Here's an all bus system : this time representing my upcoming city of (New) Kvatch for Cities in Motion 2. (The 21-line network is indeed functional)

The city itself is a blur of Leicester with other stuff as said in the page before; the bus network itself isn't however and seeks to provide rather efficient transit. The design comes from the Spokane transit map, albeit adapted; it may look more like Oklahoma City's.

A shortcoming might be the fact this doesn't show frequency; however all lines have headways under 30 minutes. On the back of the map there would be tons of information, a map of the five main lines (1, 2, 3, 6, 10) with station names, and a sunday service map. This map being schematic, it would be shown alongside local, geographical maps, too.

This map ties in with many others, including my Cyrodiil maps and the road map for Kvatch (pages 33 to 35 I think)

kvatch_bus_2.png

Lines 5 and 37, and 11 and 16 were a single line but since everyone stepped down at Burley Sq, they were separated to make them more independent and the timing a bit more reliable.

Been awhile since I've been active, but here's a strip map of one of the Metro lines of my pacific rim region: Olympia. Issued by the regional rail transit agency, BAHN, which operates the S-bahn, Southern Cross, as well as Metro.  It shows connections to all other rail networks, with special attention to other Metro Services:

Let me know what you think, and how it could be improved! (aside from a legend/key; I just realized I missed this)

Wow, that much be a much bigger city than Oly in real life. Transit advocates there are still fighting to have their city included in the expansion plans for the Sounder commuter railway and for express buses outside of traditional commute hours, much less an actual grade separated metro system. And likely the only reason it has a chance of getting those things is because it's the state capital.

Very nice! I like that it gives an impression of the geographical layout of the region by showing the different urban areas.

Ages ago I posted a map of the rail system in my Danmyrska region ( Well I've redrawn and updated it and thought I'd share it.

I think it's an improvement and it actually reflects the region's layout better.

Finished by new S-Bahn map for my newly renamed region of Aurora (I was reminded olympia was a real place in the Pac NW, so I changed names :P).  You might notice that the map has some slightly Germanic names on it, because the Aurora region is almost fully bilingual with English and a unique dialect of German.  As such, the transit scheme took a lot of cues from Germany's, with the Metro transit relying on both a U-bahn type Metro system, and a full S-bahn system.  The S-bahn system and map is designed to be a more elegant form of commuting compared to Metro, as several lines service the same areas as Metro.  Most lines receive about 6 trains per hour, with exceptions.  The Airtrain for example has several special service operations in order to provide rapid service to and from the airport.  Other services that are feeders are also represented on the map, as well as the Northwest Access portion of the Metro, since there is no room to build an S-bahn system there.

Well, here it is, let me know what you think!

I must admit, it was a bit of an afterthought. I did not want to add them at first but then I felt a crucial element of the map would be missing.

I like your map a lot, Bluemoose.

Paris-style line maps, the kind of which you'd find in trains themselves. Those represent lines A and B of the Metrorail network I posted a page or two ago.  (Imperial City, Cyrodiil)

And some bonus materials, random displays you'd find in a train station on the network (Fort Caractatus, in this case)

This is probably the first time in a while I have posted here; as part of redoing the whole region, I made a map of the regional rail network of Rivelta; in my opinion it's a combination of BART and MBTA's Commuter rail system. Note that obviously the map is not to scale; the distance between Downtown Cadwall and Downtown Bradenson is about from Boston to Providence(In this region, the reason for the gap is because of mountains in the way)

Well, after considerable tinkering I have revamped the entire layout of my City Journal street map. Included now along with the original Political view are Terrain and Zoning views.  Honestly, it seems like a lot of content but it wasn't very difficult at all to implement.  At this point I could very easily add additional views but I'm not sure there are any more that would be of any real value.

Some samples:

Political:

Terrain:

Zoning:

Zooms are a little wonky, but I'm not sure what I can really do to fix them.  I might explore a little CSS and see if that helps.

All of these maps look awesome.  I love how everyone has their own style.  Here's the combined transit map for my region (posted a page ago).

I've seen variations of this style of mapping by the same person and they look great but I'm not sold on the Melbourne one.. I think it shows too much information which makes it feel more cluttered. I believe the through-city lines should also have a consistent colour instead of transitioning into a different colour as it gets pretty confusing in the City Loop. A minor thing to note is also that Doncaster Line would run through Clifton Hill Loop whilst Sth Morang Line would run to FishBend through the Fitzroy tunnel.

Apart from what I've stated it has been executed very well.

I like how the City Loop Circle is like a vortex, dragging everything into it.

Keep the Sydney names to yourself ;)

@Bluemoose, Nice map! Very detailed and cool station names. I see you're from Pennsylvania. I was wondering when I saw stations with names like Gulph Rd., Yarborough, and Chester.

Yesterday I designed a new sign for the NATA Light Rail. In Dutch we are used to this kind of signs, being called a vertrekstaat, and it is best translated as a timetable that shows at what times a certain line or service departs from a certain station.

Not my work but I found this the other day of my hometown, custom made map of the Melbourne Metro.

What do you all think? I love this design and plan on implementing it in my own map.

This is map is awesome.  In fact, it has inspired me to make a spin-off of my previous regional rail map.  Thank you for the inspiration.

Once again, my S-bahn Map of Altona (I finally settled on the name of my region, after going from Aurora to Olympia, back to Aurora, then i tried Hansa, and i liked Altona a bit more than all of them.)

This one I tried to make more fluid and elegant, and included some new extensions, as well as the completely new 100 class of service from the NW quadrant through the center and to the industrial and housing tower blocks to the south.  Also featured are the Inter-City Extension services that continuer outside of the City-State and into other regions.

Not shown are the Legend and Service notes because I'm not sure how I want to implement them yet.  Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
