Something along these lines?

Prototype:

Thanks Robkaper, best bump ever ;)

Here's an export of the Optus Centre glass, but this one definitely has the ground map and the reflections are more visible. Let me know what you all think?

(you could have real fun with these bridge pieces couldn't you :P )

I am so loving this pic... :O  :boggle:

So, did I get it right that you simply model everything in 3ds and then export to get this effect?

Also, are those bridges going to be ploppable. I guess so. If yes, you should render the actualy bridge seperately so you can set them and between those to bridge pieces you can building your street or whatever you want.

Good updates my friend!

SimCity 4, it's not a game; it's a work of art.

Thanks everyone.. looking forward to doing more on these river pieces now that I've seen what's possible :)

Sorry Skyscraper, not sure what you're saying. Yes, the bridges will be ploppable, in so much as they aren't draggable (and obviously not growable). But they aren't really bridges either. They are just sides of bridges (which is what I think you're suggesting?).

Optus Centre is close to being ready for release now, just one more export to do :)

I'd love it if you could make a Real Bridge version too, there aren't enough variants of dual-network bridges around.

Hi everyone, is up on the Stex now.

Sorry it took so long, I couldn't get a Diagonal version to work. The day model worked, but the night version kept coming out garbled so I gave up on diagonal version in the end.

    Enjoy!

Ps. I'll come back to the Melbourne posts after I've finished

The best part is that it made it to the STEX and not the list of those that never made it to the STEX!  Thank you!  :D

I love your work mate! Great work!

    Fellow Melbourne due here.

The RMIT complex (or part of it) on Swanston St would be awesome!  Or some Swinburne.
    Just suggestion. :)

Look forward to your upcoming projects. Excellent.

I reckon the green bit would be an interesting model, even though I hate it IRL.

Also Reddon, honestly how did you find doing Flinders St. Station? Because I took an overnight trip to Maryborough (it's a town just out from Castlemaine), and it possesses an amazing train station. I think that would be an interesting one to tackle.

Hey if you ever feel like batting up north (as if you don't get enough asks to do so already :P ) Maybe you could try your hand at Canberra's Telstra Tower? Long time Canberran here and viciously proud of my city, small though it is ;P

Wonder what will be next on the melbourne BAT tour?.

I still insist Southern Cross should be given priority, since modern railway stations of this kind are rarely seen in ST these years.

Hope Reddon will come back and consider my suggestion. :golly:

I think he did discuss doing Southern Cross, but it doesn't look good from an aerial standpoint. The inside and side is impressionable however.

(I never realised how many Melburnians there are here!)

FED SQUARE!!!!  Literally there is no BAT out there like this, and is an amazing example of the touristy city center of a major urban city (Times Square, LA Live, Union Square, etc in the US, none of which are BAT'ed).

While the night lights for Q1 are busy chugging away in the background (they are coming along nicely, but going to be quite a while before they are ready...) I thought I'd better start on my next Melbourne project which I want to have completed in time for Remembrance Day 11-11-2013, when I will upload it onto the STEX. Hope you like it :)

    I can't believe it's nearly November already!
