Why do the mods on this website keep removing/editing posts...

that criticize the game in the name of preventing things from being repeated? Yet when I see people constantly praising the game by pointing out the same things, their posts aren't remove. I notice that I make several posts in one day and the next day I come back to see that half of them are removed/edited because I criticized the game or somehow got off topic by critcizing the game. If posts are removed to prevent things from being repeated then that's very silly since when you're discussing one particular game things will of course be repeated. It's frustrating to spend time posting on this forum and then have most of them deleted/edited the next day. It's a waste of time honestly.

There's a big difference between constructive and destructive criticism.

No. Criticizing is okay. Off topic stuff is not.

Because it's always the same thing they complain about.

Imagine someone saying the same thing to you non-stop for an entire year.

Yeah, It'd get pretty annoying.

Well posts have to conform to the site rules and should stay on the topic of a thread.

In this example, there is not much point in going off topic to criticize something about the game that's been said over and over again by numerous members for nearly a year. No sense beating a dead horse.

Yeah but the point is they remove the posts in the name of preventing things from being repeated. Yet when I see people praising the game by pointing out the same things (i.e. building modules, graphics, etc.) their posts are never removed. Isn't that a bit hypocritical? If the mods want to be more honest they should just say that they can remove any critcism of the game if they want to.

Perhaps it's because the amount of criticism the game gets is pretty disproportionately large compared to the praise it gets. Eventually it gets difficult to find good information or discussion because of how swamped topics get with people repeating how unsatisfied they are with the tile size/always online multiple times in every thread. And all of the simple opinion statements don't make for very good discussion(no matter how valid they may be).

Feel free to repeat what you have said (within reason), but in the dedicated topic. We aren't removing criticism, nor are we favouring praise, but we are removing any comments that stray off topic of the thread. Over the past year certain issues about the game have come up, and these issues started to take over other threads. It's hard to have any discussion about a game when there are different parts of the same discussion happening in almost every thread. For that reason, if you post a comment about the online only requirement in a transportation thread, its going to be removed, regardless of how you view the game, positive or not.

If you have any issues regarding how the site is moderated, please bring it up privately with any of the administrators.

Another point of view on "repetition"... It's not merely a matter of the same opinion being posted by several different members, but it is often the same individual members posting the same thing in several different topics, whether on topic or not. This also (and often) has led to topics going astray - whether pro or con. Regulating opinion is not the aim, but regulating the Topics is. Thanks.
