OMG Looks great!!! :D

The walls looks so glossy and reflective at night, I think you need to tone down the gloss and the reflections on the wall textures because the ground plan is showing it's on the walls. :)

Here's some night shots of the Art Deco BATs.. should be out sometime this week :

    Thanks for your comments.

"The Century Building is Marcus Barlow’s vertical Streamlined Moderne updating of his Modern Gothic Manchester Building on the next corner completed 6 years earlier.
With its abstracted corner tower, uninterrupted vertical fins and boldly horizontal and stepping streamlined canopy (the soffit is particularly notable), the limit-height Century Building is smartly Moderne. Common to both buildings, however, was the external cladding material: faience-glazed terracotta tiles, which Barlow used frequently as they provided a permanent and impervious finish. Wunderlich Limited, producers of faience, used the Century Buiilding in their advertisements, saying of it: ‘it gives a permanent freshness and sparkle to this fine building. Window spandrels are in hand moulded terracotta glazed neutral grey to achieve an arresting architectural contrast’."

The tiles are glazed in tin-oxide, akin to porcelain, hence shiny :D

Lovely buildings  and wonderful work on the models. I think Aaron is right. As glazed as they might be, they should be a bit less reflective imho.

This cutie looks awesome, I'd only adwise changing the ground plane so that the glass don't reflect that street.

About Palais Theater I think you should make it less bright like here, because it is radiant now:

And the main roof is I think plated with metal rather than concrete because on the satellite image it is of the same color as cupolas and you can see the plates.

With all this said, I'd like to say that you're doing AMAZING job and thank you for doing these lovely buildings :)

The problem is that's Overcast weather with very diffused light, which SC4's sun doesn't use. I think his recreation would be accurate to how it would be lit on a clear day.

Although, it does show that down the side is painted a cream colour, which isn't in the recreation.

Thanks guys, that was really helpful.

I have added more blue into the roof texture and darkened it a bit, that seems to have brought out more of the metal plating. Its actually quite reflective, but because there's not really anything for it to reflect its looks flat. I'm pretty happy with it though.

The cream wall, great pickup! I've made that section of wall more cream, but in doing so it has brought out more of the pink in the 'white' plaster. I'm reluctant to lighten it, it will become even more radiant.

I'm inclined to agree about the brightness of the photo. Its clearly a fine dreary grey Melbourne day when that picture was taken. Other images show it more brighter so I haven't changed those materials.

As for the street reflecting in the glass on Manchester Unity... .. I liked it. It looks like where Collins Street would be reflecting up on the glass. But I get that it probably isn't right for the BAT, so I will change it.  Here's an update on the Palais. Let me know what you think of these changes :)

All your projects are looking great!

I think the Palais looks much better now!

I kind of like the street reflection on the Century, perhaps it could be toned down, though? :)

Tbh, it seems to better complement the BAT. But that's just me, and I might be on a minority opinon :P

In terms of colour/hue, the roof looks much better, but the cracks and the overall surface texture still make my eyes think it's some kind of stone material, not metal.

As for the wall colours, at least on my monitor they look almost inverted: The cream-coloured upper side wall that can be seen on the photo has a colder greenish hue to it, whereas the front and lower side texture looks warmer, more pinkish, more like cream. Judgying by the photo and your latest progress shot, if you reversed the two textures and added some more yellow/orange to the cream texture, you might be closer to the original.

This is just my observation and it might be totally off, but I thought I'd submit it for discussion anyway. Feel free to shout me down, everyone. :P

The Arts Centre Melbourne comes in four colours (Blue, Red, Green & Purple), all four colours are available in Darknite and Maxis night versions.

Important: only download and install one choice of colour.

Once I work out how, I plan to release a multi-colour changing version as well.

You can make them timed props.

Lol... oh.. is that all?

Let me state it more precisely... "Once I work out how to make timed props, I plan to release a multi-colour changing version as well." ;)

I opened the tutorial, went this is too hard, and closed it again... but if you know how, be my guest! What do you need from me?  :P

Seriously, if you (or any other volunteers) want to do it, let me know if you need anything from me, I'd be grateful... truthfully I won't get around to it.

Good work with the roof and the whole BAT in general! Although there was one thing I noticed. The roof texture just so happens to have these two circular imperfections:

    8afcd250767dd409b45c69073f189b4996e949cb

However, they are only imperfections in this context, seeing as you have these two pipes of approximately the same diameter

     8afcd25076fee50015638d0f44763ecd167f6b77

The circles  in the roof texture caught my attention, I didn't like them at first, but I've come to realize that with a little tweaking they can look quite intentional and quite excellent, simply by realigning the texture to coordinate with these vents, or adding additional vents, which would also add some interest to the roof. Great work as always!

Huston, yeah, I'm still not convinced why it should be changed. We agree the cladding is glazed and glossy yet it should be de-glossified.. I'm unclear why?

I think you should go with what suits you. I'm fine with it either way, it's not going to change my overall opinion of the BAT (which is that it's great)! :)

Can't wait for those friggin' art deco ones! The Palais Theatre is an awesome BAT too, but I'm just not really into the plush megatheatre look, so I probably won't download it. Really beautiful BATs though. I love it!  :D
