This may have already been reported but since we're up to 400+ posts and 14 pages I would like to report a possible bug. When I use the "FAR OneWayRoad and Avenue Puzzle Pieces" menu and tab through the selections the game either crashes or quits responding when I try to tab from "Transition - Orthogonal one-way road to 18.4 degree FAOWR (2x4)" to "Transition - Orthogonal one-way road to 71.6 degree FAOWR (3x4)." It will on occasion allow me to tab to that but then I get some strange configurations around the piece and as I move the poece around the game will ultimately crash or freeze. I tried to snap a screen shot of the strange configuration but as fate would have it I can't get it to duplicate the screen. The game just quits responding and I have to go to task manager to shut it down. I am assuming NAM 31 is the culprit but if not maybe someone on here can point in the right direction to correct this. Thanks.

Edit: After doing some experimentation I found that when I run the game in DirectX rendering mode this piece works perfectly with no adverse effects. When I run it in Software rendering I get the not responding/crash effect. Once again, don't know if this is NAM related or not.

If you mean Rivit's program, I'd ask about that at SC4Devotion.

The preview model for that piece had some of the data relating to its geometry setup incorrectly.  We've fixed it on our end, and the fix will be propagated with NAM 31.1.

The good news is that most of the bug reports we're getting are "repeats" now, so we likely have a fairly full grasp of everything.

Thank you Tarkus. One other thing. What does it mean when it says "intersection string missing#" I get that on some pieces. I'm sure this too will be addressed with the update but I was just curious as to what that meant. Once again thank you for answering my question. It's nice to get an answer and not be directed elsewhere as I so often am. Y'all have done a wonderful job with the NAM and I am looking forward to the update as many are. Keep up the good work.

I searched the bug tracker but probably missed it from the terms.

Is MIS meant to intersect with 3-lane OWR-1? I know some of the NWM tiles have rough or unfinished intersections right now, but I wanted to make sure on this. (Yes, I'm trying to build service roads again.)

I also noticed that if MIS T-intersects with regular vanilla OWR, the paths are borked. If the MIS is dragged through to continue, the paths seem fine, thankfully. I'm considering having the MIS just continue past the OWR service road for another block or so and terminating on a regular road if T-intersections with OWR are impossible right now.

##Intersection String Missing## means that there is no string in place for the piece to describe/label the piece when you're cycling through the TAB Loop.  It doesn't otherwise affect the piece or its functionality.  I'd be curious to know which piece exactly is giving you that message, to make sure we've got that one fixed.

You mean the OWR-3?  The paths are actually borked in your screenshot for that +-intersection, too--we've already fixed that one on our end.  We're aware of the T-intersection problems as well--I'm actually working on that one while typing this.

I'll cycle through them to let you know which ones. There may be more than one but I'll get back with you on that.

Edit: Well Tarkus, it's like having a noise in your car and when you get to the mechanic the noise isn't there anymore. I went to the RHW-4 B1 ramps and they all worked fine. I couldn't remember exactly which one was giving me the issue but I couldn't duplicate the missing string at all. Maybe next time I just need to exit the game and restart it. When it happens again I will let you know what pieces it happens on. Thanks for your help.

The outer tiles of a diagonal L1 RHW-8C have missing paths:

If this has been reported, please forgive me a thousand times! :)

Hey, fellows, how's it going?  Is the new stuff in this thread dying down?  Any sign of a cut off point?

So far, all my work with V31 has produced delightful stuff, but I excluded RHW and GLR because I don't use either.  Other than those items that I didn't load, and some unhappy surprises with Project Symphony (now also unloaded), my cities convert just fine.  The new asphalt highway textures for MHW are great.  Had some trouble with that in the past, but all cool now.

Maybe a bug? Nam 31. Tram in Avenue will not activate. Not sure if I am somehow doing something wrong or what? I place the tram in avenue strait pieces leaving a 2x2 gap. I drop the station in the gap. I select the one way road to drag through it. If I only drag over the 2 tile side spaces nothing happens(as shown in videos n such). If I try and drag over the whole piece the game tells me I cannot place on reserve tiles.  I suspect the first Part is the correct method but it just wont activate. I don't understand why.

Your middle picture shows the correct way of activating that side of the station.  Just be sure that you drag the one-way road tool in the direction of traffic flow.  The fact that nothing looks different after activation is normal.

Thanks you. Maybe that's whats puzzling me because all the other pictures I've seen of stations show that the lines in the road next to the station are hashed like the rest of the street and the crosswalks move to the center.

My main reason for concern is that when querying my stations on the network in my actual city, I have zero tram usage 1 year after building it. pop of 270k. I just assumed it wasn't activated or something.

Well, it's still possible that something else is broken.  Do you know how to use the drawpaths cheat?  If so, turn on the paths after activation and post a picture of what you get.

Do we have to download a hotfix after downloading the newest version? Also, why don't the high speed rails have any stations??

Also for the new SAM streets, it's giving me these errors when I scroll to them:

Set 6: SAM Texture Set 6 Not Installed

Set 10: Intersection placement string missing.

Mind you I installed this ontop of my existing NAM 30 + hotfix installation.

There will be a full new version of the NAM (version 31.1) released shortly.  It should be installed on top of your current NAM, regardless of what version you currently have.

The high speed rail does have a pair of stations in the rail menu.  However, they have known bugs.  We recommend that you wait for NAM 31.1 before using these stations, as the bugs are fixed in that version.

I don't see the high speed rail stations in my rail menu.

I installed NAM 31 ontop of my NAM 30 + hotfix. I hope it didn't install incorrectly or something. Should I just delete my NAM folder (along with the RHW, SAM, RAM, etc. folders inside) and reinstall NAM 31 from scratch?

When you install NAM 31 (or NAM 31.x), it will automatically delete any past version of the NAM. Try redoing the installation, using custom installation. There should be a list for stations among the list of everything else.

Ok thank you. Should I delete my current NAM folder and then do the installation or just install it without deleting anything?

I've not installed a new version of... well, very much of anything in the past half-decade (and I'm holding out for 31.1).  Hopefully, I won't have too many issues with old files still hanging around, standing on street corners and causing trouble with their illicit code and loud bluescreens.

If in doubt, take out any transportation items from your plugins before the install.  V31 installer is supposed to do this, but for your own peace of mind, you could do this.

I wouldn't recommend this, as RTMT (for example) could be considered a "transportation item".  (Although I know that's not what you meant, others might not).  The Cleanitol feature has been improved for NAM 31.1, and it should take care of all conflicting files.  So we strongly recommend installing the NAM over any existing installation.  The installer will also get rid of duplicate NAM installations.

I was thinking this might be a special case.  The poster said he had not updated anything in five years.  I don't think RTMT was around five years ago.  Is the installer smart enough to get stuff that old?

I must say I have had few problems with NAM and much of the time it is me that is the problem.  LOL!  I just need to play with, read and learn some more.  Glad things are settling down and you will soon have it all taken care of.  Great job just the same.

I just re-installed the NAM using custom installation and the problems that I listed have been solved. Funny thing is the first time I installed NAM 31 I used "Complete Standard Installation" and that's when the things like textures, high speed rail stations, etc. became missing. Weird.
