DEVELOPING MACEDON

Hello and welcome to my second CJ, DEVELOPING MACEDON. 9.gifThe map can be found in the maps section (Macedon). As some of you know my first CJ was wiped out due to a hard drive crash 8.gif and I have been working feverishly over the last 2 or 3 weeks to, not only get this CJ going, but re-installing SC4 and all of the MODS, BATS, and LOTS that I have re-downloaded from the STEX and other places. I have taken precautions to ensure this doesn’t happen again…er…well… hopefully doesn’t happen again.43.gif

CONCERNING POSTS AND UPDATES: I will do my best to post 5 or 6 days a week (I need at least 1 or 2 day(s) off to refresh myself). My definition of a post is simply replying to your comments or keeping everyone updated on the updates. As far as an actual update is concerned I believe it’s best to update when I’m satisfied with what I have done. 2.gif In other words, I won’t be updating every single day, but most days. I have been working with the LOT EDITOR and am having fun. 39.gif I would like to try my hand at the BAT. But it really doesn’t look like it’s for me. 46.gif We shall see. This might hamper the speed of an update as well45.gif

I would like to thank not only all the people listed in my signature, but many others who have greatly influenced me over the last several months. 44.gif In fact what I’m going to do is dedicate each update to one of those people and post a hyperlink to that person’s accomplishment. 44.gif This not only includes fellow CJ’ers but the amazing BATTERS and MODDERS as well. This is just an experiment; let me know what you think.1.gif

    Wow, I only commented a few minutes ago, lol.
    Looks great. Love the effect on the first pic, I always enjoy CJs were everything starts from the beginning.

    I really like the look of the region and the effect you used on that pic and the first pic of this latest update is really cool.  Looks like an interesting transportation network.  I like how you connected the rail bridge under the road top bridge.

    Wow! This is going to be a very nice City Journal, I can already smell it! 19.gifGreat work, I'm really enjoying your details. I for one am thinking this may be another SCR. I believe so! Everyone uses that white sand mod. Hmm.. Very Interesting great work did I say that already. 18.gif

    Nice region and a nice start.

    I like you transportation layout, just a bit... complicated (I am not against this as most of our real city's transport system is haywire)

    I look forward at the building stage and how you florish your city.

    Wow this CJ has everything! A beautiful region with great terraforming, stunning looking mountains and beaches, detailed and amazing transport networks, huge bridges and step by step city development. Can't wait for more! I hope your hard drive doesn't crash again.

    sorchin, the only better thing than your terraforming and your photoshop skills are your building skills...you are off to a blazingly great start here. your opening shot is spectacular, i love the island bridges, and your step-by-steo process of creating your railway station is very well done.

    Thanks for showing how you developed the train yard.  This is something I have struggled with in the past. 

     
    I am looking forward to the industrial area development.  Will you run a rail through that area or setup a freight station near the existing passenger station.

    Sorchin, very good start, wow, you update very fast too. I apreciated the train yard tutorial, it's the first time I see someone using separate rail tiles as a terraforming tool! Interesting!

I am now glad I did19.gif I'm not sure yet how I will develop the Industrial area. I might use some of PEGS new canal tiles. I believe it comes with an industry port of some sort if I'm not mistaken.     Off to a great start! I really like the bridge tunnel combo and the way you layed out your road network and industrial areas so far. The rail lines look promising too. My only concern is the multiple track crossings near the Il Tonsko lot. The game's engine has problems when too many tracks cross over each other. You might find a visual traffic jam of stalled trains in this area depending on how much usage you get. For this reason you might want to simplify the area and illiminate some of the crossings. Other than that everything else looks great and I am looking forward to seeing more updates!
