Great Updates Chocolatemax!

Love again that beautiful region shot. Great.

Nice to hear those Llama's are taken special care of.

Very nice pictures. The first one is absolutely stunning. That railway-motorway intersection 6.gif
In the second picture, I would leave that last concrete wall section away. It looks a bit out of place.
That picture of small houses in green river is wonderfull. I am not sure if it was your intention but you made a very nice lane of trees. That picture says it all about Green Depra.
The next picture of this tiny intersection is also nice, but how does one get to that white bench? (details, nag, nag, nag).
Finally a thought on pools. If you look close anough at the pictures of the tall rises you notice that the pools of the appartment buildings are in the shadow of the buildings (yikes, Cold!) But that shadow is not shown in the pool's reflection. Now that's not something you can do anything about, I just noticed it.

How many inhabitants do your towns have?
I do not have any highrises in my towns yet (maybe just because I have not lain down any highdensity blocks, duh).

Anyhow, Great updates, you get better with every new update.

Having Green in the title of your CJ certainly fits. I've never seen such vibrant shots before. My computer gets jealous.

    Update 17

    Now this will be a quick one, but I'm preparing for a larger one.  Sorry everyone, I've had just no time this week.  Exams! Huh.

    After the expansion of Blackberry Inlet, there has been a massive demand for tourism in Green Depra so a major new port has been set up in Blackberry Inlet to cope with the huge influx.

    This update is dedicated to MasterPlan Man, who has provided the fantastic ships seen here!

    Well, I know it was a crappy short update, but thats all I have time for right now.  I also don't have time to answer everyones comments right now, but a huge thanks to everyone who commented!

    jacqulina Thanks, glad you liked the bridges and the pics!
    oroen Thanks, I'm glad you liked the region shot and I liked the first picture too.  I though it had everything and looked realistic.  Thanks for your comment. 48.gif
    SYM Productions Thanks so much for your gracious comments! 19.gif Thank you for your comments, and I'm really glad you think its realistic too!  We have a rail tracks banking up and passing over roads and such here in Melbourne too, thats where I got the idea from.  I agree, trees are definately something to be prowd of! 9.gif I wil update as much as I can!! SOrry I haven't updated much this week, but I'll try! 16.gif Cheers, mate.
    Nik-nik Thanks. 5.gif Thanks for your advice and I'm glad you liked the first pic, I did! Yeah, I love to make lanes of trees, so it kinda was intentional!  Oh, good point about the bench, I guess its for the Llamas!  2.gif Yeah, thats a good point about the pool shadows, thats really annoying actually! But as you said, there isn't really anything I can do about it!  Well, the region is stil quite small but just hit 155,000 people.  Thanks for your handy feedback, you have a great attention to details, I always miss them! 48.gif Thanks, Nick.
    SC4 meister Thanks man! 44.gif Glad you loved the update!  Thanks for the great intro!   Very appreciated! 19.gif9.gif

    Oh just one thing everyone, I have decided that the two correct guessers from the soccer game on page 5 will have towns named after them!! I know this is really late, but I'm sure they will be happy. 4.gif  Congradulations Oroen and Nik-Nik, you will each have a Green Depra City named after you!! If you have any specific requests about the names or the type of cities then feel free to ask! 2.gif

    Thanks everyone!

    Nice updates. Always nice to see the Ikea.

    Very nice that ferry harbor29.gif
    I love that commercial building at the harbor (at the end of the green ferry, which unloads the lorries). I believe it is a Maxis building that you cannot plop. It fits here perfectly.
    Where did you get that round LNG tank? Can you steer me towards it? 5.gif

    Wow a town called after me 43.gif
    Now Nik-Nik is not a real town name, try Wilminkton (notice the K) Wilmink is my surname. Probably you know the various towns in UK and USA called Wilmington, I always wondered if that is due to a distant reletive of mine....
    Well now that does not matter anymore as I will (hopefully) have my name in Green Depra. 39.gif39.gif39.gif

    Hey choco, I've missed a few good ones.
    Great work again, that seaport of yours is very good looking! The mosaic on the previous page is really great I like the little train station that splits the railway! I saw it on a japanese site but they were saying it was only for the japanese SC4 version! So my guess is it does work on our versions too.

    I also like very much the railway overpass, lots of work and details in it!

    Take care48.gif

    The region shot looks spectacular and very unique!

    Thanks for the dedicaton ~ you have done a fine job of placing the lots! I really liked the night shot of the low res area. I also liked how you placed the round-about near the Japanese train station.

    Keep up the great work ~ will be back for more!

    Update 18!

