Well its been 2 years since my last post. I'm back again! I've been a member of Simtropolis for almost 18.5 years now. Crazy to think if I had a child when I joined Simtropolis it would be graduating High School now!

@HayleyRenaNemeth I remember when the site had the green sign with the number of members! Those were the good times! I am up to 16 years now. I joined in May 2003. Time goes fast that is for sure.

I have been in IT for 11 years. Do not buy an antivirus solution. Windows Defender works well.

Difference Between Deluxe and Regular Version
huskerman007 posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I am looking at buying the steam sale today but I am unsure what the difference between the regular version and the deluxe edition is. Could someone please explain? Also has anyone had any luck running this on a 2012 macbook 15 inch laptop. My laptop has a geforce gt 650m 4gb, an i7 3720qm @ 2.6 ghz (8 cpus), and 8 gigs of ram. -
It's time to ask the big question.

It was dead the first day it came out. I played about a month and haven't played it since. I was very dissapointed how EA handled the game at the start. -
Correct Schriefer will not post next.

I missed my 10 year mark in May last year. Time really sure does fly by.

Offline Mode Coming Soon
huskerman007 replied to hellmunkey's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
The thing I am most excited about for offline mode is having the ability to mod the game so I can have larger cities. Right now my biggest issue with the online mode is the city sizes are too small. -
The State of Simcity - EA/Maxis speaks

I will be very happy if they release this in offline mode. When my internet goes down I shouldn't have to worry about playing Simcity. It's not a multiplayer game. To me Simcity will always be meant to have one person play the entire region. I am extremely dissapointed that bigger maps probably won't come. I have maxed out a lot of my cities and wish I could do a lot more with them. -
I did actually vote wrong. Thanks for pointing that out!

We waited 10 years for this?

There was no mods for SC4 either when it came out - over time people worked out ways to do it.... and people are trying to find out if its possible in the new game too ... it needs time. Simcity 4 wasn't required to be connected to Ea's server to run. The only way modding is going to be possible is if Ea puts out a patch to allow it, they allow you to play without being connected to their servers, or someone figures out how to hack the game so you can play it offline. I don't see any of the options available any time soon. -

The final thing that annoys me is very little customization is allowed. Which basically renders the Simtropolis File Exchange useless for the new game. Great now they can make a ton of money off of DLC! Customization was the one thing that made me like pc over game consoles. -

The other thing I don't like about this is when EA decides to shut down the servers you can no longer play the game. They could do this to force you to buy a newer Simcity they will release in the future even if you like the older version better. -

I have been sitting on the loading screen for the last hour on a 30 meg connection. I wonder if ordering the box version would have made a difference or not. It's kind of ridiculous to not be prepared for online play when your forcing it. Mabye they should give up origin and move everything to steam.
