0x5dac1980 is in the "HybridRailway_L1_Exemplars.dat" at position #24 in reader.

The LHD paths are for Left hand drive use.

Hi!

Sorry for the interruption.

Try putting the file in the root plugins folder so It loads last.

if that does not work the instance is 0x5dac1980

Admittedly I did not test since I was just waking up.

Still early here in Australia.

Thanks for your patience.

Do NOT put it into the root of the plugins. Put it into either the same folder where the HRW exemplars are (Network Addon Mod\2 Network Features\Hybrid Railway (RRW-RHSR)\b_HybridRailway_Exemplars\) or into the 8 Texture and Drive Side Support folder.

The load order is
SC4 Install folders (program files, or GOG etc...)
then Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins root

Then the folders alphabetically and subfolders. If you put anything into the root of the plugins that will be overriden by a file with the same ID if it's in a subfolder.

Here is something strange with hybrid rail. It appears to be jumping transit lots.

This is an issue with me because I like to run just the electric monorail train and keep the RRW passenger train on the RRW Tracks.

If I put the Tram in Ave to Subway/URail Transition piece up against the Hybrid rail line it will spawn RRW trains onto the hybrid rail line.

If I move it one tile away as in the picture this will not happen.

I created a station with just High speed rail (monorail) and a separate RRW platform lot to put next to it. The RRW trains jump over to the Hybrid rail even when there are no transit switches on the hybrid rail lot for rail.

What would Cause this??????????

Hi @Ricca_111... A little more information might help to clarify things. What is it you are trying to do? Simply dragging the streets and highways doesn’t work? Do other NAM features work? Are you seeing a red cursor?

Have you used a previous version of NAM? If so, did you manually delete all related NAM files from the plugins? This must be done before installing the newer versions of NAM.

It seems some problem occurred during the installation

You need to perform a clean NAM installation

    Redownload NAM 45 again

Before installing NAM 45 you need to go to Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins and delete the Network Addon Mod folder

After doing this procedure you can install NAM directly using the NetworkAddonMod_Setup_Version45.jar file (If you have already applied the 4GB Patch)

I installed again the 4GB patch and NAM, after deleting it, in this order but nothing changed
Is it normal that after the installation of NAM the installer is still opening and i have to close it? However in the text appeared the "All components installed successfully" msg

The installer that does not close is normal. If the clean installation of NAM does not work try to see this tutorial before you are not understanding how it works. If the problem persists then we need to examine the case more carefully

Question for @Ricca_111--which controller did you install for NAM 45? Open your game, go to the end of the Highways Menu, and hover with your cursor to check which NAM version you have installed. It'll specify the version number and controller type.

What you're describing looks to me as your controller not matching your network feature files.

Agree with Lucario, if it’s only the RHW tools causing problems, most likely you didn’t install the Full / RHW controller, which you need if you want to use the RHW. The installer can’t automatically make selections based on other selections. So it’s possible to install the RHW content without the controller needed for it to work.

I recently noticed the Flex turn lanes don't have streetlights, has that always been the case? I don't recall if it ever used to include them or not.

    Thanks.

I was looking into updating NAM to 45 from 36, wondering how I can transfer over the BTM, drag and drop? or more complicated?

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Yes, just be sure it is in a location that loads after NAM (as the 'z___NAM' folder did in previous NAM versions). There may be some issues due to modificatios/additions in newer NAM versions, but it appears pretty normal when I've used it in this manner.

Indeed, BTM works just as it always did, it is after-all only a cosmetic reskin of the monorail. Now that the z___NAM folder is gone, just add one zLoadAfterNAM (honestly you can name it anything if it starts with a z), put any mods that alter NAM content there and you should be golden.

I need to find time to put together the updated BTM (and ML EL Rail) files so they can be released as official NAM options. Since I was the only person maintaining these mods for years, I wanted to handle that process, but RL has been a killer the last few years, but I will get round to it eventually. However, there hasn't been a huge addition of new content that affects either mod, so they still hold up pretty well, I think the draggable FTL crossings are about the only thing I've not got planned for the proper release.

Simple test, temporarily move the Network Addon Mod folder out of Plugins to somewhere SC4 won't see/load it, for example to the desktop. Does the game now load successfully? If it does, I assure you the 4GB patch isn't applying properly.

We need to establish before moving forwards if this problem is only present when the NAM is or not, this is a very common problem sadly. If you do not intend to make use of the RHW part of NAM, then you can re-install the NAM selecting the LowRAM/No RHW controller instead, which doesn't require your game to be patched to work.

of course it loads without it, i tried already. the question is why the 4gb patch is not applying correctly. can someone send me an executable of game and I'll see how it goes?

How would I know that? It's a very important step to establish.

As for sending you a pre-patched .exe, that's not going to happen, it's totally against the rules and probably wouldn't work anyhow, digital versions of SC4 tend to use DRM, so it would know the file wasn't from your install.

So why isn't the patch applying properly?, well that's probably more to do with your computer/OS than anything else. If you have altered the default security settings or otherwise installed 3rd party security software, most likely that is blocking the patch from being applied. Essentially it sees you are trying to update an .exe and assumes it must be a security risk, so just blocks it without bothering to ask you or mention it.

Some users report having success by simply finding the SimCity 4.exe file (located in the game's install DIR's Apps folder), then moving it to an unprotected location, in other words not inside the Program Files folder, for example again a temporary folder on your desktop or in the root of your C drive. Run the 4gb_patch.exe (do this by right clicking it and selecting Run as Admin), then point it to where you placed the SimCity 4.exe. Once that's finished, move the .exe back to it's previous home and if it works, then indeed some security setting on your machine was blocking the application from patching it in place.

If your problem is with third party security software being over-protective, you may need to white list SC4, it's folders and the 4gb_patch application before any of this can work. Otherwise if you are feeling brave you can temporally disable such software whilst you patch SimCity 4, if you do this I would recommend disabling your internet connection whilst doing so.

Well the simple fact is the patch isn't being applied and there isn't another good reason why.

The only other advise I can offer you is to remove the current NAM install and re-install the LowRAM/No RHW controller.

I did make a video showing the patch process, perhaps you aren't doing it correctly?, I assure you that patch if it had worked, would resolve your issue. Without it SC4 will as a 32-bit app be limited in the amount of RAM the OS will let it use, which is why the 5 million extra lines of RUL code causes the game to run out of memory whilst loading. If you can't patch your SC4 .exe, you can't use RHW.