    Okay, this upadate is the first in a series which will come between today (friday) and sunday.

    This is an update entirely dedicated to the new RHW mod!  It is a brilliant tool and I have found it incredibly valuable to my game!  This is my thankyou to the RHW team.  Thats right, Green Depra has Rural Highways!

    So this update is dedicated to Qurlix!

    Recently, the Green Depra roads which lead out of distant rural lands have been annoyed at the clogging of their roads, particularily with Freight Trucks.  There has been many requests and complains towards the Green Depra Shire Council ot build a highway to reach them, but the council has said many times that they cannot afford to build a large expensive line out to all the rural areas.

    That was until Mr Qurlix, a Blackberry Inlet resident, suggested another option.  The Council fired two of its advisors for not thinking of building a cheaper rural highway to reach the farms on the outskirts of town.  So a large grant was accepted to connect more of Fur Hills with Salt Bluff and Blackberry Inlet.  This new highway will open up many more options for Fur Hill and its farming residents allowing them to send freight much more easily into town and out through the seaports into Gold Depra.

    The new Highway of Green Depra has been named The Meister Moterway

    A Green Depra newspaper helicopter has been flying through Fur Hill and took photos of the new highway, it started up on the Green River side of town and worked down to the area of Fur Hills lining Salt Bluff.

    These were the shots taken...

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW12.jpg align=baseline>

     <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW6.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW13.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW2.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW11.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW3.jpg align=baseline>

    To provide best access to the surrounding Industrial areas a roundabout has been created, which connects the Miester Moterway with two seperate roads, a total of six connections.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW7.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW10.jpg align=baseline>

    The roundabout then turns back into the moterway and connects to Salt Bluff.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW8.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW5.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW19.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW4.jpg align=baseline>

     <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW9.jpg align=baseline>

    This new highway has opened new economic doors for Fur Hills and has caused a huge demand for new High Tech industries.  This is just another step towards Green Depras Independance, although it is yet to even reach the Gold Depra Parliament.  The Shire Council of Green Depra has decided that once the economy is self-sufficient they can look at the other areas needed to make Green Depra viable for Independance.

    But lets have a look at this new development...

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW14.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW16.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW17.jpg align=baseline>

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW18.jpg align=baseline>

    (please forgive the bump in the road, it was a mistake which I just realised)

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/RHW15.jpg align=baseline>

    The road to an independant Green Depra starts with the economy and then ends with the government, so we will look at that in the near future.

    Thats all folk, thanks for reading and please leave a comment, I love reading them!  Take care, choco.  Next update will be more varied.

    I love that picture. It reminds me of the F3 outside Sydney.

    It... looks sexy.

    I thought I'd finally stop by since it looks like this CJ will earn a spot in the Reader's Guide soon. It's remarkably pretty and has a unique look to it. 2.gif

    I very much like your Green Depra, it is so... green... and I love green! Also, I never saw rural highway in action, good that you showed it. Did you test how it integrates with normal motorway?

    Justa quick question, and my apologies if it's been asked (I only had time to skim and look at the pictures), but how did you get those larger one-way roundabouts? I have the latest NAM and all I can get are the smaller ones.

    I love this CJ and I think you have a great development plan.

    I second the comment on the great use of the Rural Highway.

    Wow, I haven't visited the rural highway thread in quite some time, so imagine my surprise in opening your CJ to realize that it's available! That's a good showcase of it.

    Your roundabout appears to be circulating the wrong way. 10.gif

    Just then, I have looked at all nine pages of this CJ and I think it is fantastic and is up there with the likes of Jersey Devil and Jeronij. And I have to say this even though others already have but IT IS SO GREEN!!!!!
    The detail that has been put into this is just simply amazing. And I'm wondering where did you get the following things for your game:

    • The Green Texture for the terrain
    • The different trees
    • The red brick streets
    • The houses at the bottom of update 17 in the suburb shot.
    • The cliff face texture (i'm guessing that is the PEG rock mod but which texture out of it is it?)
    • And anything else that is significant that you use in your game for this CJ

    I have to say that this CJ has given me huge insparation to create my own fictional CJ. I did the two other realistic ones but I stopped one because it gets too boring copying parts of the city (melbourne) off the melway into the game and the other one didn't get much intrest from the public so I let that one die.

    Still, it's great that one Melburnian knows how to make an excellent CJ! Great job and I will be keeping an eye on this.

    Great Update and great work with the RHW kit! I was lurking into the thread from time to time but this is first time I saw it in action! 10.gif

    As soon as my pc is working again I'll have a look at it although I don't know if I will use it because as far as I know such highways don't exist
