Simworld 056132 Thankyou for your comments, welcome to the CJ and there will be a new update very soon! 3.gif

jglei701 Yeah, I'm a bit of a lurker myself! Thankyou very much, I love to create a lush city.  It was the original aim of this CJ.  I know, I would like to live here too!  You'd be so close to nature.  I'm glad you liked it so much, and the brick streets can be found  here ! (there is also a version which doesn't appear all the time but only in high wealth) Please pop by again! 4.gif

metasmurf Thanks, I'm glad you like it! 48.gif

jacqulina Thankyou very much, I'm really happy that you liked the mosaic!

sim1234 Thanks, I never really intended to build many farming areas but then I felt that they really fitted in with the Green Depra environment and I started enjoying making them even more!  I've been making them alot more than the main city part, which I never thought would happen! Thanks mate. 44.gif

Nardo69 I guess it doesn't fully count as an intersection!  Considering they never really intersect!  But it does work in the end! 2.gif Thanks alot Nando!

Fabiocb Thanks heaps man, glad you liked it. 9.gif

SC4 meister Thanks so much man, I hope you enjoy the next update! 44.gif

New Update soon!  Stay tuned, and keep those fantastic comments coming! 3.gif

For my first post on Simtropolis, I wanted it to be something good. This... is something good. A gorgeous landscape, amazing cities, an overall feeling of well-being within the game, and on top of all that, creativity that goes beyond just construction of a city (on that note I favored Green Depra to win by 1). Keep up the good work. It is as inspiring as it is impressive.

This is one of the top 10 CJs on ST, bar none, and you should know that and take pride! Stand tall at your position of one of our most creative and impressive CJers.

    Region Update

Here is just three quick pictures to show you the development that has taken place in Green Depra.  I haven't shown a region shot for a while, so I thought it is about time.  It is also a pretty good lead in for tonights update!

So there will be a basic region shot, a transport shot and a shot showing the names.  I realised that most people probably don't know what I'm talking about when I say the names of the cities, so this should give you an idea of where everything is!

I almost changed what I had decided, but that would be unfair! 2.gif ) Thanks again for your comments and may I be the first to say: 39.gifWelcome to Simtropolis! 44.gif

6.gif Ahh...I see. The reason why, you created trees like that is to put cities in them! That's clever. I never thought about doing that. Lot of cities kind of looks like that from the sky, doesn't it?

I kind of noticed though, this region looks like somewhat Pacific Northwest of US. Especially, the island you have in there, reminds me of that. 48.gif  I love those areas, so I love this region as well!

Great work. I want to see more of your beautiful citis that balanced with the nature. 4.gif

    Update 14

    The Development of Fur Hills.

Now, I showed you a mosaic of Fur Hills' farming area and its small reservoir and lake last update, but before we move on to Green River, I would like to show you some more detailed shots of that area and its surroundings!  You know where it is so you should know a bit more about it!

First lets have a closer look at the area right around the mosaic.

    Fur-Hills-Dec.jpg

The green country side covered with farms.

    Fur-Hills-Dec2.jpg

Many jobs are found in the farming areas of Fur Hills.  People come from all across Salt Bluff and Green River to get a taste of the country air and it has become a bit of a holiday destination.

    Fur-Hills-Dec3.jpg

The beautiful lakes are home to many fish and a source of water for many.

    Fur-Hills-Oct2.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Nov.jpg

This dam is the first dam of Green Depra and is a catchment for rain, and it often rains in this low lying area of maxovia, thats what keeps it so green.  The water poors down from the above lake and is filtered before landing in the bottom catchment, it is then filtered again and pumped all across Green Depra.  It is the only source of water in all Green Depra, and is also a bit of an icon.

    Fur-Hills-May2.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Apr.-9,-141131359.jpg

    Fur-Hills-May.jpg

This new railway runs right through the farming town and leads all the way into Blackberry Inlet, and continues into Black Ash Island and Furnace Cliffs.  Many different trains use it, from frieght to passengers, to the tourist railway which runs from Blackberry Inlet and has been earnt thousands for the local economy.  The train used is call Strong Larry and was imported from Red Depra.

