Update 37: Highway and Rail transit networks plus a residential community is born: 

Dedicated to crazychickensc12  

Today I will be creating a transit network for both a highway and railway in Westfork. I will also include a small community (the first in Westfork) and one of cogeo's rail stations.. In the mosaic you will also notice I have incorporated blahdy's big dig for highway also: I hope you enjoy my friends..

Lets first develop the highway:

Continuing:

Lets add a second and third bridge: Notice in the top section of the pic I have prepared for the big dig project:

Lets add a rail line:

And an adjacent rail bridge in conjunction with the highway bridge:

Lets complete the rail line with a tunnel under the highway:

Now a small mosaic of the transit system I just completed: Notice the big dig completion at the top...

OK. Lets create a small little residential community with an accompanying rail station by cogeo:

First lets lay the roads:

Now lets zone: If you want the diagonal streets to connect to sidewalks instead of grass (Driveways that connect to only grass looks unrealistic), then lay medium density zones instead of light density. See how the sidewalks connect to the roads...

Lets now create the rail statiion: I'll show you in a minute why cogeos stations are so amazing...

Time to add parking:

The next pic shows you why cogeos stations are so cool. Notice the train can be seen "passing through" the station. cogeo was the first to do this I believe. It may not seem like much, but it is very difficult to create...

These are the first apartment buildings to go up in Westfork...

First of all Thank you for dedicating an update to me I shall have to return the favor and second of all Wow!!! that transportation network is awesome, the scenery is amazing!! I was wondering though do you use a mod that allows you to see underwater its more in your earlier pics but u can see the underwater flora great like the Goldiva's reefs and rocks, anyways awesome update!! Can't wait to see more!!

Hi Steve. Another beautiful update buddy.

The transportation network looks very well layed out, very creative. I like cogeo's semi-transparent trainstations, good choice there. Westfork looks very nice as well. It always looks so easy when you start to zone a new community. I know it's not, but your "freestyle" zoning (in contrast to grid zoning ) lends some airiness to it, if that makes sense... Lol.

However, I enjoyed your update very much. Take care.

Once again, another awesome update. That big dig project looks awesome. Going to have to d/l that. And thanks for the tip about the diagonal sidewalks. Little tidbits like this really help out the rest of the community, I'm sure. Can't wait for the next update and hope your recovery is going smoothly.

Awesome update.  I really like the Big Dig.  Great high way over the islands.  And nice little town.  Very realistic turns with the rail lines.  great job.
