Would some control over bridges be possible? :)

Ooh, that's interesting.  Unfortunately, as you may have guessed, it's totally predictable.  The station consists of two lots, connected by an overhanging building.  Unfortunately, the BTM network has no way of knowing that that overhang is there - hence, the bridge.  The only possible solution here would be an option to turn off all bridges for the BTM.  We could look into that.

 

That's not the BTM, it's basic functionality of Moonlight's ElRail mod, all the two-tile intersections look like that.

 

However, as Z meant, the only solution would be to remove Moonlight's ElRail mod.

 

Actually, you wouldn't have to remove the mod.  Just convert the Maxis AVE-4 to two parallel OWR-2's as they pass under the ELR and that green arch won't appear. ;)

I don't know if this is possible but I'll ask. I am new to all the NAM stuff and I have learned a great deal through trial and error. My question is this, is there anyway to make intersections with FAR's? I have found that when I have to angle a road or highway when I want to make an intersection I have to straighten out the network because I am not allowed to cross that section as the road turns red when I do. I know you can make intersections work with the regular networks of avenues and OneWay's but the TuLEP's don't want to cooperate then either. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Here's a picture of what I mean.

Fractional Angle Avenues have no intersection capability whatsoever at present.  As those pieces are standard puzzle pieces (non-FLEX), that's why you're getting the "Cannot place on top of reserved tiles" message.

Thanks Tarkus, kinda thought there wasn't any way to make it work. I'm getting more familiar with the different aspects of the NAM so my road building is getting a bit better. I'll just have to make do with what I've got. Thanks for the reply.

One thing I find missing is tram in ave over RHW GLR etc.

 

I would love to change my ave bridges over the RHW to include GLR but theirs no pieces especially ones that support mis.

 

I was wanting to roll out a extensive GLR round my main CBD and surrounding high density suburbs but I cant do it due to the ways I have my Ave bridges

 

Like this for example would be great if it had GLR though the middle of it is is very much needed also too bad theirs no stations that can do from the rail to the ave over the rail to bus or glr.

 

I have a few of these bridge setups throughout my main cbd including one for the high density residential on the other side of the CBD with a RHW 6s in between. You can see at the top of the image in the post ave over rhw bridge one of the biggest points I would need and love a glr in ave in that bridge and the road at the bottom of that image over the RHW also.

Hello, I'm new to this forum, although perhaps the oldest Sc4 fan (I am now 66 years old and retired. And thank you, I accept your marks of respect ...).

 

Firstly, congratulations to the NAM team for this incredible work produced during your free time!

So, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I'm a little frustrated because of One Way Roads (I know it's easier said than done ...)

 

I put myself in mind to reconstruct the island of Manhattan as accurately as possible: I check every street with google streetview, wikimapia maps (accurate to measure distances), etc ... A fun way to travel virtually through the City and learn free ... (I live in Belgium)

 

But Manhattan is essentially One way roads and One way Avenues, some 4 lanes, 5 lanes, with intersections, ....

 

I see many post on RHW but little on the NWM and especially on OWR and their intersections.

I understand that there is a unresolved technical problem with OWR on 2 tiles (owr4 & 5). I read this : << cars on OWR-4/5 are going in circles in the middle of the road, due to some oddities with the default OWR network's "tidal flow system" (the system allowing simple drag conversions to flip the direction of an OWR) >>

 

OK, but in this case, why have we these OWR4 & 5 in the NWM menu? It's annoying to see these vehicles  going around in circles and crashing constantly. Are these OWR on 2 tiles purely aesthetic ? It seems then useless?

 

Is there any hope seeing this problem solved in the future ?

Hello fellow Belgian. This recently came up on Devotion as well: link. So in short, it's a visual issue (since automata are purely visual). Two-tile OWRs are fully functional for the traffic simulator.

Welcome to Simtropolis.

 

Well, I don't feel so lonely any more.  It is nice to have a contemporary (I'm 75).  I think you'll have to wait for V32 for general fixes to NWM.  Seems RHW was the big one for this go around along with a general revolution in distribution policy.  However, one of the NWM guruzim should be able to give you a better answer.

My SimCity 4 crash every time i try to load any city ,it always crash(it is actually still running ,but it is invisible ,so i can't alt+tab to it).

My Pc Spec:

Core I5 3.2GHZ Ivy

Gtx 650 non-ti 1gb

8 gb ram 1600mhz

Win 7 64 bit.

Is it possible at this time to convert MAVE-6 to two parallel RHW 6-S's at this time?  I noticed I can convert from OWR-3 to RHW-6S just fine, but trying the same with MAVE-6 just breaks everything up.  Wanted to be sure it's either a bug or just not a feature before moving forward with a setup I'm trying.  Thanks.

Well, you can't transition the MAVE-6 to a dual 6S, but you can transition the RD-6 to a dual 6S.

(MAVE is no longer a supported name; They're now RD.)

You have SC4 original without the expansion pack to Deluxe (Rush Hour).  You cannot use any mods or lots made after 2004.  You should upgrade.

Might be simpler to get a downloaded copy of Deluxe from Amazon or GamersGate.  Cost is about the same, and you get a fully patched game that does not require a CD drive.

I have a question about the elevated rail.  I installed the new NAM and since that time my elevated rail is strangely multicolored.  Is anyone else experiencing this?  I may be unrelated.  If so, anyone know what it might be?

Same problem as shown here I presume... Rerun the NAM installer and be sure to check the cooler color texture for the elevated rail alternate implementation in the custom installation. This will wipe out your current NAM folder, and the faulty warm color texture file

I haven't played this game in a while. Is there a link to a manual for the new NAM?

Actually, there's nothing wrong with the warm color texture file.  The problem is that it doesn't get installed...

Yep.  That was it.

 

I haven't played this game in a while. Is there a link to a manual for the new NAM?

Look in the Documentation subfolder in your NAM folder.

Thanks for the link Swordmaster. So, as Tarkus said « The automata are stupid and they’ll do stupid things ».  Too bad. Also, I noticed he said that there would be a possibility to switch that thing to being AVE-based. I'm not sure I really understand the principle, but only that all hope is not lost. Maybe for the NAM ver32 ???!!

My opinion is that the property of allowing simple drag conversions to flip the direction of an OWR is not really necessary. It does’nt seem difficult to reconstruct an OWR if it was the wrong direction.

The NAM has some glitches, but this is the funniest! If someone jumped off a cliff, would you? The white car did. It followed the red car. Anyway, I used the RHW neighbor connector  and now people jump off the cliff.

The five sets of new diagonal concrete walls do not seem to work at all - after placement, the object is basically invisible and I can see the grass beneath it (I can select and bulldoze it, though). I guess the textures are acting up? Has anyone else experienced something like this?

How come RTL (Road Turn Lanes) aren't working for me in Simcity 4. That when I make an intersection, the lanes wont show. Anyone know why and can help me.
