I agree with Bipin.  It really is very nice indeed.  I suppose I'd best make more room for this gem now as well!

Never be ashamed of your models, they are wonderful and I would happily have them........Just giving you food for thought on the length of transition into the subway. I to wish it got released, but 4 years later, I don't think its going to happen.

I like those night lights, don't need to change anything, I think the amount of lights through the garden is spot on. Can't wait to have it!

That's a really amazing work :D

Does those fountains actually move or just frozen like that?

I think you should make a second squared version too, without those rectangular garden, for those who want it to place it inside a dense urban city, it will be very annoying and unflexible to find a place for that inside a dense city with those two sides rectangular sides.

But it doesnt really matter, we can always find a creative way to deal with it, it's a really great BAT indeed, where's it's real life equivalent? And what does it do?

Hi IL. Thanks for your comments and questions:

    • No, the fountains don't move unfortunately (is that even possible in SC4?)
    • Yes, it already is two lots. I've placed them together because that's how they go together, but you don't need to, you can just use them separately.
    • Its based on the National Gallery Victoria which is the main Art Gallery in Melbourne, but for the game the main building is a museum and the garden section is a park.

Thanks Xander & Libellibicus too :)

Perhaps it would be possible to mimic an animated prop by creating a series of fountain BATs which change rapidly as timed props, where each fountain is for all intents and purposes, a single frame in the whole animation. Painstaking I bet; for you would have to create at least 27 props for a single, smooth, one second animation, but it would be worth it. The fountain would truly be one-of-a-kind, as would you.; ;)

Actually yes you can, but that would be a pain in the  :ducky:

You have to export the fountain many times, each time the water is in a one position, after all, a video is just a big number of a consecutive photos of the same scene or object but with small changes in positions to make movement.

Maybe an Tuto for animated fountains or other stuff should be released if isn't already done :)

    I personally don't know how.

For a long time it had to be done manually in the reader and that process was so difficult that it was not practically possible.

Since then someone has released a tool which helps make them.  I don't know much about the tool but it makes them much easier to make.  But I think it only worked for gmax, and to use it to make animated props for 3ds max would require work in the reader.

Thanks for supportive comments everyone... just a quick update today, have to go out and inreact with the real world

This is the rest of the Arts Precinct, but this is as much as I can do today. Please post your comments and I can spend some more time on it tomorrow. Fyi, this is the Arts Centre Spire and Hamer Hall. The curved lot end at the Spire end overlaps with the open paved area of the Gallery, forming one continuous piece. The Spire & Hamer hall are just one lot, but the Spire.. well I have something special planned for that.. you'll have to wait and see ;)

The great thing about all of these Melbourne buildings is that they can be used in so many different types of cities.

Looks great but you need to work on the color of the trees, to me there to dark green, Sim City day is in the middle of the day. I wish you can use better trees to me they look cheap compared to your modeling. :)
