rooker1: Thanks buddy and yes that is Goldivas flora mod..

Yoman3: Thanks for the compliment my good friend. To be honest I don't even use the Maxis Landmarks anymore, they aren't even on my machine. As a result when I first started this project I completely forgot about the Maxis Castle. I appreciate the compliment ..

PhilsCafe: Hey my good friend. Thanks again for your awsome support.. The Engish language has certainly benefited LOL..

Update 38 Slayfork Lumber Mill, Coal Plant added.. Dedicated to jacqulina

    macedonasorchincj2wx.gif

Today I want to focus on creating a Lumber Mill and adding eye candy to the Maxis Coal Plant which I have used to power Westfork..

Here is the area. It's located on the north side of the lake (as of yet unnamed). The residential community I created in my last update is on the southeastern shoreline..

    coalminelumbermill1of8.jpg

Lets terraform the area where Slayfork Lumber Mill will be:

    slayforkmillandcoalminestartua0.jpg

    Time to plop the mill:

    slayforkmillandcoalmine1gm7.jpg

Time to smooth out the area where the Mills parking will be...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine2ju3.jpg

Lets move back the shoreline a bit to add some parking by the Coal Plant... Lets also add jeronij's breakwater pieces...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine3hx2.jpg

The area is reading for parking...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine4md7.jpg

Details, details and of coarse details..

    slayforkmillandcoalmine5gq3.jpg

Time to add flora both in the water and on land...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine6qn3.jpg

A close-up of the Coal Plant...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine7ut3.jpg

A close-up of Slayfork Lumber Mill...

    slayforkmillandcoalmine8ev5.jpg

And finally a night pic of the entire finished area:

Have a great day everyone. Comments of coarse are always welcome.. EVEN LURKERS44.gif

Amazing update, sorchin! The details you put into something as ugly as a coal plant really makes it pleasing to look at once finished. I'm curious, what is that lot that you placed next to the coal plant (with the pipes and 2 signs)? I've never even thought about adding parking areas to my power plant before. Definately going to have to add some more detail to my industrial areas. Waiting in anticipation for your next update as usual!

    Cya around!

Concerning the update on the last page: Nice work with the highway and railroad winding through the land! The little community looks great as well, especially with the flora you used, and the visible automata thing is pretty cool to know about. Nice BAT teaser as well, and good luck with that. I look forward to more!

Concerning the update on this page: Now that's one heck of a thoughtful job! Where did you get the lot between the pipes by the coal plant, or are the pipes part of the lot (and if so, where can I find it?). You are one of the greatest eyecandy masters on ST!

Hey Steve, interesting setup for the lumber mill!

First time I see it used with Jeroni's breakwaters, original tIhinking!

I would really not want to live near that coal plant though, great looking (in a way) but not the kind of building you want next door!

    Take care mate!

I have two updates to comment, so let's do it.

    1st update:

After looking at the highway bridges, you can really say that it's a shame we don't have diagonal ones.. it would be much easier, wouldn't it? But you, however, even without them were able to make the highway bridge system look very good. That's a nice job 1.gif Then we have the residential area. Hm, that's a good idea about diagonal streets and medium density.. I think I'll try that. I like the flora too. What are those flowers\parks lots? I haven't see them before.

    2nd update:

Good integration of the mill with water and breakwater walls. What's more, with added underwater flora which fades so nice into deeper parts of water, it looks just perfect. It's good to see much parking space, and you made a nice use of pipelines -  a small detail, but it does so much!

    I'm looking forward to more!

    Hey buddy.

Beautiful setting for the Slayfork Lumber Mill, once again great details. I like your use of the Coal power plant very much, it really makes sense there...

What caught my eyes are the logs on the shore, what a beautiful detail.

    Take care Steve.

jaquilina: Hey thnks Jacky. I have spent most of my weekend working with the BAT (I sound like some kind of mad scientist or something)11.gif. LOL. Thanks for your comments my dear friend..

ript73: Thanks buddy. The pipes are part of the Sun Oil Pipeline.. enjoy.. They are very handy..

crazychickensc12: WOW. Thanks for the amazing compliment buddy. Your not so bad yourself..44.gif

cityhawk: Hey buddy. I really appreciate your comment smy good friend.. Your looking for the Sun Oil Pipeline.. Thanks again my good friend..44.gif

wallasey. Hello my friend. I hope you are doing well? I appreciate your comments mate..

    cowcorn: Thanks bbuddy.

cjah: Thanks very much my good friend9.gif

Darmok: Hey John my friend. I'm attempting to create more of a lower wealth city here. I have the pollution turned on (some of my cities I use a cheat to turn pollution off), and I plan on taxing the middle and higher wealth levels astronomically. Hence the Coal Plant4.gif See ya soon my friend..

bat: Thanks again my good friend..

szarkoz: Thanks for your very detailed comments my good friend. With the new bridges being created (as well as blahdy's and buddybuds tunnels and underpasses) SC4 is taking on a whole new life. But unfortunately diagonal bridges are too complicated 15.gif. BTW your looking for the wildflower puzzle pieces found here. Enjoy my friend..

PhilsCafe: Thanks as always Phil my good friend. With so many great mods and BAT's on the STEX it's so much easier to create something nice. See ya soon..44.gif

    GMT: Thanks my good friend..

dedgren: LOL. It's hard not to like someone with a great sense of humor, even if he is a lawyer. LOL. Seriously though your absolutely right. That's exactly what happens. I have nearly 10,000 views and only 500 and something posts. Everyones cj is like that. O well.. What can ya do? Hopefully eventually they will... unlurk.. themselves..2.gif See ya soon my good friend.. I appreciate your "unlurking" comments..

jacqulina: He is most certainly a funny guy44.gif

Yoman3: Hey buddy thnks very much mate. I'm glad your cj is up and running again.44.gif

Kwakelaar: Hey mate. With all the great BAT's for industry now available it is certainly worth paying more attention to industry.. Thanks again mate..9.gif

    luigiguy: Thank you my friend...

eggie99: WOW. I'm humbled my good friend.43.gif.Thank you very much

Thanks everyone for your great comments. They are always welcome. And as dedgren always says.. Lurkers come out, come out wherever you are (well actually I said that), but he first made the point that lurkers are always welcome to comment. Make yourself at home44.gif

As I said a week ago I will on a rotational basis make an update in my journal, then in my BAT thread up until my operation (September 6th). Today is my BAT update, have a look at a new train station I'm attempting to create. I have also created an easy to follow tutorial on mapping out complex texturing and applying them to your models. Please check out my BAT Thread and comment. Thansk again for your awsome support my good friends..

    Have an amazing day

I have been away from this CJ for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long a time.

    I am sorry Steve.

Great mill you have build there. Very nice how you added those sand roads along side it. It makes the mill look even more realistic!

I will now look at all the things I have missed in this CJ.

See ya at the next update.

wow i was in a jam with deciding how to do my new CJ, but all it took was a long scroll through one of my favorite CJ's and i got some ideas. I love how you show us how you develop your citys and how there's never an update of a whole city. Instead you show us how you designed each aspect and it really helps everyone else's city building. Thanks for this wonderful CJ scorchin!

    Hey Sorchin!

I like the last update - in particularly the way u 'merged' the mill and the plant to the 'embankment' *grin*

    Looking spiffy!
