[NYBT 86]

The NYBT Civil BAT Unit is the place where some of NYBT dedicated members are willing make more civil building for Sim City 4. We have always felt the we need more Fire Stations, Police Stations, Schools, and ect to Sim City 4.

 

This is another battalion part of the NYBT Division. The list of members are below.

Here's first half of the NYBT Fire Station pack, there will be six fire stations. Each batter, that's Anton, Vlasky and I will make 2 fire stations. Three of the fire stations will be large, and the other three will be small.

Jeez, I almost had tears in my eyes when I looked at these screenshots! The last PD/FD buildings I looked at were the ones in SC2013 - cartoonish boxes in garish colours, catering for the good old "police buildings are all blue, fire departments are all shiny red" kind of "logic". Yuck!

 

Now I see wonderful buildings, and I remember how it annoyed me whenever I had to place a modern PD with helipad in my Chicago/NY-themed cities.

 

Actually, the Maxis fire stations aren't that bad, but they sure look more rural than urban, so the new FDs will be a more than welcome replacement.

 

To save some amount of work, I'm wondering whether some existing buildings could be modified a bit in order to serve a new role... another asset we are lacking so far is a large, high-capacity urban hospital for the NY 1940 tileset. Mattb235 has made some wonderful clinics that can be used for Chicago1890, and SimGoober's and APTX's stuff (among others) are great for Houston/Euro, but for NY...?

Here's an update on the fire stations I have made for the NYBT Civil BAT Unit, Fire Station Pack 1. Anton have being missing and we can not contact him so we will have to keep moving, there is not sense of not finishing and uploading pack of small buildings like these. Vlasky will post his update soon.

The large station will have one of the garage doors open so you can see the fire trucks. At night Vlasky and I have decide that the selected doors will be open in dya and closed at night.  Still more work to do on the larger station so we will post another update.

This is the 2nd (out of 3 planned) part of NYBT CBU effort to bring FDNY into SC4. As Aaron has said before, Anton, our dear friend has been MIA for quite some time now and we have decided to purse finishing and releasing these station in his absence. When he returns, hopefully he will release his part. In the mean time, we want to remind you that he was an integral part of CBU and these FDNY projects.

This firehouse is located at 253 Lafayette Street in SoHo, Manhattan. It is headquarters of Division 1 which serves southern Manhattan. It is home to Ladder 20, Engine 13, Rescue 6, FDNY EMS Mobile Medical Unit 4. In addition to these it is currently host to reserve Ladder 705 and Engine 503. 

 

This is going to translate in game as 4 units available with this station.

This firehouse is located at 440 West 38th Street in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. It is home to Engine 34 and Tower Ladder 21. 

 

This will translate into the game as 2 truck available.

 

As you can see, Aaron has extracted models of firetrucks from Gwails FDNY automata and we have used them. In addition to these he has extracted Simfanatik's Ford Pickup truck and I have made a re-skin for it per FDNY color scheme. I will make it availbe here if anyone ever wants to use it. Thank you Gwail and Simfanatik.