The Saltrun Railway runs all across Fur Hills.

    Fur-Hills-Mar.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Jan.-6,-171131360.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Nov2.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Oct3.jpg

    Fur-Hills-Feb.jpg

The town is ripe with industry and the economy of Green Depra is booming.  Green Depra is sending out its first exports to the world, and it is starting to produce more of itsown goods and relying less on imports from Gold Depra. (thanks Nik-Nik! 2.gif) Green Depra is slowly becoming more independant, thanks to these very farms!

    Fur-Hills-Oct.jpg

Hate to say, yep thats it!

    Coming up in future updates:
    More region shots!
    Transportation Systems
    Environmental Shots
    City Shots
and one on the New Seaport.

I hope you all enjoyed this update! 4.gif

Simworld 056132 Thanks, I was trying to create a tranquil, green place! 2.gif No, not the bunnies! They seem to have worked.  35.gif

Ynterboy Thanks, very much!  I'm glad you liked the update. 9.gif

luckydakota Yep, sure did.  I created a very unique region for strange cities!  Thanks heaps!  Hmmm, I've never though of it looking like that before, good idea.  If you want to see more cities balancing with nature, you're in luck.  Thats what alot of my future updates are going to be. 10.gif

Thanks for everyone's comments!  I'm moving on from the farms because I've gotten sick of showing them.  So stay tuned for a bit of nature and a bit of big cities!  Cheers, choco. 35.gif

Great updates Max! and thanks for the 2 region maps, I just love them!

Sick of showing agricultural pics? Nah cannot be...we love those pics.
Anyway, everybody has its own preference.

One question on imports and exports. You mentioned: The first exports are being sent and Green Depra is starting to rely less on imports from Green Depra.  eeeh? I am puzzled. I guess you mean fur hill is starting to get less relying on Green Depra. 31.gif

    Eyecandy, eh?

I still maintain that it's green as Aeroplane Jelly. 9.gif

But hey, that's nice. I like the region view... it... fits. Fur Hills is cool, too. But where's the filtering system?

EDIT: Well, this is like an emergency reply, and I'm replying to three people so I might as well make it official and pull out ye old banner!
    newPCbanner.jpg

Oops!  I appear to have made a mistake, when I said
The first exports are being sent and Green Depra is starting to rely less on imports from Green Depra.
What I meant to say was:
The first exports are being sent and Green Depra is starting to rely less on imports from Gold Depra.

How stupid, I will go back and correct that, thanks for pointing it out Nik-Nik! 44.gif What I meant was that Green Depra is relying less on Gold Depra for goods and services (ie. imports) and it is even starting to export some goods out of Green Depra.  Sorry for being unclear!

Thanks so much for you comments Nik-Nik, its not that I hate the farms, I just thgouht it was time to change from showing updates on Fur Hill. 19.gif

Thanks very much jacqulina for your gracious comments, and I'm really glad you liked the farms so much! 9.gif

Shadow_Assassin, We posted at almost the sam time! I'm glad you liked the region shot, Yes, I aim for a jelly-like colour! and the filtering system its.... um... underground... 22.gif Yes, that'll do! 2.gif

    Cheers, choco!

wow very impressive.  where to begin?  at the beginning of course!

Your terraforming at the onset was most unique.  I have never seen trees grow quite like that in such a cell like pattern.  You certainly made that pattern your own and made it look so natural.

I love how you started off with a small story and began development with rural settings.  that just seems much more natural for a city to start with.

Your city development is very organic and the use of cliffs and walls and tunnels all throughout gives your design quite a character.

The soccor (or is it football?) game was most unique and I generally dont watch sport games but I was most impressed with watching (er reading) that one!  lol!

Thanks for making such a great CJ and I hope to make my own CJ as good as this one.  Thanks for the inspirations.

    Update 15!

