Yeah, I’d recommend everyone to use "Custom Installation" if they’re installing NAM 31 on top of an old NAM.

EDIT: What’s with the underlining over the word "NAM"?

I've not installed a new version of... well, very much of anything in the past half-decade (and I'm holding out for 31.1).  Hopefully, I won't have too many issues with old files still hanging around, standing on street corners and causing trouble with their illicit code and loud bluescreens.

As far as the NAM goes, special care has been taken over the years to provide backwards compatibility. So basically any previous NAM item should still be supported by the current version.

Cheers

Willy

The installer is so large that the least error will cause problems.  At one point I managed to delete avenue roundabouts which I use heavily.  Took me a couple of days to straighten out what had happened.

I was thinking this might be a special case.  The poster said he had not updated anything in five years.  I don't think RTMT was around five years ago.  Is the installer smart enough to get stuff that old?

"She", actually, but yes, you summed up my concern.

That's because they are not selected in the standard complete installation, because these things depend upon player's preferences.

No, the HSR stations are part of the standard installation.

Yeah, I’d recommend everyone to use "Custom Installation" if they’re installing NAM 31 on top of an old NAM.

Not necessary.  The "Complete" installation will carry forward all options selected from previous installations.

The "Custom" installation does offer some additional options over the "Complete"; generally, these are ones that conflict with the standard installation (such as the Bullet Train Mod), or some of the lesser-used transit stations.

I assume because then you'd need to copy and paste your picture? Well here's a solution for that at least.

We are hoping NAM 31.1 will fix most of the crashes.

New one on me.  I have never had a crash using the in-game snapshot (CTRL+SHIFT+s).  The snap is loaded into your Albums folder as a PNG.  Just did one.  No problems.  I suggest you have a problem with other plugins.

At the time, I had no mods but the NAM. It happened with mods too.

Did you try deleting the street, and the bus stop, then try running the road then put the street and bus station back in? Sometimes I can get it to work if I do it in that order in very similar situations. Also, if the street causes the NWM to stop, I'll put a road out to the first tile and continue the street from there, Luck!! : )

Agreed, sometimes you can make things work when you build them in the "right order" but here the problem is persistent. The only workaround I found was to use a street instead of a road.

Does anyone in the NAM Team knows about these issues?

1. The highways use the Euro highway texture but the tunnels use the US highway texture.

2. Some of the rail textures around the overpass are brighter while some others are darker than the normal rail texture.

TSCT installed with NAM 31.  I have had the occasion to run this program today for the first time, and to my surprise I find that the user window cannot be resized and that material in the window extends off the right hand border.  Not nice, fellows!  All I want to do is see what's missing.  Here is a screen shot.

Not sure if this has been reported before, but I'm having this problem with elevated rail:

I've checked my plugins folder and I can't seem to find any other elevated rail prop mods or cosmetic mods.

Fresh install of SC4 and NAM31. Try to put down an SFBT Tram-Subway and as soon as I select the option, all my buildings disappear?

That looks like the Moonlinght Japanese El-Rail Facelift Mod, which is an optional NAM component.  You most likely have a z___NAM folder in your Plugins, which will contain a subfolder called "El Rail Alternate Implementation".  Remove that, and it should return to normal.

Oh, and as for "haven't updated for a long time," let me put it this way:  it's been long enough that the Grand Railroad Station bug is still present.

In the main NAM discussion thread a user has reported that the V31 installer failed when the game was installed on drive D:.

Does anyone know how to restore the default Maxis ground highways and elevated highways that I overrided with RHW style highways during the custom installation? Cause after the override of the Maxis highways things like this started happening:

73701793.jpg

70012270.jpg

Also I noticed that some interchanges like cloverleafs are missing. Will restoring the original Maxis elevated and ground highways solve that problem?

Another completely unrelated thing, how do I remove the ground fences around the elevated rail that I installed by mistake? Thank you.

That happens with your highways because those pieces are not replaced. You can't use the function to automatically create ramps (or cloverleafs,...), because that will show the old MHW. Instead, you plop the replacements that come with Project Symphony.

Oh wow okay. That makes sense. I would like to actually restore the default Maxis elevated and ground highways. Do you know how to do that? Do I just run the NAM installer again and not check the overrides for the Maxis highways? I would also like to remove the ground level fences from the elevated rail.
