  1. Am I the only one who thinks that tile size is a none issue. I played the beta 3 times through and I had only scratched a quarter of the entire city each time. Sure you could just blast through the entire tile but you could do that in any other Simcity.
  2. Origin Friends

My Origins is Skyrunner23. I plan to preorder no matter how the game goes.
  3. Discussion about City Tile Size

The only problem I had with the farm idea in the past was that haw would the resources be collected. Now I think that you may build a granary type facility and it would send out trucks to collect the resource of food. The Trucks would come back to store it in the granary facility. The amount of food brought back would rely on water and season. Also there would only be certain parts of the region with farms to keep with the comparative advantage.
  4. Good old isometric view?

You could say that but what difference would there be between this Simcity and Simcity 4. Just wondering but how would you have updated the game?
  5. New Screenshots

Is it just me but do the cities look closer than before. Seriously the cities are almost a stone throw away in that last picture compared to the other region shot.
  6. SimCity: Regions

I actually like this Idea in my town the actual city part fits into the 2km x 2km limit but the the rest of the city limit is taken up by farms
  7. New Screenshots

Everytime i saw a screenshot like this i laught at "cities don´t live in a bubble" yeah, maybe in 4 bubbles. Bubbles refer to the non interaction of cities. All Simcity 4 did better than Simcity 3000 was to allow you to control those cities and let people work there. Now they have added the ability for multiple people to play in a region and the spread of resources such as pollution, police coverage, and Natural resources. Simcity 4 cities basically lived in a bubble where the only thing that could cross borders was sims and Neighbor deals. While your city floated through space. Only being able to see other cities in Region view.
  8. When was the point of making a game not about money. Developers have to eat too. Simcity is a game designed to be able to pick up and play, while having to have to think about what your doing. Not everybody who enjoys strategy enjoys Solo-Player. How do you think chess got invented.

What thing in the game has made this Simcity Societies. That image above is from E3 in June. You don't just plop buildings you zone, Is not based on culture building, and this is made by Maxis.
  10. SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks

Have you read Guillaume's post in the "New screenshots" thread ()? Seems there are no elevated roads as long as you are not starting the dragging of the road not from a hill... So I guess the so called three level overpasses Dirk has told about have been cancelled... As I said over on that thread to the person who asked he was probably referring to the not able to create elevated intersections. This is the real reasons there are no subways. The station would have to deal with 3D paths. Also if you want visual proof check out the video Ocean Quigley Producer Diary: SimCity Overview (coming March 5, 2013) How would the road even be able to detect it was a hill. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone at Maxis.
  11. SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks

We have dirt roads, 2 and 4 lane streets, 4 and 6 lane avenues, ground light rail, ground light rail within 6 lane avenues, rail, ferry, and air. To me that's not "Just roads, avenues and a crappy railroad". That's the most roading and rail options every in a vanilla SimCity, even without the highways. By vanilla, I hope you mean base game and are not comparing it to SimCity 4: Rush Hour because that has streets, roads, avenues, one way roads, elevated rail, subway, train, monorail, ground highway, elevated highway, passenger ferry, car ferry, and 3 types of airports (5 if you include the rewards). However, I believe that extra transport options will eventually be added though I am disappointed that one way roads are impossible. I was hoping that the Glass Box engine could be tweaked to make it so that one can upgrade roads (with the right conditions) to one way roads. --Ocram Nobody from Maxis has said that One-way roads are impossible Oh yeah? Sure about that? The intercity rail lies outside your jurisdiction, so either way it's gonna just snap on to it in a totally random and illogical manner, unless you're lucky. About the selection of roads, they're all the same, except different sizes. All quite unexciting actually. Air traffic you say? You mean the airport reward you have to share with four or more other minicities? The tram system is an interesting and welcomed addition I admit. But I must say that I will be astounded if they deliver a game which totally separates road and rail traffic like any modern, sensible city would do. But I sense that visual realism never was the top priority of this game. Trade and management is. I don't like it, but it is probably fun for some. I just feel that they've got enough games, and I don't get why Maxis acts as if there was something inherently wrong about SC4 to be ashamed of... #1-Your right but it has nothing to do with how it will snap. #2-How is that different from Simcity 4 in reality except for Highways but you can build elevated avenues that can be built anywhere #3-There is a great works airport and a city based airport #4-They did #5-Have you seen Glassbox #6-They aren't ashamed of Simcity 4 they are ashamed of Simcity societies. #6B-Simcity 4 was released a decade ago
  12. Information from the Reddit

Sorry if copying this from Reddit could play into problems for Maxis. I will delete the information if told to do so or a mod can delete the whole thread.
  13. THIS INFORMATION IS NOT FROM ME I don't know how reliable this information is but this is the Alpha change log I got from Reddit (After debating with myself I decided to delete the information) Sorry Maxis
  14. New Screenshots

That's something I wanted to do but it doesn't looks like it's going to happen Why on earth not? Its obv possible and is the only way to avoid crossing other roads without having an intersection. its just plain stupid that i would have to have a hill on my tile to utilise an elevated road. I wish who ever thought about restricting this feature would rethink it as its in my top 2 after realistic traffic. He meant the intersection not the elevated road.
