  1. HSRP - The End for now

To drag the HSR, plop the starter piece and then use the Monorail tool to drag. To drag GLR, do the same but use the El-Rail tool to drag. Btw, congratulations on your success, warrior!
  2. Frustrated about Roundabouts and GLRs

Wow, that goes to show you how long it's been since I installed the NAM updates... Sorry about the mix up.
  3. Frustrated about Roundabouts and GLRs

Never install more than one version of the NAM at one time. Renove both versions, then install only the most recent version.

  5. CPT Terrain Mod - Trees

I remember the reason for the messed up shoreline being due to Cycledogg's accidental deletion of a few reps of a property. I really don't want to go hunting for it though...

Jeesh, this community is getting more unintelligent by the second.quote>Thanks for offending everyone here. I don't know how Somy designed his Japanese houses, but if as another user pointed out, he made them growable and ploppable, the ploppable versions may work. But a purely ploppable res building DOES NOT work. Try to make a residential plop that doesn't exist as a growable and see. It won't work properly.
  7. The problem with ploppable residential is the fact that Sims are unable to "get out" of the buildings to travel to work. This is why they abandon. Plopping them over existing residential seems to work since the travel paths are already established. But even this is tricky sometimes, and if the building ever dilapidates or abandons, it'll never get demolished or re-inhabited.
  8. HD Moveable?

Ahem. I present to you, the ability to switch plugin folders without having to move the My Documents folder. Ta Da! https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=3683.0
  9. Help with GLR

GLR stations can be downloaded. If you download a station that's older than the NAM release date, you'll need to install the patch for it that came with the NAM. The older GLR stations aren't updated to the new draggable GLR. The crash is a documented bug in the game and happens with any transit-enabled piece like a station or toll-booth on any traffic network. You'll just have to be careful not to hover a station over the tracks. Lay the tracks, leaving a hole, and then lay the station.
  10. NAM: Requests

There exists a GLR On-Slope piece that transitions GLR to EL-Rail in very few tiles. I use that to create highway overpasses, and even bridges. You just have to be creative with the pieces to create the bridges as the On-Slope pieces cannot be placed on level terrain.
  11. Get your Maxis files here!

The updates reset the graphics settings. Some of these need to be on high in order for props and such to appear correctly.
  12. Unable to import greyscale terrain jpg's

Not having a height mod installed would probably be the reason. The map was more than likely made with a height mod, so read the instructions that came with the map to see if you can locate it.

Please, do include your computer specs.
  14. Trouble Reinstalling

    Try redownloading and reinstalling DirectX.
  15. It's possible, but you'll need to do two separate installs to the same folder, one from each OS. This will create the necessary registry settings in both OSes. The game will look for plugins in a folder determined by the OS you use while running the game. Plugins are always kept in My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins. The location of the My Documents folder is different in the two OSes. There is a command-line argument you can add to the SC4 shortcut to specify a custom user directory. Add -UserDir:path to the end of the Target box in the Shortcut Properties. Replace path with a folder where SC4 will create the necessary files. Remember to put a forward slash ("/") at the end of the path, and put the path in quotes (" "). This should, in theory, work.
