Fantozii : thanks for the reply, but im thinking of something thats 0% transparent if thats possible. Im thinking a tropical river look.

You can open up your water mod's .dat file in iLive's reader and change the transparency that way. I'm not exactly sure how to do this, but if you fiddle around with it enough, I'm pretty sure you can figure it out.

@ Sleeping Politician: It'd be nice to have more of what you're requesting but for now you can resize stuff in model tweaker to make is "HD". @ Fantonzii: I did a tutorial a while back that included how to change transparency (again hope off-site link isn't problematic) https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=13185.msg380688#msg380688 You'll need to edit your terrain mod controller, not the water mod. Using the water mod I'm using there (by dogfight or similar name) works well for that effect and I suspect Xannepan's Poseidon mod would also work well. Removing transparency tends to cause jagged-looking diagonal shorelines though.

 

@ Huston: With your photoshopping skills it should be pretty easy to make a terrain mod like that--you could just take an existing terrain mod and replace the textures with lunar ones.

You could easily do it yourself with the LOT Editor tool. :)

I have 1000+ lots to edit and many people have more to edit so why not just a mod to override?

I want some mmp animals (like the car mmps) to fit with a savanna theme

 

eg: rhino elephant lion gazelle hippo crocodile otrich leopard cheetah flamingo baffalo

 

They're not MMPs but you might want to check out JENX' fauna brushes. In particular the crocodiles, flamingos, scarlet macaws, rhinos, elephants, giraffes, chimps, kangaroos, lions, tigers and zebras.

Put simply, it wouldn't work, this is because the massive variation in size between the SHK cars and the Maxis ones means such an override would in all likelihood just look a gigantic mess. Actually creating a texture override would take all of 10 minutes but unless you want Maxis cars there that won't help you.

 

All of the overrides I've seen for Maxis cars have tried to use similar sized props, such mods from Mikeseith and Jim work pretty well and at least get rid of the Maxis ugliness. If you wanted SHK parking to look right you'd have to mod every single lot individually, there is just no way around this.

Hello !!

 

I've been searching for a mod that would pause the game when an advisor pops up.

 

When you run at max speed and an advisor has something urgent to say (let's say not enough power) the game restarts at full speed without you having enough time to pause and the same advisor comes again for the same reason. It would be much nicer if when you close the advisor window the game was paused so you can solve the problem immediately.

 

If such a mod doesn't exist, could someone create one ??

Has anyone thought of having a go at the Auckland Harbour Bridge? It is an awesome bridge. Would really love it.

Also the Grafton Bridge. I walked over that every day, twice a day for 3 years. Awesome views.

Speaking as a NAM developer, we don't really make default Maxis Highway content anymore, especially full-on interchanges on that sort.  There's more info on the NAM's "regular requests that will not be taken" thread (), where they fall under the heading "hard to realize items".  There's a reason only five custom MHW interchanges have been made in the 11 years the NAM has been around.  They are extremely difficult and time-consuming to make, with single interchanges usually taking anywhere from 6 to 18 months to make, and they don't add all that much to the game in terms of new functionality.

Couplea mods: (Please refrain from dependencies, .Exes, or Dlls.

An added cheat that gives you 100,000 simoleons whnever you input it (IE Moolah)

More power plants.

More hospitals

A mod that disables the advisor popup "Undercover cop unearths den of crime" (remove it from the game, pls)

A mod that quiets down strikers massively, and they can only be heard from the lowest zoom.

That's all I can think of now.

Would it be possible to make a sort of "eraser" mod for mmps, allowing for spot-removal of plopped mmps on a small scale, as opposed to using the bulldozer? Just a thought that occurred to me while mmp'ing.

Not really sure that's something you can control within the game engine, either way it sounds like a lot of work. What you could do is simply edit the MMPs so that each one includes a blank "null" prop in them. I make all of mine this way, so there is at least a way to remove it with an extra click if one part of something I really don't want to redo goes wrong.

Thank you for your reply rsc204. The problem with that approach is that it seems to me the null object is still taking up space even if not visible.. such as that I can no longer place something else in the exact same spot... but yeah, I think it is still worth it! thanks.

Indeed you are right, I spent a lot of time trying to get this as minimal as possible, go download one of these MMPs from BadSim, it may not be any use to you as an MMP, but the flora perimeters that determine the space used do not actually come from the "Occupant Size" when creating MMPs, they come from the property "kSC4FloraParametersProperty" so if you use this MMP as a template for ones you make, you'll find it minimises the problem to some extent as I've not seen another MMP that allows plopping so close to the "null" spot. That said these are not seasonal, so modding the two together as a hybrid is something I've yet to get round too, but then for the most part so far I've not MMP'd trees since there is a pretty good selection already out there.

Well, I know other people have asked many times for a  "Tropical Tree Controller" or a "Tropical Flora God Mode" for those like me who are making tropical cities in Simcity 4, and now i think is time for a new Tropical Tree Controller with more variety of flora (trees, grass, bushes, flowers, bambus), almost all the "Tree Controllers" in the community are like:

- forest seasonal

 Italia, Pacific Northwest, Cascadia tree controllers...

- heblem desertic and tropical forest tree controllers...

(i like Hemblem's tree controllers, but some times when i plop his tree controllers in the "God Mode" i have CTD and i don't know why)

My request is for a Tropical Tree Controller. I have seen that there are new sets of trees in HD that they are not used for this kind of stuff, and this trees are perfect for an Tropical Tree Controller seasonal and non seasonal (or tropical and sub tropical evergreen flora or seasonal flora) ,

such as trees and plants that come with  HD flora packages like:

-girafes and orange (not the pines, the normal trees and bushes)

-grass and bushes from orange's rural pack,

-cp's tropical flora

-cp's bushes and grass

-bambu by Fanta soda (simcity.cn)

-Moonlight's Bamboo

-nbvc's tropical plants

To do something more or less like the pictures, would be amazing.

A tree controller is a lot of very painstaking work to create, it requires a certain amount of enthusiasm to seriously consider, therefore unless someone with the necessary skills decides to make one, you could be in for a long wait.

 

I'm not so familiar with some of those flora items as I don't go in for making tropical landscapes. If any of these don't currently have an MMP available I would be happy to convert it for you, I can knock these things up in 10 minutes so it's no big deal if that would be helpful to you.

Actually i have a tree controller (Simfox's tree controller) from this CJ:

Flora Work in Al Aauim 

 

But, the thing here is that i need to know how to remove the palm props of the mod and put other props(like this ones), at least only one or two trees that i put in my request (cp props vol 2) . I know that is so much work, but i dont have the time and experience to make it (maybe i can make the time in my busy life  :P ), at least some one can make one with only 3 type of trees. Or maybe a tutorial about it would help me, of course.  :)
