I searched the forum, but couldn't find another topic like this one, so I decided to make it myself. Whether you still play SC4 or gave it up, if you're a member of this site, you probably have played it at some point. Most likely, your first city wasn't your best, but it can be fun to look back and see what you built your first time. In this thread, you can show the community your first city/cities and see what others' look like too. 

 

This is my first city, with a very creative title that took much thought, Cityville:

 

 

Then I made another creatively-named city, Qwertyville:

 

 

After that, I needed a mostly industrial city, so I made SmogBurg:

This is a good way to sort of give credit (maybe not directly) to all the modders & batters out there that have completely changed what this game originally was when released. It will allow everyone to remember what they had, and what they have now, and give more appreciation to those who've contributed to the evolution of SC4

 

What's funny, is every time I see old pics with the standard squared blocks, it feels like I'm looking at SC3000. Not a single curve (smooth) or angled road in sight. It just doesn't look right at all. SC4 has gone from apples to oranges. 

 

I don't have any cities saved from when I originally purchased Deluxe, but I do have the first city built upon my recent return to SC4, just before going crazy with dl'ed content. I'll have to drop in Timbukto and take some pics of my squared of blocks (prior to NAM).

I think I have deleted every city that could count as a 'first city' However I have plenty of completely unmodded cities from the past. would anyone get upset if I put some of those on here?

Well, for its time it's probably not sooo bad ;-)  Must be from 2004 or so... I remember though - after that I was kinda disenchanted with SC(4) and didn't touch it again for two or three years... then, during some surf-tour, I stumbled upon Simtropolis and Simpeg.com... the rest is history LOL

@paeng, ROFLyoshi, and Ion_Cannon: The improvement you guys have made from your earlier cities to the ones you make now is amazing. It's cool to see that we all come from humble beginnings.

Ok, I'll bite. My very first city is probably sitting somewhere in a junk yard or land fill on a very old hard drive.

This is as far back as I can find. It is basically vanilla with a very early NAM release and ArtGolf's golf course lots (I was very hesitant to use any MODs back in the day). Aaaah... the days of hand terraforming and tile upon tile of monotonous Maxis.

Trust me - my 2003/2004 cities were abominations... I'm really impressed by how nice some of these first cities look.

@SimCoug: Still looking really good for a beginner, with a quite dense highway network, suburbs developed where they are meant to...

I would show my very own creations, but I changed my computer about one year and a half and lost everything I didn't saved first; including my horribly planned, bumpy-roaded, bankrupt and WeaknessPays-dependant cities. Lord, I didn't even know the Extra Cheats and I couldn't use the Moolah one...

Not my first city, but definitely one of them...I think this was in 2009? I picked up Simcity 4 Deluxe at Best Buy when I was like 10 years old. I guess I had no idea I would still be in to it four years later...

 

 

My city building style hasn't changed much, but the mods and BATs completely changed my pictures

I can't show my very first city, because the laptop where I had SC4 installed crashed.   It was a city with 70.000 inhabitants.

I'm very new to the game, and I don't think I still have my first cities anywhere. However, I have a few shots from when I first found out how the image function in the game worked, which coincided with the day I joined Simtropolis . Also, I had just found the NAM and the nice smooth rail curves, and also the first tree mod, which made me excited enough to take some shots.
