That's a building request, not a mod. And don't click reply so many times...3.gif

I think it would be great if someone made a landfill mod that:

1-Changes the look from being a pile of trash to being a more realistic grassy hill.

2-Makes the effect on desirability less, because it seems like the red circle of low desirability is too huge.

3-Lowers the price, because I'm pretty sure landfills don't cost more than schools or hospitals in real life (Correct me if I'm wrong).

Tell me if this (or something like it) already exists!

This is my frist post. I had stop playing sim4 for awhile. I just found all these sights with all this cool stuff about a month or 2 ago. So I have been messing with the new Nam (well new to me). I have placed a few double decker (el-rail and road), and notice that when I wanted a station I had to lay some rail that was not over the road. I was wondering if it was possible to have a station that could be placed over the road. I think it would be helpfull if it could go over ave also. Also wondering if a bridge could be made that has a lower level for rail. It would be more realstic (well that may not be right I dont know of any in real life). I do know of some in the planning stages, but it would be way more helpful really on the smaller lands.

I've got an idea I bet many would love to see applied too.
Since it's impossible to make larger city maps, this can go around it: a mod that, when you are driving a UDI vehicle and get to the border of the map, prompts you "Go on to bordering map?" and, if you click "yes", automatically closes the current map and opens the neighboring one, with the vehicle starting from the proper edge of the road, so you can continue your journey.
Wouldn't that be fantastic? Of course I'm talking about free UDI, not missions.
Any way to make it?
Oh, and in any case a bunch of thanks to all you modding gods, thanks to your creations I'm enjoying the game ten times more!

A mod like that is already in development; I should know, I am the main developer.

Check here for more information on it: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=5855.0

It is possible but there needs to be an original ordinance for it to copy.

All the landfills I've ever seen have been piles of trash covered with, I guess, a layer of dirt and then some grass to make it look nicer and cover up any bad smell. I know of neighborhoods very close to landfills, and I think I've heard of neighborhoods being built ON old covered landfills (but I might be remembering wrong). I just really don't like the waste management system in this game. What does your "LAM" do other than slightly change the look and make it ploppable, un1?

Oh i have a cool modd idea.

You know how when you want to load a city, you'd need to go to the region view first, then load. What would be great would be going to your neighbour city straight from the current city your at. Loading time would probably be just as the same as going to the region view, but it would save clicking time, especially when you need to adjust things like power levels and garbage capacity between adjacent cities. You dont want keep saving and closing. Just click once.

And what would be cooler would be thru-UDI across cities. Imagine actually being able to drive from one city to another. Wow.

Then again, too complex to mod i guess. And the benefits probably doesnt justify the effort put in.

Oh well.

The LAM will...

-Allow plopable landfills.

-Redo the old landfill, make it cheaper, nicer. etc

-New waste management lots, incinerators, recycling centers.

That is all I can think of for now...

I agree, between-cities UDI does sound awsome, is a feature I'd do anything to get! I bet the only possibility would be a mod that closes the city you're driving in and loads the neighbour already in UDI mode, placing your vehicle at the proper point you entered.

Of course one can close and open manually but it's an altogether different thing, especially because you'll be assigned a vehicle starting at a random point of the map, so making continuous trips is impossible. If anything else I'd just love to know if some mod of this kind is possible or not.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah thru-UDI would be just awesome! Like going to a different level once you've completed the previous level in an RPG. So you drive to the border part of the road/rail and then it automatically starts loading for you your neighbour city. Once its done loading, voila! You'll be on the other side of the road. And continue driving UDI from there.

But like you said, It'd probably load from any random point on the neighbour city map.. This kind of upgrade more lkely merits to be in a new version of SC. But sigh. With SC Societies and how 'good' it is, we'll probably not see anymore new SCs..

BTW everyone should visit the 3RR three rivers region on SC4D! Theyve created many new interesting modds there 4.gif

I am sorry, but that UDI add on is not possible, due to the mod creators not having the advanced modding tool like EA has, and it is not possible to over write hard coded files in the game without EA's advanced editing tools.

is there a mod that enables a viewmode where all RCI buildings are hidden and only the zoning of it is visible...

something like the standard zones view, but then with everything else visible except the RCI buildings...(in zones view you only see roads and zoning)

Um, something tells me what I'm going to ask you cannot be done... but I'll try anyway! Well, don't you think there are a bit too many wheel chair users among random walkers? I mean, that's fine to have some, but my sidewalks often resemble hospitals rather than streets... help!

I don't know if these have been requested yet but...

1. Could I have a mod where ONLY High Wealth offices, services, and residencies are buolt. I want to have an entire high wealth city, is it possible?

2. Could I have a mod where people build skyscrapers from the start?

Thanks!

Mod Request Responses;

bobaphatt - Not that I know of...

verticallimitt18 - It is called a subway.

labbu63 - Working on it. 2.gif

littlewhitebutterfly - It would work, but I have no clue on how to do it.

Cullen95 - There is one, but it doesn't work. So I don't think it is possible.

ja/att - Great idea! I will start working on it.

I have a bit of an idea. I noticed with the super demand ordinance that you world control only general zone types with the modification. I'm wondering... Would it be possible to create a mod that could control the 2 sub genres of commercial zoning (COffice, CService), as well as the different wealth classes and industrial classes (Dirty, Manufacturing, High Tech, Farming)?
