That is awesome! So many names! :O I wouldn't be able to come up with 100, let alone 1000. :P

I'll be back one day.

Another WIP from me.  Still deciding what info to put on this strip map of the system.  This type of map would be displayed on trains over doorways, on ticket machines and fare cards for calculating fare (similar to Bangkok's BTS Sytrain fare system),  and on the back of pamphlets.  A slightly more geographic map would be displayed at stations and available for pick up for those unfamiliar with the locations of stations.

I'd like this map to show connections to the Suburban S-rail system which is a major part of the transport scheme, but as you can see, it is already quite cramped.

Also: Note the cardinal direction markings at the end of each line denoting which direction from Central Olympia the line has gone to help with locating oneself.

I'm sure there's a reason highways don't get mapped like this very often... :/

Still working on some names for stations, but most of my Suburban Rail Network is complete, so I decided to make a service chart.

The S-lines form the backbone of commuter rail in the Olympia Region, but also shown on this map are the services of Olympia Metro in the Northwest Quadrant since there are no traditional rail services there.  The Metro there must substitute for S-line.  Also shown are connections to Olympia Metro throughout the region as well as National Rail and Southern Cross Rail Connections.  There is also a Connection to the High Speed Rail Service called ICE (Inter-City Express).

Bluemoose - I love the map. :) I think the stations could be placed more equally from one another, but it's a minor concern. :)

Also, Cities in Motion / TES- master rail map. It's not finished, but it's pretty good so far. Balmora, Anvil, Bravil, Leyawiin, and soon Chorrol are playable Cities in Motion cities, too. (Bravil's still the top CiM2 map according to the ratings..)

Been looking around this thread for a while but never posted an actual map D:

I've made quite a few rail/metro maps but I'll post one for now.. This is for the RTS (Rapid Transit System) in Nam Chan.

Thanks Benedict and yoshi! The watermark was inspired by Singapore's MRT System Map

Nice map, are the places in thai?

Thanks, most of the names are in Cantonese and there's some French and English names too.

I just finished making a recreation of what the Melbourne Metro System could look like by 2030

Took me just less than a day :D

Here's the current map to compare: http://ptv.vic.gov.au/assets/PDFs/Maps/Network-maps/Train-Network-Map-updated-November-2012.pdf

Cantonese looks a lot similar with thai, both are tonal, both are from the same roots, and the only thing that is significantly different is the script they use.

My latest CiM project (well not only mine, there are four other people working on it, though I was responsible for Downtown, Whitefield and Redguard after the Redguard guy messed up) - a coloured road map for the CiM2 Singaporese styled city of Altea and its surroundings.

This map is actually based on a black and white version, which I made first to draw the eventual transit network over it. The original - which I'll post when I'm done actually playing this map - is heavily based on Oakland, CA's own map.

Quite accurate Second Life network map for this month. I worked a bit on the curves here :)

That looks really nice. Looks like a real tube map.

Did you make everything by hand or did you use some program/website for this?

This is what I have so far.  Just took the SC4M_view.jpg of the region I'm about to start, opened it with GIMP, did a tiny bit of magic, colored the water blue, the land tan, and added the name of the nation I'm going to play a CJ for to the map.

In the fuure I'll build upon this base.  This is essentially just how this country would show up on a world political map that just shows countries.  I haven't decided whether any of the smaller islands will be their own sovereign states or part of the main Kingdom yet.

Anyway, as I play and develop the region and play out the CJ, I'll add dots of varying sizes to the map to mark locations of cities/towns/villages, as well as a star for the capitol city.  I'll probably also come up with provincial borders to add to the map, as well as provincial capitols.  And I may make another version of the map showing the highway/rail systems across the nation.
