Well, here we are again: What don't you like about the entrance? Is there some modeling/texturing flaw? Is it not true to the original?

I refered to the general building in RL (I don't really like what the architects did to the entrance). That was the reason why I said good modelling before! ;)

Nice work as always Reddonquixote! :D Also, in the future Skyscraper, I'd suggest being more specific in what you like don't like, whether it be about the model or the actual building, and given constructive criticism when necessary. Ambiguity might make make your comment appear sort of "snarky" if you get what I mean. ;)

Wow.. lots of comments on my ugly BAT :P

Just a small update tonight, I've mainly worked on the glass and roof textures... thats about it.. oh and turned on the ambient occlusion, I had forgotten yesterday and I think its made a huge difference to the exisiting textures.

The base probably needs the most work now, the grey textures look a bit flat and bland, the glass looks like its missing, and there's a whole courtyard / cafe section I need to model in the back of the building, I kind of jumped the gun with textures. Not sure how did I get onto this building anyway.... so many unfinished projects already... :kitty:

YES! I was going to make this one day, its far from beautiful but it reminds me of Melbourne loads and loads. You've done an amazing job in it, very Scotty-esque :)

Glass looks great, work perfectly for this building..the concrete has plenty of texture however it tiles..look down the edges and you'll see those dark spots have a rhythm all the way down

    Thanks guys :)

Ok.. I need to finish something this weekend... first cab off the rank is 530 Collins Street. I nearly called defeat on the stone blocks and was just going to leave them as they were, but this morning I had a brain wave how to make them and I'm glad because it looks infinitely better. I'm going to finish off the night lights and should be able to post some pics soon. Depending what all you eagle-eyed people come back with hopefully I can start exporting tomorrow :D

    The bricks are looking better!

But I think that some of the roof tops on the way up are looking bare and maybe too clean?

Apart from that I think this is absolutely amazing! I also like the Optus Building, it is a welcome addition to SimCity! :D

Here's a first night render.. its taking a bit more work than I thought it would. Hopefully still be able to finish off by tomorrow.

RepublicMaster, although I agree with you, the roof is bare in RL, so I don't want to clutter it, but I guess I could make it less clean... I'll look at it again tomorrow :)

Thanks everyone... that was much better response than I expected. Not sure I need to change much now... Here's the rest of the night renders. Apart from the light leaking around the base of the building I think this is done. Im going to start exporting the day model now :)

Love the night rendering. The lobby area night lighting seems a bit bright, though if it's suppose to be that bright then my opinion seems to be invalid then.

Yeah, your nite lites are top notch. The only thing I wonder is why you always light up the whole floor.

That's because most modern office buildings are open plan. This building has all its offices, meeting rooms and breakout areas located around the lift core, and open plan office space around the windows. When the floor is occupied its usually right the way around. That's in the tower anyway. In the podium levels it probably isn't as evenly lit but I think it looks quite effective.

Yeah, I was taking my cues from this image below. I like it on 3 sides, its only on the East side that I think it might look a bit too bright (Bottom-left image above)
