Those red streets look good on those HT industrial areas - if we could chose some surfaces by owr will for the streets I guess I would use them too sometimes!

Update 11

 

The Lead up to the biggest even in Green Depra History since the establishment of Blackberry Inlet...

 

The first major league soccer match between Green Depra and its founding country Gold Depra...

 

The council of Green Depra has puts all its availiable money into this event, and even build a stadium (well, a small stadium on Gold Depra standards) to host their soccer teams first ever real match.

 

The day before had been a frenzy of setting up the site and all of the hosting town for the arrival of the Gold Depra team.  Every person in the hosting town of Salt Bluff took part in the preperation one way or another.  But as the sun set on that day, silence fell on the stadium, which the next day would be filled with life...

 

 

While the grounds were dead quiet, not a single person in Salt Bluff slept.  They were too excited.

 

 

 The stunning statue of Soccer Hero Sir Jakob Grafnot.  The next day this small nation's first team would be up against the team which the greatest soccer player of all time used to belong.

 

 

The sun rose, on the saturday, of Green Depra's most important sporting day.

 

 

Excitment spreads, and hours before the game even started huge crowds lined the streets around the stadium.

 

 

Special stone pedestrian malls were build to allow people to wait, and allow mini-parades to take place.

 

 

 

 

The police fenced off the area, and even had to control some overly-excited sims (see if you can them, they appear in many of these pictures!).

 

 

 

But because of the police blocking the traffic the streets have become clogged with people wanting to park as close as they can to the game.

 

 

 

The trains have been clogged with people wanting to get in to watch the game, it is estimated that 30,000 people will watch this game from the stands, and millions world wide.  Giant TV screens have been set up in the parks and buildings of Blackberry Inlet.

 

 

 The tension mounts and people grow ever more excited as the time is coming for the game to start, it is only hours until the first kick off.. 

 

People are running around and jumping with excitement!

 

 

It is a strange thing that Green Depra is getting so excited over such a small sporting even, and scting like it is the most important thing to ever happen.  But it is more than just a sproting event, it is a statement to the world, saying that they are a nation and that they do exist.  It is symbolic, and represents this small nations independance, and it is the first thing that Green Depra has done in its own right, and not under the flag of Gold Depra or Red Depra.  It will be a historic occasion.

 

But the question remains... Who Will Win??

 

Thankyou to all who have guessed so far, but there is still time, who will win and by how much?  Next update we will cross live to the soccer feeds presented by Gold Depra World Sport, because as yet Green Depra doesn't have any television channels set up.

Nardo69 Thanks nando, I was trying for a more natural style of transport network, much more like real life, which kind of branched out like a tree would.  I also am not a huge fan of boring straight lines so all my transport networks wind and twist and turn, even if there is no need for it! Thankyou very much for picking up on that! I'm glad you like the red brick, I've always thought it looks kind of classy.  Oh and thanks for opening page 5! Especially in such a grand way!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been checking out the cool CJ's on this site and this one really caught my eye. Nice update! The suspense is unreal - it's almost as if I were there in person. One can tell that you put a lot of passion into this.

Is this a game being played during the regular season or in the playoff series (in which case I'll have to go with Green winning 4:3 with the first penalty kick in the second overtime )? 

 

BTW - Happy Halloween! <--I've been waiting for a chance to use that one!

 

EDIT:  Nevermind the question - I went back and read it again; it's the first match, i.e. in the regular season (so a tie actually would be possible). I'll stick with my original predictions.

Thankyou everyone, now I am so sorry for not updateing, I've meant to but I just haven't had the time, and I've been spending it working on the update and just building Green Depra.  I was going to do it last night but I forgot that I wanted to add something, then I would do it this morning, but my girlfriend is coming around to watch the Melbourne Cup and I've got to go get ready! Thanks for all your support, and I hate to keep you all in suspence.  But I will update first thing tonight.  (ps, its 10 o'clock in the morning here!)

Thanks Bill, tonight we are in for a history making game

Yes thats quite right Ted, tonight is the first time Green Depra plays in the A competition

Well, it joins a large competition all ready with over 8 teams, those include Gold Depra, Red Depra, United Depra Islands, Highlanders, North Gold Depra, South Gold Depra, Autumn City, Depra and now Green Depra.  There has even been rumours of a East Red Depra team.

Lets not get too ahead of ourselves, Ted.

Now to the game at hand, Green Depra v Gold Depra, and who do you think will win Ted?

I think that Gree Depra are new and will barely scratch the surface, Gold Depra has it in the bag.

I disagree, I think Green Depra, being the underdog, are in for a fighting chance.

Well Gold has done it 2-1 although I was wrong to say that Green had the opening score, the end result was correct. Congrats Gold. Sorry

I noticed how decent and structorised the game and the fans were. Many a Dutch soccerfan could learn from that behaviour, hardly any police assistance needed. Again a big compliment for the Soccer organisation legue and the fans in general.
