Originally posted by: psteverific Great close ups, everybody. I've really been enjoying this threadRandomInsanity: I can see that... sort of a cross between the Byward market and the Sparks street mall, eh? Actually, that third picture caught my eye as well... the way you have it set back from the avenue kind of reminds me of the Supreme Court of Canada (although the building itself looks a bit more like the National Archives building, IMO). quote> you got it! I'm actually surpirsed anything grew there at all, considering all the transit I needed to make it work. Darn thing probably costs me money to keep it alive. oh well. I like your city as well, its realistic, and still very good looking at the same time. -

Hey guys Here's some closeups from my city Diomira, might end up turning into a CJ if I ever get finished. First is my downtown pedestrian market area, inspired by Ottawa, Canada, The city hall is bottom right, and the courthouse is bottom left. (seems I forgot to crop some of the menu): City Hall: Courthouse: And my mayor's house on a secluded hill somewhere else: -
update your game, someone will come after me with a link, im sure.

The worst building in the world
RandomInsanity replied to tcx's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I would tolerate it without all the fences, road barriers, spikes, security outposts, cameras, and bomb proof windows. Oh well thanks for the apology, at least we have three great museums in the area to make up for it. -
Buildings udawaj?ce, if have do not access to way?

That happens to me frequesntly when I place new zones. I believe it is just the computer trying to figure out the transportation routes. -
The worst building in the world

Originally posted by: Skyfire2275 I think the Olympic Stadium is kind of nice... WAY to expensive though, isn't Montreal still paying for it? lol. Another ugly one... The American Embassy in Ottawa Canada. Yuck. No offence to Americans, but this is not a nice embassy. The building itself is just... meh... not very nice, but not hideous either... Looks like a prison. What is hideous is those stupid "temporary" baricades around it that have been there since slightly after 9/11. I can't recall if they are less ugly now, but they are still there in some form, blocking a whole lane of traffic on the two main roads that go past this monstrosity on either side.quote> I agree with this one! I pass by that building a lot, the thing's a fortress! any building that actually makes you feel uneasy when you walk past it probably isn't very good. -

BSC Raised Park Monorail to Bus Transfer Station

I use the no fires and riots mod, I started to get really sick of that stuff after being interrupted from my important work to send 12 firetrucks to one tiny little fire. These are generally the last thing I'll consider for an area, after education, health and police anyways. I imagine however that fire coverage would have some impact on desirability, although I don't know for sure.

So, how do you feel about Toronto?
RandomInsanity replied to dslr.cow's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Ottawa's better (coming from someone who used to live near toronto) -
ramps are really hard to design around due to their size. Sometimes the author will choose not to in order to make a better looking building, I'm sure they mean to offence to those with disabilities.