In Greed Depra there is 7 pages, consisting of 15 updates, just over 200 replys and almost 5000 views!   Thankyou all so much!!  9.gif In celebration of that, I've got a really big update for you guys, there is actually even more than what I'll show you tonight, but I decided to divide it into two updates, because I though it was a bit too much! 2.gif

In today's update: A few region shots!  Some environment pics, and some Industrial areas, and even a few farm ones! 43.gif Okay, I'm not too sick of farm shots! 18.gif

Now, in Green Depra there is so much land which has no-body living on it, or even near it.  Explorers have been walking through Green Depra, up ridges, down valleys, across fields.  They have found that to the West of GD the land starts to get very hilly, it rises out of the natural tree fields and soft hills and becomes steeper mountains and large hills.

    region35.jpg

    region5.jpg

But just before the ridges, named the Ibella Mountains, there is a series of shallow rivers and marshes.  They are inhabited by many animals, one of which is the Depra Deer, which is an animal never seen in Gold Depra, and thus is a major interest to tourists and new comers.  This is a strange world for the Gold Deprovian's, and there is much to explore...

    region4.jpg

The environment around the Stone Marshes (the series of rivers in the above image) is a mix of dense forest and quiet, leaf littered fields.  It is the perfect location for the exotic Depra Deer.

    envi1.jpg

     envi2.jpg

    envi3.jpg

    envi5.jpg

     envi4.jpg

Now... Lets have a look at Fur Hills again, this is more of the Insutrial side of Fur Hills.

Recently, due to a huge population boom in Green River, a massive amount of demand has recently popped up for High Technology Industry in Fur Hills, farmers are a bit dismayed by the shift of priorities while zoneing by the local council.  Yet it is another sign of Green Depra's development, a shift from primary industries to Secondary is a great thing for Green Depra's economy.

Lets start with a mosaic... shall we?

    Industrial-mosaic1.jpg

Thats a long shot from the new High Tech plaza, next to the other one I showed you previously.  This is becoming the hub of Industrial activity all across Green Depra, it is slowly taking over from Furnace Cliffs.

The rail system in Green Depra is one of the best in all Depra, it is fast and relyable and because of major Gold Depra Transportation Grants, they cover a huge area of GD.  The rail in Fur Hills is very long and is used very often, by over 3000 passengers and 500 freight loads in its most busy part.  It is a major vein in the Green Depra body so lets take another look (I'm sorry to bore you guys with heaps of rail photos, I promise I will move on. 19.gif)

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/Fur-Hill5.jpg align=baseline>

This is an intersection and tunnel, which goes under many farms and joins with a railway which runs into Salt Bluff, it is a very busy tunnel, and intersection.  (I created the side fences myself in the lot editor 2.gif for some reason I really like the way the shadows are cast across the dirt.)

    Fur-Hill4.jpg

    Fur-Hill3.jpg

    Fur-Hill2.jpg

With the economy of Green Depra growing so strong, the council and the Green Depra Mayor have put in a request for Green Depra to become a republic, and release itself from official control of Gold Depra.  Will its request to become an independant nation be granted by the Gold Depra Parliament?

    Fur-Hill10.jpg

    Fur-Hill9.jpg

There is a strange mix of farms and High Tech Industry in Fur Hills..

    Fur-Hill11.jpg
     Fur-Hill1.jpg

    Fur-Hill8.jpg

Well, while major industrial growth has taken place, at the same time a small growth has taken place.  That is the growth of some small reeds along side the Fur Hills Lake..

    Fur-Hill7.jpg

    Fur-Hill6.jpg

EDIT: sorry, I stuffed up the mosaic, the updated version is in my post on page 8, thanks.

Next update, shots of the new residential growth and even some skyscrapers! Thats right, just like the picture above, there are tall buildings in Green Depra!  17.gif Also some pictures of the new seaport, a forward thanks to MasterPlanMan for that! 2.gif

Thanks for reading folks!  And thanks so much for the absolutely fantastic support I've have recieved from so many people.  When I started this, I never expected to entertain so many people!  I will reply to all your coments in my next post.  Thanks everyone! 29.gif
