Here's one of my suburbs, it's not all that big but it's a suburb, though a small one. From what I can tell from all the CJs here and these kinds of forums is that some people know how to build cities.2.gifpost-464302-0-02827600-1326223829_thumb.

Wow that is a really nice rural-looking suburb! And it looks like you have the same street side mod as me. But to post a bigger-better picture, check out the link in my signature that says,"How to post pictures". ;) Maybe you should start a city journal. :)

I'm flattered by your compliments Jack3oh343.gif. Personally I think I still have a lot to learn before diving into creating a city journal, but man how I love reading a good city journal3.gif. I'm going to check your little tutorial, have a nice day mister.

Just a little bit of suburban sprawl in one of my cities.

And a close up with labels.

I was just playing around in Photoshop and this happened and I'm actually really proud of it, both the edit and the neighborhood!

Would anyone be interested in seeing the suburban sea that Río Bronce is?

General view:

@-JD- Let me guess--took a daytime and a nighttime screenshot and used some blend effect across the overlapping portion of the shots?

These are two pictures of a suburb in a region (and possible future CJ) I am currently working on. The region itself is based on just about any one of the medium-sized cities in Michigan (Flint, Lansing, Kalamazoo, etc.) and I am trying to recreate that effect. Said suburb is actually one large city tile comprised of many "subsections/subdivisions/neighborhoods" combined to form my version of a "census-designated place", as is the case with many newer, incorporated suburbs in the United States.

NorthPhilipsburg-Nov25861330941188.png

A small residential area. There is a dance club, industrial building, and fire station on the main road, with some small houses abutting the main road. For density and variety, there are some tacky apartment buildings. This area is actually intended to be lower-to-middle income. You can clearly see I haven't finished this yet, but I'm sure you pretty much get the gist of what I'm looking to accomplish here.

Not too far from aforementioned residential neighborhood is the suburb's shopping area. K-Mart is to the left, BP is on the lower-right, and next door is a cheap Red Roof Inn. This stretch is just off of a spur highway exit (a part of the same highway you see in the first picture), and the left-hand turn lane at the top is actually part of a SPUI I built.

This is about 85% complete now, though I may rework some of the older bits at some point.

Good suburbs Legobuilder, there are several things you can do to improve your images:

-Minimize the control panel

-Turn off the grid

-Turn off UDI zots
