Government - Left , Right , or somewhere else?
Exhagaga replied to sir scott's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Well, I use a Democratic Socialism system, which although has control over things that affect the population as a whole, allows everyone personal freedom. The government is needed to keep everything falling apart, and although anyone can easily give examples of failed communist nations, they have failed largely from other reasons such as having no real elections. And in response to jmjselect, here in NZ, we have had a left swinging government for 6 years, and our unemployment is the second lowest in the OECD. And I know we should keep politics out of the forums, but we are not arguing about real life parties... -

Wow, a fantastic CJ, too bad i never saw it before! The farms look very nice, and realistic, except for the borders, but that will change! I really like the building showcases, and the fact that you use Publisher for the newspapers too! -
Whew! This is going so fast Ive missed so much! First things first, congrats on the trixie, I was one of those who nominated you for Most Aesthetically Pleasing city, it must have been close then! Glad that GD has become a republic, It should make for some interesting developments in the country, you havnt ever considered the SCJU have you The last few updates have been amazing, Im glad to see that you are just as skilled at city areas as more rural ones, good job I noticed the ad for max chocolates in the paper too, very good And for all that, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Well, Im still alive, just, and have given up on having time for large updates, but I hope to do a couple of little ones when I can. Long overdue replies: @Pip: Thanks for posting! @Fox: St Marque Inlet has been of huge assistance to NA, and we are glad now to finally be able to send troops home. The buses are in production now, the prototype is being shipped over now, for you to review and make any final changes. @Leech: I got your PM, and congratulations on the trixie, I want a Zuke! The town of Suerte, has luckily come out of the conflict reletively unscathed, mainly because much of the population is fairly liberal, and dont care too much about the King, and also because of their remotness from the capital. Suerte is also the ideal site for the unofficial SCJU games, which will be held in the new year to help lift NA spirits and the economy. Since nearly all facilities are in place, NA only needs a few sponsers to help keep things running. The main facility, the Suerte Stadium, will be very familiar to many STEX users, but the king loved the design. The town itself has started a campaign to encourage residents to let out spare rooms to games fans, and the community has started an all out competition to hae the best gardens and picture perfect houses. The areas near the Fogherty River are most sought after, as well as those near the El-Rail track. Also, the games should provide some more interest in the areas new Agricultural research facilities, funded completely privately, and still new. They have the potential to be world pioneers, with microclimates from around the world used in experiments, but most using different techniques on NA fields.

Its nice to see the seaport area from above too(Or at least i think its the seaport area, at the bottom of the pic) Anyhoo, keep it up

Im sure you all know what its like, so please forgive my recent slackness of updating due to RL. Heres just a newspaper article I whipped out, so nothing spectacular @Fox: Im sure i replied to your comment before, but it seems to have not worked either! Yes, the cities are very eirie, its sorta sad, glad i didnt save it that way I hope other nations are as willing to help out as SMI is, with help such as from St Marque Inlet, we should get back on our feet as soon as possible. @Jacqulina: Thankyou for your visit! @slann: Again, nice to see a nation offering to help, we hope to be able to lift that pesky travel advisory ASAP, I am the tourism minister after all! @Jeb: The elections are due to be held very soon, and because reliable opinion polls cannot be carried out due to network problems, the outcome is a mystery! @Leech: Myon can help by simply keeping up relations with New Auckland as before, keep investing here, and trading, and visiting(as soon as this violence is over that is) @kotchanski: Short and sweet @skyshroud: Dont laugh too much at the Progressives, they won the Dunedin electorate And yes, New Auckland is ready to host its own world sport event, the unofficial SCJU games. @pipishere: The citizens of NA are a hardy bunch and will get over this little hitch, infact, they might benifit in the long run! And here it is,

Yes, the blog is a very nice and creative way to get newstories across. Just a coincidence, but my CJ, New Auckland, has just suffered a major stock market crash, and the wealthier residents are all emigrating to more prosperous nations. I think the President of Canon would be very humbled by your use of him as mayor Hey, I forgot! Welcome One Welcome All, to fabulous Page 5

Wow, great update! I was waiting for you to start updating again to comment, and now Im glad to be able to! Your CJ is excellent, especially your attention to detail and I can see you are dedicated to making the pics interesting to the reader. You must have quite a nice PC, from the looks of it this is running at a high resolution. The pics look very nice, especially the night ones. This is some really good work, and I like your taste in BATs (Speaking of which, Im gonna be a little annoyinh and ask where you got that modern building behind SOMYs statue at the top of the page) -
Wow, Its been ages since Ive done an upadate, but as you all know, RL calls from time to time... @Jacquilina: Thankyou for your continued comments, I always can look forward to a kind comment from you. @Pip: Yes, NA is in the proverbial at the moment, and those police will be needed quick smart as you will see below @Jarnomiedema: I hope to keep going without supressing the people too much, although youre delightfully oppresive police style may come in handy Jarnomiedema helped me create a bit of a riot it NA, and without him my complete lack of Lot editor knowledge would have left me clueless. However, visit Chaumont(link in sig) for a much better example of how to make crowds in SC4. Thanks alot @Fox: Delightful, another comment from the one and only Fox. Again, another helpful person who gave me the basic template of the NA herald The story is yet to unravel completely, but this is a CJ, not Pulp Fiction, so dont expect too much Apparantly my taste in modern archetecture is slightly different from yours, but I'm glad you like the overall style of NA. The recent crisis has affected the nation more seriously then expected. The loss of companies has caused an exodus of those who can afford it, and the ones left are left poor and unemployed, which is never a good combination. The once proud Eden City, with the highest avg. income on the nation, has become home to delapidated ruins and slums. This is an aerial shot taken before the crisis: And the same place after: The council's have rushed to build subsidised flats, but these have become crime ridden and unhealthy areas due to oercrowding and limited funding. Before: After: In Vice City, north of King's Harbour, things are slightly better, most of the populaton has moved into tenements and low-cost housing. Of course, nowhere has been harmed more than the CBD, where nearly all jobs are provided by high-wealth offices, most of which have pulled out of NA due to bad expectations. Riots have been sparked here by bored teenagers, but have spread to include almost the whole population. Arsonists have so far only targetted abandoned office buildings: These rioters are moving now to target government buildings, especially Parliament. After his airport destroyed, the PM is in hiding in Parliament, and the King desperately trying to defuse the violence. Military assistance from other nations has been requested, with NZ police already at the scene. The riots began before the budget announcement in Waitakere, a small town home to the nations military reserch base, cause of the crisis. It has become an unofficial HQ for protesters, who, due to personell being needed in the capital, have managed to breach the walls of the base and protest inside. This picture was taken shortly before the base was overwhelmed. And after: The violence is centred mainly around the bases three medium-range nuclear missiles, which had been taken out of storage for a press investigation shortly before the base was invaded. The few personell have managed to keep protesters away so far, although most are non-violent, and do not wish to damage the missiles. The government has called for emergency assistance in protecting these missiles, and it is predicted that they will have to be shipped to the nation of Cordovia, who are rumoured to have nuclear weapons themselves. This was taken by a TV-helicopter before the air-space was closed. The crisis hasnt been bad for the whole nation, the main exporters, farmers, are benifiting from extremely low exchange rates. In other good news, the nation of SMI has offered to buy the ailing government-owned mining company Umbrella Corp. The company has been plagued by loss of profits as the nation was not able to maintain equipment or upgrade it. The main mine, Wellington, produces high-grade coal sought after for its clean-burning properties.
