One question about the Grand Hyatt Hotel, is the whole complex one BAT? Or are some of the buildings props? I was thinking that the modern Hyatt building might be useful as a stand-alone building, without the older buildings surrounding it.

Being from Melbourne, I love all your stuff!  I especially cannot wait for Melbourne Central and the Crown Casino.
Will Melbourne Central have subway capability considering there's Melbourne Central station underneath it?  :P If not no worries.  I just can't wait for the building itself  :}

Oh btw.  Not sure if this is of any interest of you to make but I'd really love to see Etihad Stadium and the MCG considering the lack of AFL stadiums here on the STEX (it would be awesome if they came with jobs).

Keep up the excellent work!

I am truly overwhelmed by your work! The attention to detail... that is art, man!!! So thank you for contributing soooo much!!!

I wondered if you are planning to BAT some other Melbourne hotels... The thing is: There are loads of beautiful office towers, churches and other official buildings on STEX. But this site really lacks high quality hotels. I mean, hotels are totally neglected. In real life, hotels often are social points in theirs cites and contribute a lot to the flair and reputation of a city. I mean, everyone knows the RITZ in Paris or the SAVOY in London or the PLAZA in NewYork... And Melbourne has: Hotel Windsor, a beautiful palace-like building that I have always admired when google-streetviewing through Melbourne. Another hotel quite interesting is The Westin in Collins Street, just next to most of the buildings, you've so beautifully delivered... So I'd love to see Hotel Windsor or the Westin on Collins Street... What is your opinion on this?

Thanks man and regards from Berlin, Germany!

Looking absolutely amazing!!! You seem to put so much detail in, and in such a short amount of time :D Truly amazing

This must have just undergone a revamp, looking on nearmap's it seems they have changed the roof, but to be honest, I prefer yours (or google maps has the same).

Roger - yeah, the Google street view shows a delapidated building with construction around it, so must have undergone a renovation fairly recently. My roof though was more a case of making something interesting more than faithful recreation, the roofs I recall seeing were pretty much just expanses of white... although looking at the roof texture now I think its tiling too much. I will do a bit more work on it.

Xiaocai - funnily enough I was just thinking I need to do the Crown Metropol this morning when I was walking past, then you posted this about Melbourne's hotels.. and that got me thinking Melbourne has some amazingly beautiful and varied hotels, from the Victorian Winfield and Rialto Buildings to the glass curvature of the Crown Metropol and everything in between... I've just updated my list on the front page with these magnificent (and some not-so-magnificent) buildings a few others I've been meaning to add as well...

The Queen-Anne - Winfield Building and the Neo-Gothic - Rialto Building (Intercontinental Melbourne)

    2nd Empire - Hotel Windsor

    Beaux Arts (?) - Batman's Hill Hotel

Feel free to do whatever hotels you want...just keep working on Federation Square haha!  I have a beautiful plot of land with filler plazas in my city just waiting for that beauty, that's how excited I am about it!

You continue to churn out utterly amazing work.  My city looks like Melbourne by this point...

Oh and that Crowl Metropol building is one sexy hotel...that's gorgeous!

Red: It's great that we agree on the fact that Melbourne's fantastic hotels need to be represented here :-) While I was hoping for Hotel Windsor and maybe Westin only, you've added all the other beauties to your to-bat-list as well... So I really can't wait for them to be released here... Especially the Grand Hotel... The name says it: what a grand structure that is. It looks as if it could use some renovation, though... And of course all the newer hotel buildings! Awesome! Keep up the brilliant work! So looking forward to your next release. Good night from Berlin! XC

Dude, stop it!  Another one?!?  All three are insanely gorgeous so far!  I appreciate a) the speed you churn these out at so quickly and in large numbers, b) the fact that the quality is so so so high, and c) that every BAT you propose gets finished (and usually very quickly).  While there are many amazing BATers, to me what makes you special is the consistency and the ability to juggle multiple BATs and still get them all out in a very timely manner.  I think everybody knows how frustrating it is to see so many gorgeous projects on these forums and then for so few of them to be released, some abandoned and some just lagging on for months (if not years).  I love that when I see you start something, I can count on it to be finished and quickly.  My city becomes more and more like Melbourne with every BAT!!!

Looking amazing..Palais is a great model however it looks a bit washed out and cold, which is true to life but it might stand out in game, I'd make it a little warmer and do the usual trick of a layer of pink set to opacity 5% (ish) over the texture.

The Grand Hyatt looks more golden in the picture you posted and not as silver as yours, although i think it depends on the weather that day as to how it apepars in RL.

As always you are doing an abolutely stunnning job on the buildings from one of my fave cities
