Update 5: Criminal Man!

Today's updates will be a different one, about a criminal...

Recently, a car theft (from Genoa) on parole broke into a car in Genoa Heights. After a friend called and told him the police were waiting at his house, he fled the city. He drove for an hour down the highway and exited here.

He drove down this road until he stopped at a bank in downtown Highland. Here, he made a new account under a different name and deposited all the cash he took out of his former bank. He also took a free cookie.

As the sun was setting, he parked his in this garage.

Later, he met up with a friend and moved into the apartment next to him.

For now, it looks like he's home free. Highland is a big place, and the Genoa police don't even know he's gone yet!

Very nice. Good to see farmland. I find the hardest part is deciding how much farmland to have, since when cities first were settled in the American frontier the land was often sparsely settled and cultivated, but nowadays most land is farmed...so I've never found the perfect balance...of course with all the farmland it looks very realistic and true to the present day.

I like the farmland in region view very much. Not for its realism, but for its imagery and artistic vision. I am very new to SC4 and have not installed any mods yet. I have been browsing photos to get a better understanding of the game and what I want to do with it. Did you use any mods or photo editing on the farmland or is this classic SC4 and layout skills?

Update 7: Northern Suburbs

Today's update will be about the cities to the north of Highland, Hoffman Estates and Barrington.

Hoffman Estates is a suburb of Highland located right on the coast. Its population is approximately 45,000 people. It has a few hotels near the ocean.

Due to Hoffman Estates's major commercial and residential population, traffic can be a problem, especially on weekends. The city spent millions of dollars on building a tunnel and a new intersection to help traffic flow.

Further east is Barrington. It is bordering another suburb, Rosemont, to the north. Most of Barrington's business and retail is around the highway.

On the left is Barrington, on the right is Rosemont.

This is a medical building and also has offices.

Located towards the edge of the city, is a Best Western hotel.

Update 8: Airport Proposal

Highland has been getting increasingly more popular for tourists to visit and the populations of farm towns are rising at a very fast pace.

This is Burlington now. New apartments, stores, and homes have been built around the outskirts of the small town.

So, the Highland Department of Transportation is trying to find space for a new airport. But they have a problem, all of the city is completely developed. To the north, the forest is to mountainous for an airport. To the east, new suburban communities are being built. To the west, the ocean is occupying the space. That only leaves the south. Right now, the area south of Highland as a few farms, but more available space than anywhere else.

Do you see that city limit edge on the bottom-left part of the picture? That is the City of Rockford, where the Aiport is going to be built.

This is going to be a very busy time for Highland. Because the airport is not as close to Highland as the planners would like, a new expressway is also going to have to be built.

Next update, we will see the Rockford, and maybe some progress on the new expressway. Go ahead and comment, I need suggestions (you'll know if you've seen Genoa's airport) !
