Two things:

1) This july makes six years for you, not five.

2) Lurking ≠ active, though lurking around a site for six years is still impressive.

Meh, for you it doesn't matter anyway. You're in the 5000 post club, which has only 36 members. So you've got the exclusive club thing down.

You're right, Duke87. I must be playing this game too long and hard!   Downloading, and reading the forums and jounals is activity.  (How could I not use your bright insights and ideas.)  I remember when you started.

I haven't been as active in the last month as I had been in previous months, but it has been a year since I joined. 2.09 posts/day. Thanks for a fun first year, all!

Nah, I only go with nice round numbers. 1000 post club used to be something special, but now it's nothing. Then it was 3000 that was special. Now, you have 5000 as special and 10,000 as very special. 25,000 would be next, but there's only one person there and I don't see there being another one for a long time, so it's not much of a club!

If you're realy curious, though...

Simtropolis members with more than:

4000 posts - 46

5000 posts - 36

6000 posts - 20

7000 posts - 12

8000 posts - 8

9000 posts - 8

10000 posts - 8

11000 posts - 5

12000 posts - 5

13000 posts - 3

14000 posts - 2, maybe 3 (depending on where exactly sloppet stopped, we don't know)

15000 posts - 2

16000 posts - 2

17000 posts - 1

35000 posts - 1

36000 posts - 0

Huge gap there at the top. That's our resident chatterbox, Jackie.

The same could be said of custom labels, or awards (Trixie and otherwise).

Though, you could also just say you need more of them to be cool. 3.gif

...and I was getting ready to celebrate my 1000th post. Too bad I couldn't bring my 12,340 posts on Sporeum (Dirk's other site) back with me.

Im up to six years now as of 5 days ago. I cant believe it has been that long already/

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

Hm... I suppose I have to post here to be included in the list? I've been around for almost 6 years now! I remember when ST was counting its members by the 100s lol.

So technically I've been on here for four years. Although I assume that for 3 1/2 of them I wasn't really all that active.

And with that you brought it to my attention that I've been registered here for 61 months (5 years and 1 month for those of us too lazy to do the math).

And I have hit 1 year today. Not quite as impressive as 6, but a cause of joy for myself nevertheless.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

-Steen Eiler Rasmussen, 1898-1990 (SimCity 2000 User Manual).
