Or what you could do is request a custom Lot in the BAT section that looks like a tunnel entrance and converts incoming traffic to subway traffic. Then you should be able to create underground tunnel systems using the subway tool. (blahdy's Boston Big Dig does this already, so it's possible).

I have always thought that we need a modd that greatly increaces waterfront desirability. I mean, here in south Florida, anything that could even be concidered waterfront is instantly close to a million dollars. I'm tired of seeing CJs with all the highrises so far from the sea. In real life, everyone wants a view, especially those with deep pockets.

I found both tutorials for custom query's but neither one covered importing custom sound for them, anyone have an answer where to look?

There is no such property available. However, there is an unused property called Slope Effect, which could be used to increase desirability to build on slopes.

However, that property is included in the Developer exemplar and changing that would interfere with the CAM. If there is interest for it, I might include it as an option in a future release of CAM.

Download a lot with an existing custom sound file, eg. Geoffhaw's BSC EU Flag Set v2.

Rename and open the file BSC EU Anthem.dat in Reader and generate a new IID for the TRK file.

Import your own WAV file and delete the existing WAV file.

You may change the IID for the WAV file to the same as for the TRK file.

Change the XA instance of the TRK file to point to the IID of your WAV file.

Test the sound in Reader by pressing the Play button.

Then set the SFX: Query Sound property in your building exemplar to point to the IID of your TRK file.

Use the 10xSpeed option included with NAM. I doubt you would need any higher network speeds than that.

ok, after much trial and error i have manipulated an in-game query following the tutorial. but the background pic i imported in reader does not show in the game. the query shows the changes in size i made but where the pic should be is completely blank. nothing but a window which isn't what was on the UI preview. any thoughts?

Ok, how do you get the snow on your mountains, like only on the peaks. Also none of my custom buildings light up i read the readmes and they said the night-lights work, what should i do.8.gif

I looked through some of the earlier posts and some of the things that I thought were good ideas no one even said if they were possible:

could someone write a mod to install water pipes automatically under all roads and streets. This would significantly reduce Carpal tunnel for all of us, and save a lot of time. I would even venture to offer a reward in the way of a contribution to Simtropolis in the name of the person who could do this successfully.

will it be possible for modders to make an elevated railroad/monorail w/ station directly above an avenue or highway? Just to conserve space for transportation

Hello, can someone please make power plants that earn the city money.Maybe 0.10 simloens per megawatt or however but please make it realistic

A data view that shows the density (in jobs/citizens) in all the different wealths and types of jobs, on a city map. That way it would be easier to place schools and hospitals, and things like that. And it would be fun to see where everything is

Hi, I've got a request concerning dirt roads. I've downloaded Pegasus' rural roads but they only go dirt when they are running directly up against farm zones. If they touch any other kind of zone they revert back to streets again. Basically what I want is a mod that will make all streets into dirt roads, and all roads paved with dirt footpaths (sidewalks in US, pavements in UK etc) Pegasus' mod gives me roads with dirt footpaths, but the streets are only dirt when they run up against farms.

Is anyone able to make a mod that does this? I don't want lots either, I want actual, lay-em down roads.

Sorry if this sounds demanding.

Ok, I've downloaded Trolca's dirt roads, but I don't like the grassy bits on the side. What I want is a dirt road - just dirt and nothing else, that stays dirt no matter what zone it touches, and also stays dirt when it's not touching a zone at all. PEGs roads are great, but they only work when they're touching agricultural zones.

HELP ME i need unlimited money badly weakness pays is not good enough when you lose 30 grand+ a month i would also like to see star wars skins for aircraft and before you ask i have no idea about making these things thanks and good luck

If you are losing 30 grand a month something is wrong, try tuning your budget there's probably a guide somewhere here, also remove any unneccessary things like water towers and pipes if you have low density zones. If you want to get money however download the ExtraCheats Plugin I think the thread is stickied on this forum, the link to download is on page 8 or 9 I think, the cheat you will want is "Moolah" without the quotes, example if you want a total of 1 million type Moolah 1000000.

I agree with warrior that you should analyse your gameplay. Part of the fun of the game is to figure out the simulation dynamics. But if you would like to have a good money cheat I suggest you use the BSC Ultimate Budget Tool. I have used it a few times myself and it is a great way to "balance" your budget.

I haven't really seen anything on the subject anywhere else so I'll mention it here.

I think it would be good if it ws possible to make a highway, but after dragging it a dialog box would appear asking the user how many lanes the highway should have in each direction, if it should have hard shoulders, if it should have HOV lanes ect.

I also think that a mod for right hand (left hand in the USA and mainland Europe) exits, as there are quite a few of these in real life.

EDIT: It would also be good to be able to designate bus lanes ect on other routes.

SmartRoss: That isn't possible to my knowledge, the only way to that would be to have seperate starter puzzle pieces ( like the draggable GLR) for each highway , so one for 8 lane highway, one for highway with HOV lanes ( which would also have to have a TEed lot.) etc.

Hi! I have two mod requests:

1st - lower to 1 or 2 wind power plant maintenance, rising to twice their building cost. I have them quite close to my house and I can tell you that they are very very easy to keep, they don't need much work (often noone at all) but they have a very heavy impact on the environment, since they are ugly to see and, especially, they TAKE A LOT OF SPACE. This could be nice even for SimCity: allowing players to use them but forcing players to choose carefully where to place them. Big cities would still be in need of huge plants, since their energy request would need a huge quantity of wind towers that simply there wouldn't be enough space to build all of them.

2nd - a change to controll tools, that allow me to micromanage each single sanitation facility (burner, recyclers, landfill and trash collection for each of those facilities, like ambulances & so on) and for every big transportation facility, like docks, big commercial harbors, ferryboats, each airport & so on... this would severely reduce wastes. Even more, each transportation utility should even give moneys: more they are used by sims, more moneys the city should earn, maybe even exceeding the expenses, if the transportation system is excellent! Not to complain, but I've never seen an airport that allows tourists to fly for free! 2.gif

I have a mod request thzt is important to me, I am color blind, and I dont like any of the transportation map modds out there. I would like A map with thew following colors/shades.

Highway - Purple

Avenue - Light Blue

One way Road - Red

Road/street - darkish orange/white

Train track - yellow

Other -black/grey

This may seem like a huge favour and it is, But you would make me very happy If you could respond to me at texasbro@hotmail.com. ANy suggetions welcome. I will be waiting for a response or checking stex for new transportatiojn mods. TY 4.gif

Could anyone make a rail mod, like the rail cars and locomotives we have here for passenger, is it possible to make a either 1 of 3 things (or all).

1. change the models for a diesel frieght engine, such as the BNSF DASH-9 already on the STEX in to a Steamer Such as the UP's Big Boy or like a two/three truck Shay.

2. change the models for a diesel passenger engine, such as the Amtrak AMD-103 or the Penn. GG1 already on the STEX in to a Steamer Such as the the Mallard or the Flying Scotsman

3. at least make new freight cars to repalce the maxis cars such as changing that horrible flatcar with the tank on it to some kinda intermodal or even some kind of grain train type thing.

Here is my request....

I know there are allready Road Top Mass Transit that exist... however, they seem to all have the issue of not being able to place residential in front of them, for lack of road access... 

Maybe a road top set that would include a lot attached that would occupy the space in front of the stop and still have residents, workers, etc, and still have road access... 

Hope that makes sense
