nice job morlow, maybe it was just those other pics cause these look better (and not cause the trees)

Get the urban housing mod, SC4 realism mod (if you can't find it google SC4 Realism Mod simtropolis) and make sure your city detail is on high in the settings, I forget this every time i make a new region. And P.S., the only one you need is the Realism Mod, since the urban housing mod will mean you'll need to remake your cities

As a former BATter myself, Suburban realism mod just doesn't work with custom content(it's basically relots of default Maxis content).

Here's mine: Still a WIP blackport2.jpg
Looks good, especially how all the roofs are the same color despite them being Maxis houses (did you selectively block them or something?). I'd say that it would look a lot better with retaining walls, especially on some of the steeper one-tile slopes. There is also a set of walls available for multi-tile grades if you want them; I believe it's called Japanese Retaining Walls (or Slope Walls). Maybe you'd want to consider adding some walls.

@Morlow: Looks nice; I always have the most trouble making the transition from suburbia to wilderness or farms at the outer edges.

@MoonrakerO: Most of them are actually custom content made by Gn_Leugim that he specially made to look like their Maxis counterparts, including entrances, roof colour and architecture. Japanese retaining walls somehow look out of place with my tropical theme, BTW, retaining walls in my country(Indonesia) are quite rare, you only see them in the most steepest of areas next to roads, we simply don't have the extra money to do that. If nature itself can tame nature, then why fix it when it ain't broke?

love that classic american suburb (except its usually farms or trees, not both) and the pic, did you use photoshop to fade it like that?

Was that directed at me? If so, nope, no photoshop. I also thought a little more of some european suburbs as far as you can call them that. Where I live, you often see these large meadows lined with trees.

Here's one of the suburbs of my city, my intent was a pre-WWII Midwest/Mid-Atlantic styled suburb:

Of course, a large suburban town isn't without a sprawling commercial area:

Very nice suburb, Higu! Don't like the tree repetition so much, but the diagonal roads are perfect

East Capital in New Avalon City

Diagonal Roads, so suburban like! P.S., the blackish trees look a little weird though...

Hey, SCFuturist, did you make those re-lots of kevdan's restaurants or did you download them? They look pretty nifty, I would like those.
