tore it down to build a beautiful... errr... Starbucks 22.gif, well another 100-130 mts tower like those sprouting in Reforma Avenue.

Forget my bad english...

150630571_6a315913fe.jpg I know there are uglier out there, but this is still pretty ugly. Moreso for the fact that it is sitting on prime riverfront property, it's frikkin huge, and looks like a giant windows box with an ugly 60s thing just slapped onto the front end. Not to mention the trash chute on the side facing the river. Here's to hoping they relocate that dump and redevelop that whole property. There's a riverwalk going down the side of the building, could make for some great riverfront boardwalk-style retail, and would be a great location for some condos.
